Err....anyone wants to congratulate Misbun too? U can see LCW's style has changed a bit. He is playing the shuttle very late in order to confuse/trick his opponent. Somewat similar to Hafiz but luckily he gets it rite most of the time, not yo-yo...:D:D:D

He played very well today, outplaying Lin Dan at times. Great game, and salvaged some pride (and hopefully a SF place!) for MAS...

LCW is on the rise, LD well... He played OK, but i see his lack of motivation, only pushing sometimes... But take nothing away from LCW! Bravo!

If I recall correctly, this is the first time LCW beat LD in straight sets. Even though I haven't seen the match, LCW has been playing differently as seen in IO07, vindication and satisfaction for Misbun, job well done!!!:) I really admire the relationship as shown between Misbun and LCW when Lee won IO07, like a father-son kind of affection, truly malaysian!:)
I am glad and relieved in a way that MAS is out of Sudirman, cos the best MAS or any country could do is 2nd place...in a protective and selfish way, I would not want to expose LCW too much or let him play too much or peak too fast, cos we know with LCW threatening CHN success (esp OLY08 in Beiging) and LYB rice bowl, LYB would zero in on him as happened to TBH/KKK...LCW win over LD and BCL is enough to send a signal to CHN MS team and enable LCW to gain confidence and overcome mental block over LD, rest LCW and aim for the biggest fish in 2007 i.e. be the first malaysian to win WC and further goal than that would be OLY08! If I am the coach, I would even rest LCW in CHN07 Open....just my opinion!
As far as I am concerned, Sudirman is hopeless for MAS all along, playing second fiddle, I personally would not even bother and it was a blessing for England to KO MAS, so LCW can rest his skill and not show too much for now, hide it till we meet in WC07.
MAS has achieved something more important, i.e. to see if LCW is a fluke after IO07 win (cos' LD did not play and TH was out in SF) and to see if the new LCW can actually take on LD, and he did it in straight sets for the first time!!:)
I am silently cheering LCW all the way...hope MAS fans please do not hype too much, control the excitement, not put too much pressure on LCW (LCW plays better being underdog with less expectation, if you are not convinced then check on WC06 when Lee was rank #1, and succumbed to pressure, a painful lesson learned and we would be condemned to repeat that) and pray the good fairy continues to help MAS, esp with WC07 at homesoil!!!

It's normal for players/teams to leave early in any sport if they no longer compete in deeper round mainly for cost/expense reason. I recall in World Championship 2005, Taiwanese player Chen Tsao Jak unexpected advanced to semi in women's single hence had to extend her stay and flight while the rest of her team mates flew home. You would have thought team mates would have stayed along to support and cheer her, nay!
Even if Chong Wei decide to stay, I think is because Mew Choo want to do some sites seeing :D

Sudirman cup is not MAS target. That's why, they send only 10 players only.

Now that his confidence is back, the men's single game will be more exciting and interesting to watch. It is boring and eye sore to frequently see Chn vs Chn in major tournaments later stages. And, rankings wise too. Don't know which Chn player to support even though they display great skills against each other.
With Denmark (PG), Indo (TH) and hoping for SIN (Ronald Susilo) . . . . lets given Chn a run for the money, and the fans viewing pleasure.

LCW is now sending shivers to all other players and coaches. Has he finally arrived ? Can he finish off this year with a big win at the WC ?

I think he can and that is no one today (at this time) who can say without doubt that he can beat LCW. And that is comforting to LCW and Malaysians.

What can LYB bring out from his kit bag of tricks -- at best his 'break his leg' tactic perhaps but that is not going to work this time as we will be having the WC in Malaysia. Droves of Malaysian fans will be at the stadium. This WC will have all the Malaysians standing on their toes -- they want a win, they can sense a win by LCW. Our other doubles, at home, will be devastating. I just feel good that everything is looking bright at this point.

I wud admit that MAS overall team performance was not good enuff. What we are celebrating is the re-emergence of LCW and the possibility of a good showing in the coming WC.

Can't complain.That's major progress already. The other paper, ST , used to just report LCW's failures and nothing of his success, most notably and recently his IO07 win.What's there for LD to conserve energy? He has a rest day today but I doubt he will play any more SC matches.And my guess is MAS will field WCH today so he can get his ranking points.
