View Full Version : Smiling Fish Thailand International Series, May 1-6 Sandy 04-27-2007, 11:54 PM here is link of the Draw http://www.badmintonasia.org/event_details.aspx?eventID=89 huangkwokhau 04-29-2007, 09:55 AM I met and talked to Yuan Kartika on saturday morning at the airport on the way to Thailand...I was on the way to Hong Kong...she told me that there are 13 of them but in the draw it is more than 13...may be some from Jarum??? Sandy 04-29-2007, 03:02 PM I met and talked to Yuan Kartika on saturday morning at the airport on the way to Thailand...I was on the way to Hong Kong...she told me that there are 13 of them but in the draw it is more than 13...may be some from Jarum??? I count Pelatnas send 15 players, any players withdrew or Fernando/Subakti play for Djarum ? The Others are 8 Djarum and 2 Jaya Raya. huangkwokhau 04-29-2007, 07:07 PM Thanks sandy....I asked her which tournaments Pelatnas will send them after Indo Open..she said ..may be NZ or Vietnam.....any info from jarum/Jaya raya...I am glad that clubs send those youngters....I have along talk with Yayuk Basuki...she is satgas for Badminton/tennis meja/softball/baseball/takraw and tennis..she praised Jarum a lot being so active in badminton as it is red ligght for indo's badminton....honestly many crises in our sport management...so sad....from tennis to badminton Sandy 04-29-2007, 09:40 PM Thanks sandy....I asked her which tournaments Pelatnas will send them after Indo Open..she said ..may be NZ or Vietnam.....any info from jarum/Jaya raya...I am glad that clubs send those youngters....I have along talk with Yayuk Basuki...she is satgas for Badminton/tennis meja/softball/baseball/takraw and tennis..she praised Jarum a lot being so active in badminton as it is red ligght for indo's badminton....honestly many crises in our sport management...so sad....from tennis to badminton For long time, PBSI has been known as well sport association, much different style with other association. After crisis their performance went down, poor players sending management and youngster development. Djarum is one of badminton club which take care on young players development and send them in some international event. Not surprised some Djarum players keep stay train in club or left Pelatnas and back to club. I think Djarum will send players to Viet Nam with different squad, my prediction (Andre, Ari, Sylvinna, Rosaria, Maria Elfira, Sigit/Frans, Meliana/Shendy and maybe the "new" pair Yonathan/Rian Sukmawan) Indonesian Tennis isn't better, after Wynne Prakusya retired and Angelique Widjaja got long time injury. Hopeless until new star born, maybe the next hope in 13-14 y.o. girl, Isopora (I mean Grace Sari Ysadora, he he) badMania 04-30-2007, 12:11 AM I think Djarum will send players to Viet Nam with different squad, my prediction (Andre, Ari, Sylvinna, Rosaria, Maria Elfira, Sigit/Frans, Meliana/Shendy and maybe the "new" pair Yonathan/Rian Sukmawan) U mean Yonathan Suryatama also quits from Pelatnas? What happens to Eng Hian then? Since Rian/Eng Hian is well-placed for the World Championships, I am wondering if PBSI is sending them there? Sandy 04-30-2007, 01:32 AM U mean Yonathan Suryatama also quits from Pelatnas? What happens to Eng Hian then? Since Rian/Eng Hian is well-placed for the World Championships, I am wondering if PBSI is sending them there? I read it in bulutangkis.com, Yonathan quits from Pelatnas and maybe paired with Rian. I'm also not agree if Djarum split Eng Hian/Rian pair, they have good ranking and it's good for up-grade Rian's level. In some smaller tournament Rian paired with other player like Ade Lukas, Titon Bustaman, etc. Yonathan should be paired again with Alroy Tanama Putra (HKG) if posible, they had good record when junior. yannie 04-30-2007, 02:19 AM U mean Yonathan Suryatama also quits from Pelatnas? What happens to Eng Hian then? Since Rian/Eng Hian is well-placed for the World Championships, I am wondering if PBSI is sending them there? After Indonesia Open, Eng Hian might consider to retire. It's most possible for Rian to be paired up with Yonathan. Perhaps they'll become Indonesia/Djarum's version of KKK-TBH? ;) Dunno whether they're going to WC in KL or not. :crying: I think nope.. badMania 04-30-2007, 03:26 AM Sigh...look's like Pelatnas young players now consider it better for their future to quite the Pelatnas and re-join their club  Yonathan/Rian could potentially become good.... yannie 04-30-2007, 03:27 AM Sigh...look's like Pelatnas young players now consider it better for their future to quite the Pelatnas and re-join their club  Yonathan/Rian could potentially become good.... They are welcome to come to Denmark (or England like Flandy/Eng Hian) to play too.. :p Krisna 04-30-2007, 04:00 AM From what I heard, Djarum had no choice but disband the Rian-Eng Hian pair because Eng Hian retired from competitive badminton and take up the Singapore Elite Doubles coaching job. Eng Hian will coach Hendra-Hendri, Li Yujia etc. :crying: ...starting July. Oh well, I can understand Eng Hian's position, he has been with PB Djarum and playing competitive badminton since he was 13 or something. He has contributed an Olympic bronze medal for Indonesia, won almost all the major GP tournaments [not the World Championship and All England], and reach the #1 world ranking etc. He is 30 [I think], he's pretty much all done with competitive badminton, has a family to support, need stability, and the Singapore coaching job opened, he jumped on it... ;) yannie 04-30-2007, 04:05 AM From what I heard, Djarum had no choice but disband the Rian-Eng Hian pair because Eng Hian retired from competitive badminton and take up the Singapore Elite Doubles coaching job. But that sounds like a very good job for him though. Good luck, Eng Hian...... Krisna 04-30-2007, 04:26 AM Belaetrix M. who is playing in WS and WD in this Thailand Series is from PB Jaya Raya. She was runner up to Sylvinna Kurniawan of Djarum at the 2006 National Junior Championship in Medan. That finals was one of the most terrific match I ever witnessed... the score was er... something like 23-21, 20-22, 25-23 for Sylvi... The match went on for more than one hour, going back and forth, back and forth... So crazy! Belaetrix was cramping and limping when she played her second match of the day with Samantha Lintang in the Junior Doubles beating Luluk-Debby of Djarum. That match also went for more than one hour with Belaetrix-Samantha prevailing.... This week Belaetrix-Samantha is in Thailand... It is good that PB Jaya Raya is joining in the fray, along with PB Djarum in developing prospective youngsters by taking additional steps, not just relying on Pelatnas... huangkwokhau 04-30-2007, 05:27 AM Why Singapore always take Indonesian players...just this week,,,one Indoneisna plays for Singapore won Walikota Surabaya cup...this is what exactly we talk ( me and Yayuk) that Indo governemnts should think some lifetime salary for players who win Olympics or any Asian games...like bang Soo Yun got US$ 1000 monthly or more ..lifetime...not bad..!! Krisna 04-30-2007, 06:25 AM The Indonesian government cannot promise such "lifetime athlete benefits" because we might not have the budget for it in the coming decades...:p Better to increase the promotional/endorsement environment, more prize money [more $$$ for the athlete] like in the US. Note: the US government do not give "lifetime athlete benefits", but I think those successful athletes who can save money had saved enough to enjoy the rest of their lives... [I am not talking about Mike Tyson here, he could manage to blow away his $ 400 million somehow...] And... 0% tax rate on athlete income. :D Anyway, let's not talk about this anymore, this thread is about the Thailand Series, he he he... :p Krisna 04-30-2007, 06:34 AM Bandar Sigit Pamungkas vs. Lim Fang Yang Wisnu Haryo Putro vs. Wong Wai Hong [4] Indra Bagus vs. Chew Koe Seang Dionysius Hayom Rumbaka vs. Hung Yuk Wong [8] Nugroho Andi Saputro vs. Loo Yik Xiang My winner prediction in bold... badMania 04-30-2007, 07:11 AM Here's the news on the possible pairing up of Yonathan with Rian, both of which are still young and have a bright future ahead of them. From kimpe_bultang (Jessica): Yoga-Yoke, Greysia-Vita will only play together until Indonesia Open. Yoga: Might be joining Singapore. Yoke: Pairing up with Rian. Greysia: Asked her coach to change partner, maybe partnering with Jo Novita. Vita: Concentrating on XD? huangkwokhau 05-02-2007, 07:27 PM no updated result yet in website...so slow.... Krisna 05-03-2007, 02:22 AM I don't have details, but I heard that almost all the Indonesians who competed yesterday in MS and WS first round have gone through to the next round... Including Wisnu [whom I predict shall loose in the first round]... He he he... Good. I am glad I am wrong. Go INA! :D huangkwokhau 05-03-2007, 06:35 AM I don't have details, but I heard that almost all the Indonesians who competed yesterday in MS and WS first round have gone through to the next round... Go INA! :D Thats good news....pls send them SMS...I wish I asked Yuan's cellphone number :( :( Krisna 05-04-2007, 12:39 AM Indonesians in the Quarterfinals tonight: MS Bandar Sigit Pamungkas, got passed the draw which include Mattias Wigardt [#6 seed from Sweden]. Today, Bandar will play Poompat Sapkulchananart [#1 seed from Thailand] today. Bandar is still 18 and the youngest National Team member. Wisnu Haryo Putro, who have defeated Wong Wai Hong [#4 seed from HK] and a Thai player. Wisnu is only 19, I think. Nugroho Andi Saputro, who have defeated Loo Yik Xiang [MAS] and Magnus Sahlberg [#2 seed from Sweden]. Nugroho is the 2006 Singles National Junior Champion. He will play in the Asian and World Juniors this year. WS Aprillia Yuswandari, will play Soratja [#1 seed from Thailand] today. Soratja defeated Maria Febe in rubber sets yesterday. Aprillia is the 2007 German Juniors winner. :) Maria Febe is the 2007 Dutch Juniors champ. :) MD Wifqi-Alfiat, who have defeated a Thai pair and then Lo Lok Kei-Leung Chun Yiu [#4 seed from HK] yesterday. Wifqi-Alfiat were in the 2006 Doubles National Junior finals but with different partners. Alfiat was the champion with Danni Bawa. Bona-Ahsan [#2 seed] defeated a Thai MD pair yesterday. XD Tantowi-Yulianti and Lingga-Devi are in the XD quarterfinals. :D Sorry, I have no news on Indonesia's WD... My friend who informs me of all this ...does not pay any attention to the WD games. :p Beleatrix, Yuan Kartika, Indra Bagus, Dyonisius Hayom Rumbaka, Maria Febe, Tantowi-Devi MD, Fernando-Subakti MD, Alfiat-Luluk XD, and Wifqi-Debby XD all lost by last night... :o Sandy 05-04-2007, 01:25 AM Bandar Sigit Pamungkas, got passed the draw which include Mattias Wigardt [#6 seed from Sweden]. Bandar is still 18 and the youngest National Team member. Thank's for the info I think Bandar was born in December 1990, he is still 16 y.o. Krisna 05-04-2007, 02:54 AM Ooh, so young.... 16? Sandy 05-04-2007, 03:27 AM I noticed a few players who around this age like Saina Nehwal, Lidya Cheah, Maria Febe also Xing Aiying are born in 1990. I predict others SIN players like Fu Mingtian, Gu Juan & Zhan Beiwen are younger than Xing. Tee Jing Yi of Malaysia also very young, maybe born 1992. Indonesia has Febby Angguni (born 1991). But all these young players are girl huangkwokhau 05-04-2007, 08:02 AM Indonesians in the Quarterfinals tonight: MS Bandar Sigit Pamungkas, got passed the draw which include Mattias Wigardt [#6 seed from Sweden]. I was tempted to call them last nite thru hotel Krisna 05-04-2007, 01:04 PM Latest news from Trang, Thailand: Wisnu Haryo Putro through to the semifinals. Nugroho Andi Saputro lost. Bona-Ahsan and Wifqi-Alfiat both won and will meet each other in the semifinals tmrw... huangkwokhau 05-04-2007, 03:47 PM Latest news from Trang, Thailand: Wisnu Haryo Putro through to the semifinals. Wisnu lost 21-15, 10-21, 10-21 to the Thai first seed, Sapkulchananart Poompat. MS Finals All Thai finals. The Thai 2nd layer singles are getting better and better... I hope these guys are sent to the Indonesian Challenge later on this year... I want to see them against our 2nd layer such as Tommy Sugiarto, Andreas Adityawarman, Andre Kurniawan, Yunus Alamsyah, Jeffer Rosobin, etc... ;) WD Finals All INA finals. But there are reports that Beleatrix-Samantha might not play because their tickets are scheduled for tomorrow before the finals match... [they didn't expect to go this far...]. Singapore Airlines' office is already closed at this hour. The other pair... I'm not sure because my friend does not pay a lot of attention to this category, but if it is an all INA finals and one of the pair is Beleatrix-Samantha, then I suppose the other pair is Yulianti-Richi Puspita Dili; my logical deduction after looking at the draw. MD Finals Bona-Ahsan is in the finals after defeating Wifqi-Alfiat 21-18, 22-20. They will next play Alroy Tanama Putra-Hui Wai Ho [Hong Kong]. XD Finals Yulianti-Tantowi played very well and entered the finals. They will play Thitipong Lapoe-Savittree Amitpai of Thailand. Krisna 05-05-2007, 11:58 AM Oops, sorry, I put my comments on Wisnu on the WS finals. Wisnu is a MS player. Sorry. :p badMania 05-06-2007, 09:29 AM Bona Septano/Mohd Ahsan started to establish themselves as the 4th ranked pair in Pelatnas, now that Yoga/Yonathan are going to be split up. Tantowi/Yulianti also show good progress in the satellite tourneys. It's probably time for them to step up a level? badMania 05-07-2007, 12:26 AM FINAL Results Men's Singles: Poompat Sapkulchananart bt Pakawak Vilailat 21-13, 21-13 Men's Doubles: Hui Wai Ho/Alroy Tanama Putra bt Bona Septano/Mohd Ahsan 21-18, 21-18 -- too bad...the Pelatnas pair lost. They will be competing in the NZ Open next. Women's Singles: Salakjit Ponsana bt Soratja Chansrisukot 12-21, 21-4, 21-14 -- double joy for the Ponsana family yesterday as the younger sister triumphed at home as well. Women's Doubles: Dili Richi Puspita/Yulianti bt Belaetrix Manuputi/Samantha Lintang w.o. Mixed Doubles: Ahmad Tantowi/Yulianti bt Thitipong Latoe/Savittree Amitpai 21-17, 17-21, 21-17 -- another title for Tantowi/Yulianti in the Satellite-level tourneys...they will be a good backup pair. Krisna 05-07-2007, 04:15 AM Thanks for the info... :) I suppose the story of Belaetrix-Samantha having ticketing problems are quite true. Yulianti-Richi won with a walkout. Lucky Yulianti collected 2 titles... :D |
