Hello all!! I have been a long time user of Carlton and have just recently purchased a Yonex racquet. After all my years using Carlton, do you think it is wise to change to Yonex, especially when most Yonex racquets have the Isometric head shape. Or, do you think it is a good idea? Comments..................

I say go with carbonex series if you switch...
... afterall they have the same head shapes as the carltons...

well... just try it... and you'll find out~
why ask when you can experience!?
People at your local badminton club would probably be willing to lend you their racquets for use...

I regret that I do not live there but thanx a lot anyway!! The first Yonex I just got is the Isometric 76 VF and I quite like it. I think that I will try to get used to the Isometric shape head!

why are you asking after you bought the racket? wouldnt it make more sense to ask before the purchase? do you go to a special school?

I asked after the purchase because I could have easily returned it. I could easily return it now if I had to!! I will probably move on to better Yonex racquets as soon as I get used to them. Remember, you don't have to have a really awesome racquet just to play good.

Yeah, that is true. There is an amazing player in our club who uses a Wilson racket! His technique is so good it doesn't really matter, as long as his racket is decent.

Who ever said Wilson made a bad racquet? I've played with Wilson and they're not ad to play with. A little awkward with the square shaped head, but that is about it.

Some people on this site have said that Wilson rackets seem to have lower quality and workmanship (for Badminton, obviously not Tennis). I don't know if they had any experience with Wilsons.

I demoed a couple a few weeks ago when searching for a new racket. The Hyper Carbon 7.0 and the a Hammer one I think. One seemed to have much vibration, and the other was a control racket, so it was head light. I don't prefer these qualities, but other people might.

If any other people use Wilson rackets, can they tell us about them here or in the reviews?

I've just found out that a badminton player named Peter Knowels uses a Wilson. He looks like a pretty good player.

I know some players who love Wilson. It seems that Hyper Carbon 7 is the favorite model.

I have one Yonex (ti-6) and I just don't like it. Partly, I assume, because of the isometric shape. It makes the racket very head heavy and fragile. So I stay with Carlton, Yang Yang and others who make 'normal shape' rackets.

Wilson have just realeased some new rackets, i saw them many times but never paid any real attension to them, its black and EITHER yellow or blue right?

Oval head shaped, very light, the guy at the shop recommended it to me, but i'm happy with my Slim-10

I think the slimmest racket that i have come across is teh Pro Kennex Boron 815! The bad part is that it is a Oval shaped racket1 I love it though! Cant take much tension though but what the heck it can easily take abt 22!
