Please write down who do u think will win for this year's national junior circuit.

My prediction,

U-14 boy's singles = Zulfadli (Selangor)
U-14 girl's singles = Yang Li Lian (Selangor)
U-16 boy's singles = Not too sure
U-16 girl's singles = Tee Jing Yee (Penang)
U-18 girl's singles = Vivian Ho (KL)
U-18 boy's singla = unpredictable

well, for boy's singles U-15 Zulfadli will most probably win cos he's been winning all these while.Teo Ee Yee and Azryn is a little bit slow for Zulfadli.....plus Hanafi (Terengganu) left BJSS...
Girl's U-15 singles,i think Yang Li Lian has a high chance of winning as i predict she'll be the 1st seed but gonna have tough fight from Tan Khong Yann and Sonia Cheah
Boy's singles U-16 and 18 is unpredictable.......cos all of them are almost at the same level but ofcos i will like Shawal to win.
Girl's U-16 goes to Tee Jing Yee ofcos......no fight
Girl's U-18 will definately be Vivian cos she has got fight with Lydia Cheah although Lydia is older than her. They played 3 sets in KL open 2006 and it was neck to neck......

Yeah,i definitely think that Zulfadli's gonna win. He has it all.Too bad he is not in BJSS
Yang Li Lian is also going to win as she improving. She use to be anonymous when she was 12.Then "BOOM" she won Sonia Cheah and Tan Khong Yan in Milo Cup 2005.Then she was the only 13 yr old girl in last yr's gp semi final and the youngest q finalist in KL open 2006.She's improving.
Shawal is gonna win for under 16 i guess.
Tee Jing Yee!!!This one dun need to say already.Sure win
Vivian Ho i'm not so sure. Many other good players too but she has got a high chance.
under 18 boys singles i cant predict as well. Too competative..

My prediction
Boy's singles
U-14 = Zulfadli / Teo Ee Yee
U-16 = No idea
U-18 = Iskandar Zulkarnain

Girl's singles
U-14 = Yang Li Lian/Sonia
U-16 = Tee Jing Yee
U-18 = Tiffany Chase

Although Teo Ee Yee might not be as good as Zul but he's gonna give a tough fight.
YEAH!!Iskandar's gonna win
Yang Li Lian has got the talent but Sonia has got "back-up" and "exelent draw"
Tee Jing Yee is clumsy at times but only Chuah Sin Lui can give a fight
I really hope Tiffany wins

U-14 Boys singles. Zulfadli's so talented he should be competing in the U-16 category where he belongs. hint hint

Maybe he'll win it.

Any of u guys know when is it going to be held?? I went there last yr n wow!! Such an amazing match. Anywayz, really admire Zulfadzli's skills. He plays like a pro.. Same goes to Yang Li Lian. Good footwork and court coverage. I guess they r both rising stars...

I hope all the players from selelangor can win.....
Zulfadli,Yang Li Lian, Wong Kin Yik, Ng Hui Earn, Ng Hui Lin and Chiang....
what happened to Hui Lin?She hasnt been in action for a while now....She should play doubles with Khee Wei.Both Khee Wei and Hui Lin play better doubles than Lydia.

Sonia should win under-14... She beat Li Lian in MSSM..

But from what i heard,Yang Li Lian wins Sonia all the time. That is why i was supprised that she lost to sonia in MSSM. If sonia has a higher ranking than Yang Li Lian in BJSS,the school will not send Li Lian and not her for GP final last year.

Well,i guess that's the beauty of competition......
Just like Lim Pei Xuan and Tan Khong Yann.....
Tan Khong Yan is a better player but loses to Lim Pei Xuan during competition.

I just happen to realise Lydia and Sonia has got the power of getting really really good draw.....They always got seed in competitions.Just like when sonia was 12,she hasnt won any tournament and yet got 1st seed in MSSM.But loses to Goh Yi Qian in 1/8.Kinda wonder why....."hint hint"

From what i heard, Hui Lin is chosen to major in mixed doubles event, just like khee wei. ( i read it in the star newspaper ). They might be partnering i guess. They both make good doubles player. Lydia is not so much of a double player.

y r we so bothered about under 18 girls??we shud focus more on under 18 boys instead. doubles esp.like KKK and TBH. (GO,GO,GO!!!) they r more competitive internationallly. The only girl who i can recall to make a fame at international level is Wong Mew Choo. Hopefully they can produce more of her. But no sign of any rising under 18 girls junior star right now. WMC's level is too far apart from the junior players.

kkk and tbh above 18 already.. haha.. and the under-18 girls standard is already quite high now... tee jing yi and tiffany currier are potential wong mew choos. lydia is already making a name for herself at such a young age. and there's woon khe wei in the mixed doubles.. for the guys, arif latif and vountus indra mawan seem to have a brighter-looking future compared to the other project squad players.. and there's Zulkifli Zulfadli. That guy is O.O. Haha..

AmandaMun
05-04-2007, 07:20 PM
Haha....Tee Jing Yi and Tiffany is not up to that "standard" yet. But hope that they'll improve. As for Lydia and Khee Wei,it was just a brief shining moment.Just like any other malaysia player, they can only win in their own country. When i say win,i dont mean "champion".They just manage to get futher in the competition.Haih~~why???Same to LCW and WMC. As what the newspaper says "juara kampung".Worse is,they(Lydia and Khee Wei) didnt even make themselves "juara" yet. Naib juara kampung i should say.....hope to see them perform better for the asian and world junior champion.

Based on the pahang open 2007.I can roughly predict the winner for the junior circuit.

BS-U18= Teo Kok Siang
GS-U18= Vivian Ho
BS-U16 = Jonathan Lee Yu Xuan
GS-U16 = Tee Jing Yi
BS-U14 = Zulfadli
GS-U14 = Yang Li Lian

This is my latest prediction based on what i've seen from Pahang Open 2007.

wow..... looks like u dislike both of them. and u wrote as if u have alot of inside info.

I happen to like Lydia and Sonia and I dont think its fair comment. Sonia won the two southern circuit which is held in Melaka and KL when she is twelve while Tan Khong Yuen and Lim Pei Xuan won one each. That account for the top seed position in the MSSM.

Lydia won the under 15 and 18 MSSM title. that is why she is top seed.

Sonia won Yang Li Lian in the one of the tournament held in KL last year and she won her again in the MSSM U 15 this year.

I believe that both of them are equally good as I saw them played the Pahang Open this year. Though Sonia lost in the quarter, she displayed guts and spirit for a 14 years old. She has fine skill. She played Flora of Sabah who is much older and stronger than her, She stretched her to 3 sets and i feel thats good enough.

How i wish i am related to them. Yes I follow their progress very closely as i have a son who love badminton and who is a fan of Lydia Cheah. I luv badminton too.

What I am surprise is that why u seem to be a little biased toward these two kids.Have they offended u in anyway that u wrote such forum

If that's what u think, then when it looks like Khe Wei,Tiffany and Tee Jing Yi offended me too. Hahahahahaha..........I'm glad to know that there is someone who actually supports our own malaysian team. Cheers:)

Y most of the issues are about lydia and sonia? Haha. I know lydia..saw her in Pahang Open recently. Unfortunately lost to Vivian Ho. She played well in the second game but gosh, who knows what happen in the final set.. Is sonia lydia's sister btw? She is the one who played in the singles semi final with Tiffany during the recent Pahang Open rite? Damn..she's very good for her age of 14 then..

Yeap.Sonia's Lydia Cheah's sister. But think she lost in the quaterfinals to Flora durin the recent Pahang Open. I wuz there but cant recall the score though..it wuz strectched till 3 games but Flora took complete control of the game in the final set.
Anyway, the girl who u r mentioning in the semi's is Yang Li Lian!!hahaha. Yea~she is a really good player. Very skillfull n graceful on court. She had improved a lot since the first time i saw her in the Selangor Closed 2004. And she is very cute as well.. always with her sweet smile.. V^V hehe. OMG,i thnk i might sounded like her no.1 fan..hahahaha..

Thats right we are all here to support the Malaysian Team. There should not be malicious comment that could spoilt any players reputation.

Keep going Junior.... U r our future.

The discussion seems to have ended for quite some time. But the tournament is now entering the Finals.

http://www.bam.org.my:8080/NationalJuniorGrandFinals2007/upload/results/daily_results.html

in the U16 GS category, the State Trained Sabah Girl I mentioned is now just 1 more step away from taking the U16 title but will have to beat a very worthy oponent in Tee Jing Yi. Good Luck Florah.

Another note is 17 year old Asry Abas of Sabah made it into the finals of the U18 BS category and will face Kuan Kam Chung for the title.

If Kedah is the power house of Malaysian Badminton, no doubt Sabah is very fast catching up.

Overall very good performances from the State based players. No BJSS dominance seen throughout the tournament save the doubles category where they have the luxury of combining partnering players from a large pool of 'talent'.

This as usual puts great pressure to the BJSS national youth squad as they are sitting on tax payers money. Expect alot of 'recruitment excercizes' to take place in the following months.

Almost one year down the road, Lydia Cheah & Khe Wei has made the Uber Cup squad. Khe Wei & Wee Kiong won Asia Juniors XD.

Tee JY at 17 also made the Uber Cup squad after her impressive performance in National GP in both WS & WD. Though she didnt win, bright future for our Msia WS.

LCW won SS titles and WMC stepped up her game a notch to win her 1st SS title.

Interesting how "juara kampung"s & "Naib juara kampung" have improved in 1 year.

we should be fair to both women and men players...not because they have no result(at that moment)...then they should be ignore...in chinese phase...this call:want horse to be good but didnt let it to eat grass...

hmm...we should support malaysia female badminton player just like how we support malaysia male player...

peace...^^...
