Dear All ,

Since there is many enquiries for tickets for the World Championship in Kuala Lumpur. I've created this thread for you to have somesort of booking "unofficially". And this thread is only for Foreigners and Malaysians Working overseas who won't be able to purchase the tickets early.

At the meantime there is no details yet on how much is the tickets as well as different seats allocation like PREMIUM,VIP,NORMAL But i might be able to help some of you to secure some tickets early thru the organiser ONCE THE TICKET is out for Sale to General Public.

Sorry to say that there is no online purchase at the moment. But i do also hope that there will be one.

You may list your name here for the tickets so at least i can have a rough figure. There will be a maximum of 4 ticket per person.
You can purchase it yourself or ask your other friends who is in Malaysia to buy once the ticket is available from wherever it may be.

As ive mentioned that at the moment there is no details yet on the tickets like how much and what type of seats. Those Seats like Premium,Normal and VIP is based on my guess and at least is serve like a reference for those who want to have their tickets early. Maybe when the listing is out, there might not be VIP seats. And if those who books VIP seatings will be automatically be booking PREMIUM Seats IF the VIP Seats Are not FOR SALE.

The capacity is 16,000. I am also waiting for the ticket details to be announced. But usually, Malaysia is not so advanced. Usually, there will be no online sale and you can only buy tickets at the venue near or during competition time. I could be wrong this time, though. So, I am on the lookout for details as well.

I also hope that there will be online purchase.. makes life easier for everyone hehehe

There are online tickets purchasing for concerts held in Malaysia. I think they can do the same for WC. What with the 50th Independence Day coming up.. I'm sure they want to woo more tourist here in making the event a major success (and convenient!).

Yes, you can go Bukit Jalil via LRT or bus. Walk a bit to the badminton stadium, not that far.

Does anyone know how is the seating plan like? What is the best place to watch? Is Lower East/West Numbered Seats good? Or do i have to go for the North/South which costs about double the price?

Don't worry, the stadium is big, can contain alot of spectators. Watching WC'07 is almost like watching MO'07, where almost all the top guns are playing. Unlike this WC'07, the tickets are NOT so highly priced during the MO'07. So, I supposed the stadium won't be packed.

What if during the semis or the finals, the only players left fighting for the crowns are only CHN vs CHN? It will be an empty stadium then.

If the organisers wants to generate support and interest from the general public, they should bring down the pricings of the tickets, afterall PROTON (so filthy rich) as the main sponsor and other sponsorships plus airing rights, a minimal amount as a token will do. It would be embarassing to see an empty stadium. I still believe sporting events should be FREE, if not completely, a minimal token will do. Jeezzz... LOL, who am I to say, hehehe :p

Hi, just like everybody else who wants to book tickets for the World championship, I'm still have no idea how and where to do it. The website posted is the same one in the IBF homepage and is just an order form. I printed the form and filled up the needed informations. But where do I send the form? I'm also hesitant to put my credit card details if I will mail it.
I urge our Malaysian members to help us with this.

My brother emailed Kenny Goh of BAM last week, asked him where and who to send the form but no reply yet. Today he has emailed Patricia Wong of BWF, whom he contacted before, hopefully she will tell him how to book the ticket. I'll post here as soon as I know.

I want best seat in lower N/S. Do I have to get a season ticket to get the best seat or can I get the best seat by just booking the finals/semi-finals and maybe quarter finals? Does Ants know how seats are allocated?

Is that open to the public through the internet or will one have to go to the ticket office to buy tickets? I have a friend that can help me get tickets, but I would like the best lower seats just behind the players on the first row and right in the middle of the stadium. I am willing to pay for the season for the most expensive seats.

Despite my brother sending follow up emails to BAM and BWF, he has still heard nothing from both organisation. Very disappointing, maybe the best way is to get friends in Malaysia to buy the ticket.

A friend ordered the ticket for me. I requested frontmost row between L6 and L7 for a season ticket. Supposedly, first preference is for best seats is for season tickets. But they will allocated seats sometime in July, hopefully on a first come first serve basis. As my friend ordered before the web site is up, hopefully, I will be among the first and will get the seat that I want. Somewhere on the first row, between L6 and L7 in the aisle.

Unfortunately, sometime in July, the ticket will be sent out and who knows how the seats will be allocated.

it's just needs rm10 extra for booking earlier....

A friend of mine booked a season ticket for me through Ticketpro. Her credit card was charged and the credit card company called to check. Apparently, the season ticket price has dropped by MYR 54 or so (for the best seat). There is only 1 Quarter Final Session instead of 2 as originally listed in the earlier order form. So the Season ticket for the best seating is MYR 376 if I remember correctly. The new order form is up on the web.

It would be nice if the seats numbers can be reserved online. I believe that for the World Badminton in the US 2 years ago, one could pick one's seat on a first come first serve basis. I was thinking of going but decided not to as I did not want to go to the West coast -- too lazy.

Hopefully, I will get the seat I requested which is first row (just behind the players) and right in the middle.

Is there anyway for Bfers to identify themselves? ATBL did have an idea but there was some problem a while back. Any ideas anyone?

My tickets have arrived, L6 row P for semi and L7 row Q for the final....
Looked at the map they are both in the middle not the sides, but not sure
how close Row P and Row Q are.
