Most people who have tried the MP100 would argue that its not a beginner's racket as its difficult to get used to.

But i was just thinking, since its even balanced, it should be equal offensively and defensively. So wouldn't that make it idea for the beginners to discover whether they prefer head heavy, head light, offensive, defensive etc etc?

what if he/she doesn't like it, it is a very expensive experiment.

i tend to agree. i must admit that i have stopped using my MP100. while it felt very nice when i first started using it. it no longer has that attraction.

i am much more happy with my Iso900 SS and Ti-10 nowadays and it looks like these will be my main rackets for a while to come.

Guys, i wasnt so much refering to actually trying this experiment, i understand that its expensive, but would it be a good idea to let a beginner start with this racket due to its stats?

i kinda have done something like that, although not intentionally.

my gf started playing badminton seriously recently, she was using one of my dear Iso900 SS CN initially. later on i took it back and let her use my MP100 (SP). she found it more powerful, but she shots were noticably slower, but the way she swings the racket, the weight does help.

anyway, recently, she got a new Ti SP SS, and she find that it is easier to swing. and she has been using it since and never touched the MP100.

i don't think it is conclusive, but it is one data point. IMHO, for a beginner who's still developing strength, the MP100 would be too much for them to handle.

If you don't mind a beginner breaking your MP100...................

i agree if u don't string the racquet at least 21 or 22 lb u will never get the rite feeling for the mp100 so it require a lot of strength.

I hope I'm not considered a beginner... but i recently got 2 MP100s.... n... compared to my old BK racket... it's so much harder to smash... the feeling... it's very different.... and really hard to smash(sweetspot's tiny ><).... but dropshots are easier.... so.. yah... i think it's more for experts.... even intermediate (i hope i fall under this catagory ^^") pplz cant really use it well

The MP100 is not hard to use. If it is a SP model then it should not be a problem. Power is great and the sweetspot is smaller but if you are an intermediate and advanced player then hitting the sweetspot is no problem. Drawback is returning smashes as the bird doesn't want to fly high and back. I've tried numerous combinations of string and tensions but to success. I thought it was technique but it wasn't. Tried returning smashes with my Iso300 and it was very easy. Now, my return of smash is no longer high and deep but rather a low straight drive down the alleys. This racquet is perfect for that shot.
