Hi, I've been looking for a new racquet and have been wondering about the new muscle power 45. I currently use a ti-3 sp , its actually been pretty good to me but i think its time to change. If anybody has the racquet or has experianced it, please reply :)
Mostly the reason why I want it is because its blue :o

Depends on if you want an even balance or head light racket. The MP 45 and MP 66 are basically the same, except for the balance, and the MP 66 is $10 more if you're buying from Badminton Alley.

Yes. But the 45 on badminton alley says its even balanced. I think if you stick a grip on it it becomes a bit lighter? I have good shots however my smashes are never as fast as others. Do you think the stiffer even balanced Mp 45 help me out in that department? Without a decrease in clearing. The mp 66 seems to have pretty good reviews.

I would say I would rather go for the MP 66. Maybe you could make it even more head lighter by adding a grip? I'm not sure as to the performance of the MP 45, but the MP 66 seems solid. Clearing is more of your skill and strength. Sorry for the delayed reply.

no problem, i wanted to try the 45 because of its more even balance to improve on the kills. again im looking towards it because its stiffer by a bit and not headlight.

Well, then go for it? Why keep asking if you're mostly set on it? You should be saying in your head, "Bring on the blue!"

i was really excited about using it today. however i now have a cold with really sore throat and stuffy nose :crying:. i have cleared with it and it seems like a very decent racquet. but nothing enough yet. im sorry david but i will try tommorow and i will certainly give a full review.
the string was at 22lbs and it was indeed a bit harder to clear than with a 20lbs i had before. but still the mp-45 only needed a bit more force to get it right where it should be. but its probably because im sick. i did not play long with it. =]

Don't be sorry, taking care of yourself is way more important that playing badminton or testing out a new racket to post a review

yes. thankyou for understanding.
i can however state the color. its actualy a very dark blue. the shaft is i would say..cobalt with thoes sprinkly shiny stuff. but not shiny enough to see from over 3-4 feet away. the tip and bottom sides of the face is pure white. overall i think its a very nice paintjob.
weightwise. my old racquet was a ti-3 light sp. i felt that it was very light and the mp-45 seems to be a bit heavier or headheavier, but not huge.

hi. so kaze cloud, hv u try the mp 45? reli love to hear ur review coz i may buy it.

alright here it is.
Mp-45
Bg-65 @ 22lbs
2 Overgrips
First Impression: Was that it is a bit heavier than my ti-3. But my ti-3 is to me incredibly light. So I put 2 grips on and it feels great =].
Paint Job: Very nice paintjob. Shiny and smooth. Dark blue, white. (I love blue)
Feel of Shots: The Mp-45 has a soft hitting feeling. If you are a beginner or low intermediate, you may feel a bit harder and metaliky. But if you pronate correctly it becomes a half way mark of metalic and soft. If you guys know what I mean x_X. I know this because I did not hit correctly before, causing a harder feel.
Sound: Well sound has alot to do with the string and it's tension. But using a Bg-65 22lbs. I have a very loud poping sound when hitting.
Power: It is head heavy and it gave me alot more power against a headlight. However if your use to headlights you have to take time to adjust.
Balance: I don't believe it when it says even-balanced. It might of been just heavier than my ti-3 because it was pretty head heavy to me. But it did not interfere with my manueverability.
Time to adjust: 2 Days.
Shot where you stretch the crap out of your arm to retrieve a dropping birdie: Harder to do because of 22lbs. Remember if your not an Intermediate player or High Intermediate, tension higher than 21lbs takes more technique to hit hard. Of course its only my opinion.
Again it doesn't matter what I say about the racquet, if you do not have correct form and technique, no racquets going to give you a BIG improvement. It may you will see a difference. But spending money to improve your power is not as smart as improving technique with your own racquet first. I know of a person that played better with a new racquet, but can't play with any other, a good player should play "decent" with all racquets. So I advise everybody to play up to a certain level before purchasing. The statements were mainly pointed to begginers XD. But if your racquet already cost more than $100. This will be the same.
Its a great racquet =D
if you play with looser strings this racquet may require a bit more strength to clear, of course like all racquets.
once i mastered the pronation and technique

Don't mind me copying your format of the review. :P and Yes I do own one... >.>
Oh yea btw, first time posting. :P
Mp-45
Bg-80 @ 23lbs
1 yonex overgrip
First Impression: Nice feeling when just swinging in the air, & even balance in my opinion. Its shiny blue. :D
Feel of Shots: Majorly due to the strings, it felt just "right". The rebound of the shuttlecock from the string bed wasn't too stiff or too soft.
Sound: Just as before, it has to do with the strings, the technique, speed of swing, and obviously the shot your making. It sounded pretty nice when I got a chance to smash. :)
Power: I never could bring out the FULL potential of a racket due to being a beginner, for me this racket is alright it didn't feel dramatically weak.Even though XKazeCloudX says its heavy-head, I say its even balanced. Kinda weird though, in online stores it said the shaft has a medium flexibility, but the Mp-44 which from the same store claims its flexible. The Mp-44 is actually stiffer, in my hands. :O Any opinions? Whats even more weird, the store said that the Mp-45 shaft is made of H.M. Graphite, while the text on the Mp-45 shaft saids full carbon graphite, instead of High Modulus Graphite.
Balance: As stated above... I have a head heavy, an even balance and a light head so I know the difference. (Mp-88, 44, 45)

nice. sorry to revive an old thread XD. i just got back on the forums. i really wanted the mp-88 shadowz. and in your opinion which one is better the 88 or 45. i would have to assume the 88 because its got the uh. better "technology" like hm graphite and ti power? of course it costed more =X
the 45 to me felt like it was very flexible after some more bends and tests.
your sound was also louder due to the bg-80's thin string. i think.

To be honest... I like the 45 better, since it has BG-80s and its more even balance to me compared to the Mp-88. Just because it has more "stuff" doesn't mean its better for a particular person, like me. :P Yea...its the most flexible rackets of all 3 of mine.
As for which is better... no one can say for sure. Try both out? Bye for now. :D

so is this racquet head heavy or even balanced? i've tried holding a bare piece of MP45, it does feel heavy and not light, but i can't really tell if it's a head heavy or balanced racquet...
does the weight change considerably after putting on the grip and strings attached?

Tried it yesterday. Played 4 intense games. I found this racquet even balanced. My first few warmup strokes need to get use to. Not able to hit the shuttle at the correct spot. The net control is excellence. Seem to play a very tight net play. Due to my age I prefer to defend and try to setup more shot for my partner to attack, I am front-court maniac. But no problem if cover back court. Able to place shuttle more accurately compare to my previous racquet. The smash are more accurate place but slightly less powerful than previous racquet which is head heavy. Drive shot is easier and quickier now. Not able to test my defend fully because due to my good defend ;), opponents attacking/smashing my partner instead.
I would recommend this racquet to player who has a strong wrist like me .
Spec. 3u G4
String (Yonex thin type, did not ask vendor) and 24lbs

Hi guys,
I have used this Yonex MP 45 before. Quite a head heavy racket. Good for smashing and attacking plays but abit slow in defence. I had strung this racket with BG80 at tension 25 lbs. The racket is 3U G5, with a nice deep blue colour.;) A very good racket for intermediate players.

Hi
Just found this thread, search previously but search not working.
I had been recommended to get a Mp45 to replace my Carbonex 20.
Perhaps I am not a beginner but not had not played for long time so now started again.
generally a defensive/control player but like to attack more & want to improve on smashing and rear court action.
Is this racket suitable and appropriate?
UK £49 sale at the moment so is it worth it?
What string & tension should I put in ?
Anyone experience this racket can help and comment?
Thanks
or alternative should I go for Apacs?

In the reviews you should say if you tried it on a natural shuttle or a plastic one. This point really changes things.
