I am impressed by the Thai XD performances.Sudket was a great player but his partner has to improve as she always has problem in front of the net.Anyway,i am happy to see another new face in the XD.This thai pair has to be watch out in the future.I am happy too Boonsak won the match.Tomorrow i will be rooting for him and of course CCF/LWW.

The 1st 2 sets were ok, but unforunately they made too many mistakes during end of the 2nd set. After that, they couldnt keep up the speed during 3rd set and lost their confidence.

Their head to head record is 4:1 with the Malaysians having the upper hand. The Malaysians won the last 2 meetings at the HK Open 06 and the China Masters 05, while the Chinese beat them once in the Singapore Open 05.

...on the Semifinals day...Wow, this has got to be the most unpredictable SS tourney so far this yr, and we're not even halfway thru all of them..:rolleyes: :p ;)

Anyways, here are some comments from me:

- Arguably the upset of the day as Gade lost a hard-fought but thrilling 3 setters to the gritty Chen Yu. The 2nd set must've been quite nerve-wrecking, but i guess it took a bit out of Gade in the 3rd set.
- Same story goes for INA's top seeded XD pair as they lost in 3 sets to their compatriots. They're almost even, that I think with this result and next week's result in the IO, we probably can gauge which pair should be INA's 1st XD pair for the upcoming Sudirman Cup.:cool:
- And of course, arguably, the match of the day between between TG&CW vs. FHF&CY. That 2nd set ending must be quite dramatic, esp. with the INA/USA pair 1 pt away from winning the match, after a supposed close/questionable serve that landed on the line. But the CHN pair never let it bothered them and went on the offensive, closing the set with fury. And their 2nd set momentum definitely carried over to the 3rd set where they simply stepped on the pedal & cruised to victory, not letting any chance for the veterans to regain any momentum. Tough luck again for the veteran INA/USA pair, as this is probably their very-close defeats in all 5 of their SS events.:p
- As i mentioned in one of my post in the SO QF's thread and in another earlier post in this thread, i personally wouldn't count out FHF&CY nor the MAS pair. I think the MAS MD veterans definitely took advantage against their young & faster-yet-lacking-in-experience opponents. They simply didn't let up and eliminated all chances for a 3rd set against theie younger opponents. And as a result they won in a very efficient fashion, winning in straight sets and reaching their second straight Finals in as many tournament.;)

Anyhoo, will the upsets and surprises continue onto the Finals day??..we shall wait and find out..;) :cool:
