But i still hope they will show on the telly here in the UK. The problem is that they hardly ever show badminton on tv here. Its always football, tennis etc.. The only way to promote badminton in the UK is to televise it and show people how intense and exciting this sport really is. People just think its a back garden kids game where u just knock the shuttle back and forth.. lol.. Ignorance is a crime!

Good to hear that they'll show it on BBC. I just want to echo Zeddie's point on the fact that they hardly show any badminton matches on telly. Pretty suprising especially when badminton england is really developing. And when they do show matches, i cant stand those patriotic commentaries. Worst coverage was the commonwealth games. Damn you know what.. i just read the article again, it happens to be on my exam week so i have to pass on that. :( But it would've been really fun though! Apparently there will be several manufacturers promoting their items. Been meaning to check out the new AT-900 & NS-9k. I refuse to buy my next racket off eBay again. And a chance to play with Gail.. hehe.. you might have seen me making the headlines next day sounding like "Malaysian attempted a 'borat-style kidnapping' on Gail Emms" .. :D

Anyways, I'm based in London and even here the courts well taken in the weekend. As for BOE, this is definitely a cause for concern. I sure that is one of the reason england lack mens singles talents. They lack the infrastructure/facility/support etc. I mean its hard enough to get a court to play on, what more a court to play for singles?? I join a group who plays in the weekends and very often we have to share 4 courts between 20-30 people! :crying:

Funnily enough I was just looking at the schedule of events for the Sudirman Cup as I was thinking of flying up to Glasgow for a couple of days, but I am also going to the exhitibion game in Leicester with a couple of friends. I'm dead excited about it, especially about the prospect of possibly getting to play a short game against the stars!!! :D Probably won't get picked though.

To Zeddie and anyone else in two minds about going to Glasgow... the only thing that beats watching world class badminton live is playing it, TV coverage doesn't really come close. And a team event like the Sudirman cup is about as good as it gets, just about all the top players will be there and they will (hopefully) be playing out their skins against each other, not just for themselves but for their country so there should be some intense games, and as team support tends to be more focused than individual support it all combines to make the atmosphere electric! (Well, as electric as it gets over here compared to the asian based events.) So if you get even the slimmest chance ever to go, go. If you like badminton you won't regret it.

And yes, i'm going, i'm addicted :D

Guess you can just refer to the schedule in tournament software for the time of the matches, but don't expect them to show everything as it'll be played in different courts.

Although Astro has listed June 14th, 4:30pm broadcast between China vs Malasyia as "Live" but I think it should be the delay version as the event happen 9:30am Scotland time so it should be around 2:30am Malaysia time, can't be "Live" in that sense.

Whoa I love Vision 1... I didn't recognize it, because they usually broadcast only Serie A, Bundesliga, La Liga, and J-League... When did they change their name? It used to be Vision 1 Football, now Vision 1 Sports... *Kyny ini pertama kalinya bola mesti ngalah dr badminton!*... I have indovision @ home... I looked at the schedule part and so surprised about it...

Here's what is written in the schedule part:
Fri, 15 June: Sudirman Cup (L) from 3pm - 4.30am (badminton non-stop for 13.5 hours - never happen b4:eek:... - hopefully its true:rolleyes:...)

Sat, 16 June: Sudirman Cup (L) from 5.30 pm - 2.30 am

check the schedule on ch 22 it was not listed at all. it should start
at 4.30 pm on friday, 15 jun, 7 pm, 16 jun n 8 pm on 17 jun.

I am very fed up with this 2007 Sudiraman Cup as it wad not shown in India even not in any country in South Asia.
Unless it is not shown on star sports, espn we indians can not see the matches.

I saw part of the Sudriman Cup last night on Comcast Cable TV here in New Jersey. Full hour of Man's single final and Man's Doubles final. There will be an repeat showing again next Monday Oct. 29 at 12:00am on SNY. SNY is Sport New York or something, so It may be available on satellite or your location cable network.
