Hi,
Every time I play against this certain opponent he is always lifting the shuttle to the back of the court, and every time I do a shot like a drop or a smash he keeps lifting it there until I eventually miss or hit it into the net, how can I overcome this?
Thanks in advance for any help! :D:D

lol it means you need to improve your footwork, and also your smashes, continuous lifting only works on beginners who have bad footwork and weak smashes. And learn to do full-length clears that go all the way to the back of your opponents court.

you should be thanking him for it. every lift he does means you're on the attack and he's not. keep dropping left and right, theen put in a few smashes. if they're low, leap up and clip it down as steep as possible, disregarding speed and power. throw in flat clears.

Yup, you should be thanking him as he's obviously not playing at maximum ability, instead, he is lengthening the rallies by lifting... usually, better opponents do that in the 2nd game after they beat me 15-3 in the first :)

if you can hit a full clear, then try doing that, as that will push him back, then smash/drive at the sides or at his body, that might work

You should be thanking him for giving you free badminton coaching. What he's doing is what the coaches do in training classes anyway.
Practice, practice and practice... You'll learn to drop more accurately, or hit a high clear back to his baseline. That's how the pros train.. 500 of the same shots everyday.

I think that once you get better, he's gonna make you suffer more. :P
Don't get too used to being at the back of the court. Always return to the center. I expect that one day he'll just dropshot you when you're at the back. And don't smash too much also, it's energy consuming and returns as a dropshot faster, giving you less time to recover.
