personally i think lin dan and chen yu both feel that they are not ready yet to take part in competitions..
maybe they are not prepared yet, haha not enough training and fitness.
but there are other china players as well what..chen hong and bao cl can still make it..

ya, it is right. it is better to pull out if not ready. if not, they will lose in shame in front of indonesia crowd. this crowd gives no chance to foreign players at all. they will keep cheering for taufik and simon.

In this case..we are talking about withdrawal..TH did not participate many tournaments......you register then pull out...

In this case..we are talking about withdrawal..TH did not participate many tournaments......you register then pull out...so, taufik was even more scared. He knew much earlier that he would lose and not bother to register.

Let me correct it...TH registered for Swiss and All England.also..he withdrew long before the tournaments started..you know the deal why TH did that....:p :p

Indeed, watching the video of their most recent meeting, I would say Boonsak is getting closer to beating Taufik.

...another withdrawal???...Hmmm, maybe i'm a bit "overreacting" but with things going the way they are, and players going down/pulling out like flies with injuries and what-have-yous, i wonder if BWF will consider reformatting its SS schedule and minimize it to just 4 or at max. 6 "BIG" events(with much bigger prize monies) per yr, just like in pro tennis...I understand, in its current format, it's probably a logistical issue(also for the participating countries' associations) if BWF were to schedule the SS events every 2 or 3 or 4 weeks apart..But featuring 2 straight SS events, back to back, could take its toll on the players quite a bit, even with the new rally scoring points...
And we're only halfway(almost) thru all the SS events, and not even at the half yr mark.. :p

I just don't understand why they can't make the superseries at least 2 weeks apart. Give the players some time to re-cooperate and recover from their sore muscles and injuries.
Team china is wise to start sending half of the team to each Super Series, fresh legs can make a big difference.

for logistic and economic reasons. players can be flying in from another country and/or continent, it makes more financial and logistic sense to have two closeby tournament back to back.

for Singapore and Indonesia opens, players can travel from home country (eg. Denmark), Denmark -> Singapore -> Indonesia -> Denmark, instead of Denmark -> Singapore -> Denmark -> Indonesia -> Denmark.

..back again, to the cost & logistic of planning those(and like what kwun wrote above)...Besides, taking the current tourneys(SO & IO), we don't want say a team from Europe to have to travel all the way back to their country only to return to the same region in 2 or 3 weeks later...I mean they could do that or stay at the host country, but at the end, the time and monies spent would've probably not be ideal/cost efficient..;)
Abt the idea of team CHN separating their squads into 2 groups for each back to back SS(like the current one), hmm, yeah, that's a good idea...;)

(forgot to add as edit time ran out)..:p
..having players register, be in the draw and then pull-out/withdraw @ the last minute, will not only affect the competition but also the fans who have been eagerly awaiting/expecting to see their fave players compete. And to an extent, the players who have competed continuously won't be at their max. physical level when performing(ie. LinDan's injury)...and if pushed to the brink of injury, who knows what will happen..It's a part of sport, but there's gotta be some way to reduce/minimize these..:p

Can the withdrawal be due to the weather at South East Asia? Perhaps they are not used to the weather..

If asking why a player withdraws out of concern, it's fine but if it's only to belittle them, I think I am not doing it in the right spirit. At the rate things are going, I won't be surprised to see the WC '07 in KL without some top players. I wish that all of us would just move forward and not incessantly dwell on past mistakes made by some the players and become personal. Afterall, nobody is perfect. I hope this little note will be taken in good spirit.

Hahahahaha Cooler is cool lol i agree 101% with him as i wont go much in details. The fact that there are always expectations going into a series as a top ranked 5, LD and CY...and there are obvious reasons for not joining b/c of the Avion Open flukes.. they'd rather figure out why they lost and come out real strong the next time than to participate to try and prove what they are capable of.

hahaha, thx.
I gave some more thot on this.
I think china team feel comfortable enough that TH is no longer a threat to the china team (ie. lin dan) even if badminton fans all over would love to see this old rivalry again. LYB prefer resting LD. There are chen hong, chen jin, and BCL to deal with TH. It is the 2 young guns bcl and chen jin that LYB like to see to have more experience before the 2008 OG. TH is no longer a tasty morsel for LD:p Back at the ranch, LYB and lin dan is studying videos of boonsak instead:p

Not really, since it's beginning to get warm here as well. So,there must be some other reasons why they withdrew...
