View Full Version : AB choices
TrunkZ69 01-05-2002, 12:38 AM Which should i get, an AB 900 or Rasmussen. I just wanna know which one you would get. I never really tried a Rasmussen, but i think the 900 is pretty nice. I'm leaning towards it a bit more. I'm just not sure i reallly want it.
I'd definately go for the AB 900! Way more power! You'll love it!
Brett 01-06-2002, 12:44 AM Trunk, you've been around this forum long enough to know better than post a bare bones question like that. You should be providing details about your game and about what you are looking for in a new racquet. How is anyone supposed to give you an intelligent answer to your question if you don't provide them with enough details to make a rational assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of a racquet for your particular criteria. You see, you didn't list any criteria at all - just "which is better?"
TrunkZ69 01-06-2002, 03:05 AM no, im not talking about my game. i just wanna know in general which you prefer and why. i just wanna see your reasons for liking what you like.
Ya, he's just asking which one is physically the better racquet!
Josh,
How long is a piece of string?
I have had both racquets. In my opinion, the Rasmussen offers slightly better control for the more technical player, but if you need a little extra help with power production you'll probably like the 900. As Brett says, it all depends on what you're after.
Mag,
Dont go hunting man! Just spare That Kid! I stopped writing at Coulums that he writes in!
Yogi, I assume that was intended as a reply to my reply to Josh, not TrunkZ.
My intention was never to "hunt" Josh. All posters should be welcomed by everyone. If you want to ignore somebodys postings, then fine, that's up to you.
I was just trying to make Josh see that the question is as pointless to ask as it is impossible to answer.
Mag, now I see your point. Sorry for contridicting you!! Oh and yogi, I'M NOT A KID, just so you know.
Well, It's a bit of lottery what you get when buying a Carlton.
I have two 900s with the same strings and the older is definitely better. For a reason or other my smashes are a lot more powerfull with that one. Perhaps one reason is that the older one is (I assume) made in China and the newer one in Taiwan. So they are actually different models although the same label.
Yes, that's been discussed here before. They changed factory, unfortunately that meant that the characteristics changed too. If I were to get a Carlton today, I'd either get an old (China-made) AB, or even better perhaps, get one of the AS series.
