View Full Version : CH vs CJ - Potential conflict?

Looking at the MS draw, it is very likely that we will see CH vs CJ in the QF in the first half of the table.
Reading so much controversies arising from the ABC after CH decided to come out of "retirement" and participated at his own cost, and all the negative reports on LYB reactions and comments, who knows what would happen when these 2 meet in Singapore Open and what the media would come up this time round.
CH is going to face one of his compatriots in major opens but this comes so soon after his first attempt at ABC, where China has fielded basically their second team, and given SO is the first Olympic qualifier, the "individual vs state" conflict is going to be one of the major talking points should CH advance further in the tournament.
Let us hope that the debates and discussion remain sensible and do not overshadow the performance of the players and the beauty of the game.

Let's hope CH win over CJ, give LYB the opportunity to say many more things...

With CH playing independent with no allegiance to CHN national team, now CH vrs any CHN players would be a good and exciting game, that is what I would look forward to seeing besides TH, PG or LCW playing CHN players.

Does it have to be that way - a conflict?? At the ABC recently, the Chinese coach who accompanied the Chinese team to AE & Swiss O was with the Chinese team at ABC. He was seen giving CH tips at the ABC final during breaks. Surely he has the greenlight from the management to do that as it was aired live.

No, I (and I believe many others too) hope not.
I also believe at personal level, CH should not have problem with his ex-team mates, but we cannot tell what go behind the scene at the national association level. When the stake is high (Olympic qualifying spot for example) and the heat is on, thing may become a little complicated.
As I said, from a spectator point of view, all I want to see is the game is played at it purest and beautiful form and the players are free from all other distraction. And as a member in this forum, any debate and discussion as a result of this, whether siding with CH or not, can be done in a sensible and civilised way.

umm.. befor we talk abot CH vs. CJ, we must first set our eyes on CH vs Sony... CH hasn't been in top shape as of now but Sony has produced nice results (scores) against LD in AE 2007 and Swiss open.. i hope that there will be an upset.. i love underdogs! lol

I agree, The match against Sony (even if he gets that far) will be tough.
CJ s probably the best opponent of CHN team CH could face though, as he should be most likely to beat him.

If WS is anything to go by, there should be. When Wang Chen plays any CHN WS player, her coach is always there.

Wang Chen Represents HK though, and is under HK coaching system.
CH had CHN coach helping him in ABC. Will be interesting to see if there is a choice when CH plays other CHN national player.

I have fainth in CJ.There is no doubt that he will win.
He works very hard and always tries his best in games. His effort should pay off.
Regardless, at least we know Chen Hong, a free agent now, will go all out to win over Chen Jin without worry about Li Yongbo arrangement. It will be a dog fight!

Of Course, there will be no one to tell CH when to lose or whose to lose to anymore. The only one CH will lose to will be himself. I want to see LYB's face after CH capture gold in SO or IO. I cheer for CH.
