CCC League Games Trial #4
Greetings,
We thought we will commence this thread so that we can start to organise our League Games for our CCC Section 3 players.
And hkhung reckons that because many members from our Section 3 have missed their Friendly Match against Highvale, they would be interested to participate in this CCC League Games Trial #4.
Seriously, many members from section 3 miss the friendly against highvale so i think they would be interested in a trial league just for section 3.
Well if all systems are go, this is what i need
- discuss structure of the trial match (if section 3 were playing amogst section 3, i think dividing people in teams is good)
- section 3 members email + phone no (chris, i need to talk to you regarding this matter)
- i need people start talking about this
With me absent on next wednesday, i only have next friday to ask. In all, i need everybody's help to organise this!
With respect to the Play/Format and the Team Scoring Details, perhaps hkhung would like to follow DoublesPlease's method for CCC League Games Trial #3 as quoted here.
Welcome to Trial #3 of the CCC League Games (for Section 1 players). The games will be played on the second Sunday session of CCC: 27th May 2007.
The Play
Player participation is requested from section 1 players to form two teams of four players each. No handicap will be applied to any of the scores so each game is a straightforward race from 0 to 21 aces with no setting.
Team Scoring
One team point will be accrued for each game won. At the end of the night the aces scored for each team will be summed, the team with the higher number of aces will be awarded one additional team point for every 20 aces difference.
And, with respect to the Play Details, we have, as quoted here.
By restricting the player selection to a single CCC handicap section we can schedule games involving all combinations of players. The combinations are listed below in pairs
representing games that can be played simultaneously.
Team 1 vs Team 2
a & b vs a & b
c & d vs c & d
a & c vs a & c
b & d vs b & d
a & d vs a & d
b & c vs b & c
a & c vs b & d
b & d vs a & c
a & d vs b & c
b & c vs a & d
There are 10 games in total, assuming a start time of 8pm and 15 minutes per game the expected completion time is 9:15pm when played on two courts.
Initially, DoublesPlease was planning to do different trials for different players from different sections of CCC, but on different Sundays.
But if hkhung wants to do it himself, we are sure that DoublesPlease will be happy to assist. :):):)
Cheers... chris@ccc

Chris, since this is already TRIAL League #4, any chances of making the League permanent. Can we do it everyweek over let's say 3 months?
One-off league is very un-league. :p

Hi Section 3 players@ccc,
Like said by the logo of NIKE... JUST DO IT.
Sometimes we can do an excellent job/jab at it, and sometimes we can do a horrible task of it.
Since we will never, never know......
Let us... JUST DO IT !!! :):):)
It appears that, at the present moment, hkhung wants to organise our CCC League Games Trial #4 for our players in Section 3.
Let us give hkhung our full support.
Cheers... chris@ccc

Hi BadFever,
Once DoublesPlease has determined what is the BEST FORMAT, we will commence our CCC League Games (for different CCC Sections) in earnest.

Since the skill level of section 3 players would vary, I think this format from trial league no 2 is the best way to go about things.
If we do not have enough people, we could consider playing games best of 3 instead of one off.
That should create a competition atmosphere.

:eek::eek::eek: Hi hkhung,
But this format in your quote is for Trial League #3, not Trial #2.

Hi all,
I am interested in participating in the CCC League Games Trial #4 this weekend, but I will not be able to. Because of studying, I'll be absent from CCC Friday and Sunday sessions this weekend.
Thank you HK for the message regarding this trial.
I'll see you all next week! :D

Wow, it's June already...
And HK, please read posts properly silly.
It's a badminton-free weekend for me. See you next week!

And HK, please read posts properly silly.
i am notoriously about "not reading properly", so i have an image to keep up with.
For trial league, I have 3 people already
1. myself
2. joseph sam
3. monica
only need 5 more!

We are not surprised that you have included some Singles Events for our CCC League Games Trial #4. :p:p:p

... formally that I will be an eager participant -- and that I very much appreciate hkhung's efforts to keep things rolling.
It's only some work-related headaches why I am a bit tardy communicating (someone out there with experience in derivative/residual matching of data structures , for that matter?)

Following would be the match schedule for tonite's event.
Team 1 Team 2
Silvia Peter G
Ken Helmut
Joseph Sam Monica
Court 1:Silvia and Ken Vs Peter G and Helmut
Court 2: Joseph Vs Monica
Court 1:Silvia and Joseph Vs Peter G and Monica
Court 2: Helmut Vs Ken
Court 1:Ken and Joseph Vs Helmut and Monica
Court 2: Silvia Vs Peter G
Since there are only 6 people, i decided to play all ties in the manner of best of 3.
I have also prepared the match schedule to suit the "unlikely scenario" with 2 additional people for tonite. In that case, singles would be decided in one off instead of best of 3.
See you all tonite!

Hi hkhung,
It was about 6:30pm that I found and read your sms(sent about 2:30pm) that you could not attend.
Sorry to be informed that you were sick and that you could not attend.
You might not have known this... I have 3 sessions of coaching every Sunday before I arrive at our CCC@Waverley, namely;
CCC@MSAC (morning)
Private Coaching@MSAC (noon)
CCC@Balwyn (afternoon)
I just didn't have time to do anything.
All those that you have listed, except for Joseph-S, turned up... and we all had Social/Friendly Games.
And I would say that all, and our Sylvia's 3 friends, enjoyed their Social/Friendly Games. :):):)
So... our CCC League Games Trial #4 will be held later, on another Sunday.
BTW, at suppertime@ccc after our session, a very good suggestion was made...
In future, all our CCC Captains/Organisers of Teams/Events are asked to team up with Vice-Captains/Co-Organisers... just to have backups in case of unforeseen difficulties.
Cheers... chris@ccc

to CCC members:
guys, the league for section 3 is like my brain child, most of you know that anyway for how much time i spend asking every single person to join (i think i even ask the same people more than once in any given nite).
So a million apologies about not being there sunday nite. I would come if i do not have to get up early the following day.
All those that you have listed, except for Joseph-S, turned up... and we all had Social/Friendly Games.
he actually tried to PM me and my inbox is full AGAIN! i suspect it got something to do with that.
Chris, we must remember to tell all CCC member to stop PM us. Post the thread and have "open communication", call us, come talk to us in person anything but PM.
Oh, also Melchor sms me again about not being able to make it.
Chris, i would like to organize another league for section 3. Where should i start that discussion.

Hi hkhung,
(1) Perhaps, our Section 3 players are not as keen as you think they should be, in participating in our CCC League Games.
However, as we have posted earlier, our Section 3 players all enjoyed their Social Games on Sunday 3-Jun-2007.
Perhaps, playing without pressure is more enjoyable for them. ;););)
(2) But... Please don't let me discourage you from giving it another go. :):):)
And there should be no need to start another thread... Did you know that this thread did not specify a date?
Why ??? ... Because we were not as confident as DoublesPlease, who have consulted many Section 1 players, testing the water... before he started his threads with specified dates.
(3) Also, DoublesPlease now has a co-organiser, just in case he is unable to attend. :):):)
Perhaps, you can follow how/what DoublesPlease has carried out for his Games thus far.
Cheers... chris@ccc

After sharing ideas from DP, i now share the following thoughts in regarding to future league for section 3:
a) future league for section 3 at the moment would be 1-off until interest gather from more members
b) another league would be organized for section 3 after exam
c) i now have helmut as my no2 for future leagues for section 3
d) future league for section 3 would still on sunday for the future
now it's back to square one - asking members for interest of league!
