I agree with your predictions but I think it will be VERY CLOSE and Malaysia could end up winning. The crucial matches for both countries would be MS, WS, & WD. Denmark is likely to win in mixed if everything goes well while Malaysia is banking on KOO Kien Kiet & TAN Boon Heong in MD.

Peter GADE has to play his best to beat an in-form LEE C hong Wei and Tine RASMUSSEN will have to use her opportunity to edge out a slightly injured WONG Meu Choo (correct spelling?). I have not a clue with WD but I think Malaysia holds the slight advantage here which is why Denmark needs to win MS & WS to ensure their victory.

Even though the relegation tie is much more important, there are a lot of mis-matches in the lineup. THA is considerably superior in XD and WD, and perhaps MS as well. MD and WS (if Wang Chen not playing) more level. THA to win 3-2. Even though I predict a close scoreline, I think the 3 wins will be comfortable ones. But hopefully, they will fight tooth-and-nail and we get to see some good resistance.

For MAS v DEN, I hope they will field their best sides. If they do, it will be very interesting for badminton fans in general. MAS is slightly superior in WD, DEN in XD. The rest is a toss-up. LCW v Gade, WMC v Tine, MAS MD v DEN MD, good enough to make your mouth water. Prediction: DEN 3-2. Hope: MAS 3-2.

My friend jokingly said that if the MAS Men's team couldn't beat DEN in TC'06, how could the MAS mixed team beat DEN (supposedly stronger in women and XD departments) in SO'07? But I guess the situation has changed a lot in one year's time. DEN's women have been declining, which will give MAS women better fighting chances, and LCW is far more in form than last year, which leaves KKK/TBH the key (again!) to MAS' win (or loss).

Look at what happened to HK 4 years ago when they battled Malaysia to see who'll be promoted to group 1.

First match, HK's mixed doubles team (once again, it's Koon and Njoto) scored a victory for HK (and today, HK's mixed team starts off with an victory as well)

Next, Agus Harianto lost to Lee Tsuen Sing (today, HK's MS lost in the 2nd tie)

Afterwards, Wang Chen scored a victory over WMC (and Yip Pui Yin scored a victory for HK in Ws)

And then, the scratch team of Liu/Yau lost to Choong/Lee in MD (Njoto/Wiratama just lost in MD as well)

Finally, Koon/Wang scored the final point for HK in WD by beating Wong/Chin. If will history repeat itself where HK's WD doubles will score another victory in WD? I just drove 1 hour to work, and found out HK beat Thailand 3-2 in WD. Congratulations to HK!!!!!!!! If Zhou Mi and will play in future Sudirman Cup games for HK, there is a great chance that HK will remain in Group 1 for several more years.

I wonder how much confidence will Yip Pui Yin and Chau Hoi Wah will have themselves in the future games. Afterall, their coach showed enough faith to leave those two young players in the critical relegation match instead of putting Wang Chen there. Also, Coach could have put Yip Pui Yin to play WD with Koon, but instead, he kept Chau with Koon. That must be a pschological booster for Chau.

Watching LCW play (though I have watched his games many times before), it occurs to me that his distinguishing feature is being very light. I don't mean by weight. I mean his footwork and movement around the round. He seems to float around the court a lot.

LOL, yes, because he is very small size and run and move around very much when placing the shuttle.... Sometimes, it is like as if he cannot take the shuttle that kind of feelings. It makes the supporters get so so so nervous !!
