hello all,
i was wondering how do u `balance off` a headlight racket? i've heard my friend say that the new yonex titanium mesh 10 is head light (please confirm)
since head light rackets dont pack as big a punch compared to head heavy rackets, can that be `balanced off` by getting it at a heavier weight (2U instead of 3U) ?
so having said that, is head heavy 4U more or less "equal" to head light 2U ?

also, how much heavier exactly is 2U compared to 3U rackets? i use 4U/3U rackets most. so would one feel the extra weight right away?;)

Lead tape at 10 and 2 positions

but how would getting a 2U head light differ from getting a 3U ?

depends..how headlight it is...though generally, the difference is noticable...unless both arckets are close (ie, a 3U of 89 grams, and a 2U of 90grams)...

I guess you shoudl just try and demo a 2U from somebody..or buy a headheavy arcket anyway ;)

will a 4U head heavy racket be harder to swing (generally) compared to a 2U head light?
hope you get what i mean jerby ;)
or in other words which one would you get tired faster with

depends on hów head heavy/light they are..generally they just feel different..not especially in "swing weight" (or whatever term), btu when moving it around...

the best way is just to try stuff out...
;) maybe contact a (local) seller and see if you can get a discount for buying 4 rackets...test them..sell 3 here on BC for 80-90% (depends on their condition)

happens all the time...

Lead tape at 10 and 2 positions

If you want to maximize a shift in balance with minimal impact on the overall weight, you could put the tape at the 12 o'clock position. If you want to add weight w/less impact on balance, then place the tape closer to the balance point.

Tennis players often use lead tape at the 3 and 9 positions to improve racket stability = less racket torque on off-center hits. The torque problem is probably less of an issue with badminton rackets. Weight is added to the grip to make a tennis racket more headlight.

Altho' it's not quite as dense = heavy, you could use cloth tape instead of lead.

so Yonex Armortec 500 is a head heavy racket i suppose?

I think all Armortecs are. Or at least, that's what I remember. The series is all head-heavy to pack that extra "umph!" in shots.

Anyways, I forget. What's the whole good thing about headlight again? I know that it's easier to rotate, but I don't like how heavy the handle is, I'm only used to head-heavy and even rackets.
