If we spend more on the use of shuttles, the cost will be passed on to the our members.

So, at the end of your game, if the shuttle is still good, place that good shuttle under the net, in the middle of the court.

The next lot of players should warm up with older shuttles from the tray.

Hi all,

As Chris mentioned above we are looking for ideas for the Sunday session. Personally I'd prefer the regular social play or if someone's willing to get a little serious I need to do some drill work and need a partner.

If you can come along on Sunday please add your contributions to this thread.

I should be able to come on Sunday but I won't be able to confirm until closer date, let's say next Sunday. :p :p :p ......shouldn't have any problem. As for serious drill work, I prefer to play game of single instead, until someone drop dead. Care to join me, DP. :D

That's great idea!! Maybe some people who are in wed day coaching would be happy to come in on sunday to do drills.

That would mean guranteed attendance!

Hi NaNo-TiMe,

You have just reminded me to ask you :):):) "Do you want coaching on Sunday ?".

As you are way down, 7th in line, in our Wednesday CATS Waiting List, you might want to commence coaching at our Sunday CCC@Waverley session.

So far, we have 3 interested... and we are waiting for the 4th... before we commence.

Our Sunday CCC@Waverley could be organised with;
1 court for Coaching,
1 court for Social Games, and
2 courts for League Games.

Please let me know.

Perhaps, we could encourage hkhung (or anyone interested) to organise a CCC League Games Trial #4, for players with handicaps from +8 to 0, occurring the same time with the CCC League Games Trial #3.

Since there's no thread for trial league and trial league is on sunday, i am in the right thread, rite?

Chris, knowing what went down with me on getting people to highvale, you still want me to organise?

Seriously, many members from section 3 miss the friendly against highvale so i think they would be interested in something like this.

DoublesPlease can also help to ask people this+next wed day, if it was gonna happen next sunday.

Well if all systems are go, this is what i need
- discuss structure of the trial match (if section 3 were playing amogst section 3, i think dividing people in teams is good)
- section 3 members email + phone no
- me+Peter (read underneath) get people start talking about this

I think the best way to go about this is tell everybody about the trial league and then depending on their sections we put them into groups.

So we can be flexible if we got 13 people from section 1+2 and 11 people from section 3, we can move the guy at bottom of section 2 to join the trial with section 3.

In all, i need everybody's help to organise this!

Greetings,

A question has been asked about our CCC Sunday Night@Waverley.

Is CCC Sunday Night meant to be

for Social Games, or

for League Games, or

for CATS (Coaching And Training Sessions)?

Answer:

CCC Badminton was formed in the hope that it will help more people enjoy playing Badminton.

So, it is not important how we will structure or organise it (at the moment).

Let us all turn up.

Let us just enjoy our Badminton !!! :):):)

On Sunday 20-May-2007, our 'Launching Night', there will be a bit of everything;

* chris@ccc will be answering questions about our CATS (Coaching And Training Sessions)

* DoublesPlease will be answering questions about our CCC League Games

* helmut will be answering questions about our CCC Social Games

And we hope to meet many new players who have never been to CCC Badminton.

Chris, i have 2 questions regarding to sunday CATS

- since it's chapter 18 on wednedsay last wednesday CATS, would you consider bringing sunday CATS in line to either sunday or wednesday CATS.

- if i join sunday CATS, does it mean that i have to give up my wednesday CATS spot completely. Which means if i want to join wednesday instead of sunday in 6 months time i have to start being on end of queue.

Cos you see i have another 5 weeks till i can join wednesday and i am thinking of joining sunday CATS for the next couple of weeks.

sorry chris, must be dreaming of sunday CCC, just wake up with loads of questions.

I'd like to join the Sunday CCC Social nights, but because of studying, I don't know if I can (every Sunday of the year). My break begins during the middle of next week though, so I'll see you all on Friday and/or Sunday next week.

*helmut said he will make generic labels for our CCC Handicapped Games.I was thinking about this a few weeks ago, please tell me more Helmut...
Ahhh wait... *Monica makes a fascinating discovery after browsing other threads*

Hi everyone@ccc,

Please be informed that helmut will be introducing a new scoring/recording system for our CCC Handicapped Games on Friday 25-May-2007. :):):)

He will make generic labels for our CCC players. And he will explain to us how it will work, on Friday 25-May-2007.

PS: This helmut's system was first tested at our Sunday CCC@Waverley session on 20-May-2007.

Hi everyone@ccc,

27-May-2007 is our CCC@Waverley Sunday Session #2. CONGRATULATIONS !!!

Events to be held on Sunday 27-May-2007

Event #1: CCC Handicapped Games (on Courts No.1 & 2)

*As posted by helmut, we will try a New Recording System.

*Arrive earlier to listen to helmut's explanation if you are not sure about it.

*Below, I have added highlights and a few more comments to helmut's post;-

It's simple:
1. At the beginning of the night, write your name on the sticker along with your start handicap into the top left box.
2. As you come off the court record your new handicap into the next field on the sticker, going from left to right, starting from the top row.
3. Queue as usual (but you may move ahead in the queue if you are two or more games behind your front person) .
4. At the end of the night, write your final handicap into the top right box.
5. Each player records their individual scores, even when playing Doubles.

*For a look at the New Recording System, please refer to post located at:

http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?p=581311#post581311

We have created this new system (as discussed @Suppertime) to meet the requests by some players wishing to be allowed to form ad-hoc partnerships and to play the odd Single's in between. :):):)

Also, please note that our CCC Handicaps are now posted at:

http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=43979

Event #2: CCC League Games Trial #3 (on Courts No.3 & 4)

*We have, from our Section 1 players, 8 participants (plus 1 reserve) playing in this event.

*For more info, please read our thread, CCC League Games Trial #3 - Sunday 27th May located at:

http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=43486

Don't forget: We are going for Supper(wine-and-dine) at Kingsways, Glen Waverley, after every Social Session.

And may more ideas be suggested at Suppertime@CCC. :):):)

hkhung, a word of advise. This is a forum not a Chat Room. Please try to post constructively. Your above post is not necessary. So are some of your previous posts. I know some of my posts are senseless as well, that's why I have "self-contained" myself these days, hopefully only posting something useful. Try to make CCC threads more useful.

Dear All at CCC,

Thanks for the wonderful badminton on Sunday night. I'm sorry I couldn't give you all a better game. The meal was pretty good as well. I am only now just starting to physically recover from the whole trip.

The day after, I had to have a dinner engagement and my research which I presented at the conference was awarded the prize for best free paper. Having my name announced and standing up in front of nearly a thousand people was nearly (but not quite:D) as amazing as playing in CCC. As you can imagine, I didn't get any rest on Monday night either. Hence my physically drained condition by the time I got back to Hong Kong.

What this means is I have to train more - no worries, wine seems to be just as good for electrolyte replacement!!!

Your hospitality on Sunday was overwhelming - Thank You!!!:D

maybe cut the no of games in each tie into best of 1 instead of best of 3. so finish off early, then everybody can play with everybody.

Chris, can you check whether the price for AT900T is still $220 without strings and whether your supplier has one in stock? :)

Hi Hagane,

Our CCC supplier has one in stock and has delivered your AT900-Technique to me. :):):)

I will bring it for you when we meet at our CCC@Waverley session this Sunday 1-July-2007.

Details of racket:

Many thanks, Chris.

Wondering whether you're able to bring it to your MSAC session, as I'd be playing there in the morning? :D

It's OK to pick it up at night, but just wondering :D:D

Hi Chris,

Since CATS was canceled today (2 July), I will take up my spot again this Wednesday (4 July). However, if you can confirm that CATS will definitely start this coming Sunday (8 July) I will not come this Wednesday (4 July). I would love to start CATS on Sundays as my other commitments are taking up more Wednesdays; especially next Wednesday (11 July) when I have volunteer work.

I will be waiting for your good news. :)

Hi yc_11,

Welcome to Badminton Central & to our CCC Forum !!! :):):)

Firstly, we must apologise to you that we had to cancel our Sunday CATS on 1-July-2007. :o:o:o

What we expected for Sunday 1-July-2007 was;
12 CCC League Players (2 courts allocated)
4 Sunday CATS Trainees (1 court allocated)
6 CCC Social Players (1 court allocated)

But what we got was;
12 CCC League Players
3 Sunday CATS Trainees
14 CCC Social Players...... very, very unusual !!! :o:o:o

Realising that 1 court cannot manage our 14 CCC Social Players, hence we had to cancel our Sunday CATS.

You were so ready for our Sunday CATS...... so we know that you were very disappointed that it was cancelled.

Anyway... you have heard me explaining to all our CCC Social Players to inform us via Badminton Central about their attendances for all our coming Sunday Social.

So sorry to you again... but we will see you at our Wednesday CATS on 4-July-2007. And hope by then, we will get a rough idea what will happen to our next Sunday Session on 8-July-2007.

We will now wait to hear from our Sunday Social Players to inform us about their coming attendances.

Also, to our other two Sunday CATS Trainees, Lakshman-S and Krishna-S, our apologies to both of you too... when you turned up, and we had to cancel the Sunday CATS. :o:o:o

And to our 4th Sunday CATS Trainees, Prakash-R,... How come you were missing :confused::confused:

Cheers... chris@ccc

To all members:

i wonder how can we manage ourselves for social games for future sunday this besides

- putting down names on this discussion board themselves
- for the people who come wed/friday and don't use computer, telling other people to put their name down on the board. I am happy to do this

Greetings members@ccc,

Because of the poorer participation@ccc in our last 2 months of Winter 2007 (June & July), we are required to increase our fees for our sessions.

The fee for members@ccc will rise from $6 to $8.
The fee for visitors@ccc will rise from $10 to $13.

All new fees will apply from 1-August-2007.

Some months ago, HandsFull suggested that we should not drop our session fees... but we did not listen to him. :o:o:o

At the same time, kwongj suggested that visitors should pay double of what members are paying... but we still think that it could discourage visitors attending. :(:(:(

Last week, andrewghw, BadFever and DoublesPlease suggested that $8 for members and $13 for visitors could be tried/experimented... and so we will try this out. :):):)

Because we are getting popular/overcrowded in our sessions on Wednesday & Friday nights, we have decided to expand our activities by adding another session, which will be on every Sunday night.

And we will commence on Sunday 20-May-2007 :):):)

Depending on our members' feedback, we can structure/organise events for our Sunday Session with any and/or all of the following;

CCC Handicapped Games

CCC League Games

CATS (Coaching And Training Sessions)

As Chris mentioned above we are looking for ideas for the Sunday session. Personally I'd prefer the regular social play or if someone's willing to get a little serious I need to do some drill work and need a partner.

I will join Sunday social on regular basis.

Quoted above, from Post #10 of this thread, is what will be happening to our Sunday CCC@Waverley from Sunday 1-July-2007.

The expected participants(and court allocations) for our activities are as follows;
4 trainees(allocated to 1 court) for our Coaching And Training,
6 players(allocated to 1 court) for our Social Games, and
12 competitors(allocated to 2 courts) for our League Games.

We will now wait to hear from our Sunday Social Players to inform us about their coming attendances.

Greetings,

We have now discontinued our Sunday 7:30pm-10:00pm session held at CCC@Waverley.

It would be ok to continue... if we were to have;
4 trainees(allocated to 1 court)for our CATS (Coaching And Training,
6 players(allocated to 1 court) for our Social Games, and
12 competitors(allocated to 2 courts) for our League Games.

But, our Sunday Social Games have attracted only 2 players and our CCC League Games have decided to discontinue.

It is unfortunate for our 4 trainees of Sunday CATS, who have been consistent throughout, that they have to discontinue too.

But to finish this thread on a happier note, we have to say this...

We'll never, never know if we've never, never tried. :):):)

And many thanks should be given to helmut who looked after our Social Games, and to DoublesPlease and BadFever who looked after our League Games.

Please Note: Our Wednesday 7:30pm Session (3 courts for CATS, 1 court for Social) and our Friday 7:30pm Session (4 courts for Socials) are not affected and they will remain the same, as they have been going for the last 16 months.

Cheers... chris@ccc
