View Full Version : Dunlop Aerogel Series Scott Kam 04-07-2007, 11:27 PM Just found it in a chain store (but surprisingly not in pro-shops) and I'm quite interested in the Aerogel it describes. Any BC'ers has a trial already? LouisW 08-01-2007, 11:01 AM I just bought the aerogel 9000 lite and strung with BG-66 at 27Ibs. Can't wait to try it tomorrow. Wish me good luck. Sealman 08-01-2007, 10:49 PM Interesting. Have only seen the Aerogel tennis rackets in Singapore. LouisW, look forward to your review. LouisW 08-03-2007, 11:03 AM Finally, the day has come and I have tested this new racquet until 1am. :D Racquet spec : Model : Dunlop Aerogel 9000 Lite. Color : Light Red (Shaft), Silver (Frame) Stiffness : High flex because of 7.5mm to 6.5mm taper/tele-scoptic shaft design. (For me I feel like it is at Medium Stiffness) Frame : Concave design (Inner) and also incorporate with bulge point design at certain point. Weight : I believe is somewhere between 84g - 87g, EVEN BALANCE. String Tension : 27Ibs (BG-66) This is the 1st time I use Dunlop racquet and it perform beyond my expectation. This racquet is easy to use compare to my new ti-10 (27Ibs). It come with taper shaft design. Frankly speaking, I always stay away to this telescoptic shaft design racquet because I have a bad experience which happened about 2 years ago. RSL is famous with this shaft design and very expensive. :D:D The "Aerogel" badminton racquet series come with 5000 (Light Yellow, Head Heavy/Medium Flex), 6000 (Silver, Head Light/Very Flex), 9000 (Blue, Slightly Head Heavy/High Flex) and 9000 Lite. I choose the 9000 lite is because I concentrate more on doubles game. My rating : Power : 4/5 (Despite I rated 4 points out of 5, the taper shaft design really help to improve my smashing shot and always "boom" :p) Maneuverbility : 5/5 (Quick and easy. Feel is quite similar to my NS 9x) Control : 5/5 (Very stable) Feel : 4/5 (So far I don't feel any vibration at all because of the rubber damper design at the cone) I really recommended this racquet to intermediate and above int. player. It is suitable for single and double game play. If you are still confused between the famous new ti-10 or NS 9s, by paying 1/3 the price of the NS 9s, this racquet is really worth every penny you pay. ;););) vince_kan 08-03-2007, 11:06 AM Finally, the day has come and I have tested this new racquet until 1am. :D Racquet spec : Model : Dunlop Aerogel 9000 Lite. I google it everywhere but I can't find any information. Thanks in advance gjoo888 07-24-2008, 08:40 PM I see Dunlop Aerogel racquets for sale all over Bangkok, I know the Super Sports chain sell them in most of their stores, there's also a Dunlop store right near National Stadium on Rama I Rd. that sell mostly Dunlop products. I've never hit with one, but they look like pretty good racquets and Dunlop always did make good tennis racquets. It's funny how hard it is to find any info on the web about Dunlop products, maybe someone can provide a website. Sealman 07-25-2008, 01:21 PM these aerogel series of bags are nice http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/descpageBGDUNLOP-DAGB.html Xalvin 08-29-2008, 04:35 AM Hey I might be getting an Aerogel 9000XL or a 3000 XL. The two are different from that one 9000XL is 88g and 3000XL is 87g. Specs are (written on the racket itself) : Extra Flex Extra Long (675mm) Head Heavy Max String Tension 26 lbs Tapered Shaft 6.5mm- 7.5mm Now before everything, I just wanna say I'm an Intermediate player only. I never played in tournaments, and always have casual games every week or two. Consider me a complete noob in badminton. From what I've read in the Stiffness to Flex thread, I'm suppose to determine whether to have Stiff or Flexible shafts. But honestly, I don't know how fast is my acceleration in my swings. Since this is Extra Flex, is this on a scale to 5 for flexibility considered to be like maximum of 5? How would I know if a racket's flexibility is suitable for me or not? Just determining the sound of my smash? Also, I'm really worried about Dunlop's Aerogel Series not having any info or reviews in the web. Does it mean that its not very good? teoky 08-29-2008, 07:27 AM I just got a Aerogel 800XL from bangkok and tried it earlier. I must say it is suitable as a well rounded racquet. The new series are the 600XL, 800XL and 1000XL. The older one are the 2000, 3000, 5000, 7000, 8000 and 9000. CHOcobo 09-01-2008, 11:24 PM pictures not showing up. can you re-upload them. i wanna see how they look like. michaelavich 09-22-2008, 02:59 AM i have not seen the badminton racquets yet and the aerogel tennis line seems to be well liked but the aerogel squash line has had some serious durablity issues. There seems to be some flaw in the manufacturing that leads to them being quite fragile. This issue may not affect there badminton line as it is likely produced in a different factory but keep it in mind. m Sealman 09-22-2008, 04:11 AM Some photos of the Aerogel series: http://search1.taobao.com/browse/50010728-50010736/n-1---------------------0----------------g,giydanbvhizdanrsgu5tembqgqydumrqha2deoztgm3tanb2 hezdcmrr--g,giydanbvhlj7bq5ly7zmlrb3giydanbqhjcfktsmj5ic7nol yk54nvj3gmztombuhjchk3tmn5ycaqlfojxwozlmz624dua-----g,mfsxe33hmvwa----------------40-grid-commend-0-all-50010736.htm michaelavich 09-22-2008, 11:24 AM you can also see a few here: http://www.courtsidesports.com/store/category/27/267/Dunlop-Racquets/ |
