There will be an friendly match in Batam, Indonesia for Sudirman cup war up between Indonesia and Malaysia.

At first Malaysia team promise to put a full team but last minute they withdraw Lee Chong Wei (MS), Wong Mew Choo (WS), dan Wong Pei Tty/Chin Eei Hui (WD). Which make indonesia dissapointed

In the end indonesia also will put a second team. In the end the warm up become not fruitful.

Prestasi keduanya hanya terjadi pada 2004 ketika merebut empat gelar juara. Setelah itu hingga kini, tidak ada satu pun gelar juara yang mereka gapai. "Saya tidak masalah bermain dengan siapapun. Saya siap membantu rekan-rekan meskipun saya tidak lagi di Pelatnas," kata Candra.
Menurut Lutfi, keberadaan Candra dalam tim sangat diperlukan sebagai pemain senior yang dapat memotivasi rekan-rekan satu timnya.
Sayangnya, dari kubu Malaysia, tiga pemain/ganda terbaik mereka, juara Indonesia Terbuka, Lee Chong Wei (tunggal putra), Wong Mew Choo (tunggal putri), dan Wong Pei Tty/Chin Eei Hui (ganda putri) batal hadir.

In my experience, there is no such thing as a friendly match - this is true from a very small inter-clubs to the big inter-countries.
Every match is competitive in nature and therefore the term "friendly match" is really an oxymoron.

Chong Wei eyes top spot

PETALING JAYA: After a morale-boosting win at the Indonesian Open, Lee Chong Wei wants to regain the number one spot in the world.
On Sunday, Chong Wei picked up valuable points in his chase for the top spot when he won his first Super Series title with a 21-15, 21-16 win over Bao Chunlai of China in the men's singles final.
On his way for his first title in almost a year, he had also outclassed China's Chen Hong in the semi-finals.
Chong Wei is now ranked number six in the world. Five Chinese players are now ranked ahead of Chong Wei. Lin Dan is the world number one followed by Chen Jin, Chen Yu, Chen Hong and Chunlai.
“Beating two Chinese players in a tournament after such a long time has given me the confidence. Now, I aim to be the world number one again,” said Chong Wei yesterday.
“It will not be easy to dislodge Lin Dan. He has been holding the spot for a long time. He is way ahead of me in the ranking points. But I will try to get close to him again,” he added.
Chong Wei was ranked number one briefly during the World Championships in Madrid in September last year.
With his recent exploits in the Indonesian Open, he is expected to break into the top three.
He can further improve on his world ranking when he competes in the Sudirman Cup in Glasgow next month and the seventh leg of the Super Series in China in July.
For Chong Wei, his task now is to prepare for the Pahang Open, which begins in Kuantan on Thursday. Chong Wei is the king of the local tournaments.
He has not been beaten in local tournaments since winning the 2002 National Grand Prix Finals.

Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan have lost 4 times in a row to Koo Kien Keat/Tan Boon Heong, although this time round they managed to nab a set. I think INA might field Candra Wijaya/Alvent Yulianto when they are playing MAS in the Sudirman Cup proper.

Alvent Yulianto has proved to be quite useful when paired with another player. He should be kept in the Pelatnas...probably playing mixed with Lilyana Natsir? It's time to get rid of Nova Widianto once and for all. Flandy Limpele is way much better than him! Richard Mainaky has pulled up a master-stroke by pairing him with Vita Marissa
This time, he needs to break Nova with Butet before its too late!

I thought Kido/Setiawan will be good enough to carry on the legacy of Candra/Tony; Candra/Sigit, but may be not. I don't understand why they lost to Koo/Tan repeatedly. They should be about equal in term of speed and power. I guess what my dad keep saying is true. Indonesia players lack the mental toughness even though they are technically doesn't lose to world players.

It is a good decision to split Luluk and Alvent. Everybody can clearly see that Luluk is the weak spot in their partnership. Good for Alvent! Hopefully he will use this opportunity (playing with Candra) to polish his skill. To be honest, isn't it sad that a senior player like Candra has to be called back because the current MD is unreliable? *sigh* :(

- In WD it will depend who's partnering Gresyia..Vita can go, but she could possibly play in 2 events..

- In MD, woooh, tough one to choose...With Candra in the mix, i'm tempted to experiment him with all 3 of the other players, mix-and-match them, and see which one is the best pairing if they should reach the Semifinals round...1 thing is clear, Luluk is now left without a partner..Don't know how will this affect him in the near future..:confused: :rolleyes: :p

- In XD, looks like Flandy & Vita have the edge. But, IMO, they need to work a bit more on their stamina/fitness. If Vita can concentrate on the XD, that would even be better. So, Nova & Lilyana will probably have to come through again.

I would suggest that INA persist with Candra/Alvent in the Denmark and Korea matches. Candra has a good record against the top Korean pairs (except in Korea) and with an experienced Alvent, can match Eriksen/Lundgaard's trickery and beat them on speed. This is important especially if it becomes a must win situation, Kido/Setiawan or Riyadi/Gunawan might be too raw.

As for women's singles, how about giving Maria a break as she is the best performing WS so far.
