I dont know for sure, but the closest model I've found online were this pair called the Asics gel domain blue...

http://www.tenniszon.com/Produits/CatByCo.asp?CoID=24&S=1&PTid=17B

I will order a pair of the gel-block later, just to try out, they look pretty decent... not sure how the gel-smash would compare though...

lol yeah I think I just like the colour...

really I should choose based on comfort, & support...
Form over function... I will see if I can find out more about them in the meantime... but so far I have been very happy with the shb99ltd except that mine is about half a size to small for me :p

Yea...I think Ascis in general are a bit higher off the ground compared to yonex. Ascics are just indoor shoes not badminton exclusive so you gotta expect it. Almost twisted my ankle first time I played with a pair of gel rockets after changing to them...i'm getting used to it but probably looking to switch back to a pair of yonex or similar type soon...lol:p

I was wondering if the picture is taken under UV light.

LOL... I dont think that is entirely the case, but depending on the lighting conditions, the flash can illuminate something more than it really appears to be in person... eg. Yonex Wine Red grap... looks bright red in the catalogue & in ads. , but is actually wine red in person :p

wow...nice...never seen these around...price isn't too bad too..i mean over $100US is normal these days for a pair of shoes anyway. how come japan gets all the good stuff? but yea in general asics are just indoor. The difference between normal indoor and badminton are the arch area...badminton requires lower centre of gravity for stability...but wow these shoes are pretty nice especially the "hyper rushing" pair...someone tell me where to get these :p .

I'm very fond of the asics gel blade. Yeah they are general indoor court shoes, but are targeted more towards the sports of badminton and squash, which are very similar in terms of grip and support needed during movement. They look great as well. Only downside is that the left in sole (inside of left foot) does wear out quickly, but thats because i lunge alot.

Yeah I suppose, but the shoe was advertised as having extremely tough outer material (called rhynoskin) and I expected it to last me longer than it did. I played for about 3 hours total, and a hole the size of a 5 pence coin had already developed...

I actually recently realized that a team mate of mine has these shoes and as you pointed out with the yonex as an example, the actual product isn't nice and bright as the picture. The color is actually a very dull bluey color. But you never know, if you play in a super well lit area with fluorecent lights they could look just as cool. btw I also saw a guy with the "hyper rushing" pair....they look even better in real life...drools:D

I have a pair of Asics Gel rocket 2. (The blue and sliver colour rocks)

The shoes are medium weight to me.It has moderate to good traction but the rubber needs be heated up a bit before it can really work wonders.one thing that i really like about the shoes it that i have long feet but the width of my feet are smaller. This shoes does the trick for me. The gel insole are pretty comfortable. It is very durable.

I got it for RM200 plus and it is a good deal.

It is a good pair of shoes. However, some individuals might not like it.

Hi,
I think the blue and silver is out of stock. The latest one should be light grey in colour. Queensway shopping centre sport shops do have stock of it. I got it for S$85/-;) Pretty good shoes. I like Asics shoes.:p

I have this pair and personally I'm one of those individuals that don't like it very much. For badminton it's kind of unstable for me as it feels higher off the ground compared to the yonex and generic typed shoes (ie victor, fleet, etc). To me it feels basically more like a pair of joggers with gummed soles. I think it's the asics base model at the moment so its not too bad I guess.

Agree i found it doesn't have enough ankle support, but as i kept using them i found it indirectly strengthens my ankles and you get use to it. You sacrifice ankle support for mobility and cushioning. By the way all three colours (All grey, all red and silver blue) available at the shop at Queensway for $81.:)

I just noticed...if you look closely at the "hyper rush" shoes on the japanese website for Asics and you look at the Gel Blade....they look the same..so I guess they're the same shoes, with different colours and different names.
