Krisna 07-02-2007, 11:54 PM I just saw in the tournamentsoftware:
Maria Febe Kusumastuti vs. Yao Lei [SIN] 21-9, 21-8
Fransisca Ratnasari [INA] vs. Lydia Cheah [MAS] 21-19, 17-21, 21-18
Yuan Kartika Putri [INA] vs. Sitee Phuksapaisalsilp [THA] 21-18, 22-20
3 INA WS survived the morning games. Later today, they will face:
Maria [I]Febe Kusumastuti vs. Chen Jiayuan [SIN]
Fransisca Nana Ratnasari vs. Jang Soo Young [KOR]
Yuan Kartika vs. Zhou Mi [HKG]
Waaaah, I think only Febe will survive tonight's games...;) and maybe Nana... :) As for Yuan... er... sorry, your opponent is Zhou Mi... :p She is too tough...
hcyong 07-03-2007, 12:33 AM The WSQ4 is the hardest qualification group, with Jang Soo Young, Fransisca, Lydia, Yuan Kartika and Zhou Mi. No doubt in my mind that Zhou Mi will win this group.
Other predictions:
WSQ3: Huang Chia-Hsin - too strong for this group.
WSQ2: Seo Yoon Hee
WSQ1: Beats me. Any of the remaining four could win, but I predict Anita to win.
badMania 07-03-2007, 12:42 AM Don't expect too much from this Thailand Open....Maria Febe could be the only survivor today if she manages to beat Chen Jia Yuan and later Anita Raj Kaur/Fu Mingtian. The 1-day qualifying round is again a joke...they should spread it out to 2 days!
badMania 07-03-2007, 12:49 AM The MD draw (both the main and qualifying) are unexpectedly tough for INA pairs.
Qualifying today:
Rendra Wijaya/Lingga Lie vs Lim Khim Wah/Mak Hee Chun (last year's WJC semi-finalist) -- not expected to win...
Anggun Nugroho/Devin Lahardi vs Sudket Prapakamol/Tesana Panvisvas  -- again, the Thai pair is more experienced....
Mohd Razif Abdul Latif/Chan Peng Soon vs Afiat Yuris Wirawan/Wifqi Windarto -- the INA junior pair lacks experience again to the MAS junior pair.
In the main draw:
Luluk Hadiyanto/Alvent Yulianto vs Chieh Yu-Hsun/Lin Yu-Lang -- a tricky tie for the now INA no 3 pair  Even if Luluk/Alvent win, the formidable Lee Jae Jin/Hwang Ji Man await in the next round
Bona Septano/Mohd Ahsan vs Tan Bin Shen/Ong Soon Hock -- tough for Bona/Ahsan to go through
Rian Sukmawan/Yonathan Suryatama Dasuki vs Jung Jae Sung/Lee Yong Dae -- ditto for Rian/Yoke...Jung/Lee is definitely one of the candidate for the title..alongside Lee/Hwang.
Sigit Budiarto/Fran Kurniawan vs Choong Tan Fook/Lee Wan Wah -- same story for Sigit/Fran...a major surprise if they can win
It will be game over for the MD after the second round...unless there's an upset
hcyong 07-03-2007, 12:52 AM Only the WS qualifying has 3 rounds. The other events only 2 rounds, so it's not so bad.
badMania 07-03-2007, 12:56 AM In the qualifying WD draw,
Nadya Melati/Devi Tika Permatasari should progress to the main draw with matches against possible 2 Thai pairs.
The main draw for WD is equally unkind:
Jo Novita/Greysia Polii vs Shinta Mulia Sari/Vanessa Neo Yu Yan -- the reunited pair should have no problem beating the SG pair, but, Gao Ling/Huang Sui await in the second round.
Dili Puspita Richi/Yulianti vs Wong Pei Tty/Chin Ee Hui -- bye2
Nitya Krishinda/Lita Nurlita vs Soratja Chanrisukot vs Molthila Meemek -- a negotiable first round, but yet again, Du Jing/Yu Yang will meet them next.
badMania 07-03-2007, 01:01 AM In the qualifying XD draw:
Anggun Nugroho/Nitya Krishinda will face Chris Langridge/Joanne Nicholas for a place in the main draw (facing Sudket/Saralee) later today....quite a match....
In the main XD draw:
Devin Lahardi/Lita Nurlita vs Alroy Tanama Putra/Louisa Koon Wai Chee -- Devin/Lita probably will go the furthest (QF, with a match against Sudket/Saralee)...and the first round tie is manageable. They should meet Hsieh Yu-Hsing/Chien Yu-Chin in the next round.
Lingga Lie/Devi Tika Permatasari vs (possibly) Lim Khim Wah/Ng Hui Lin -- tough match in prospect...
Tantowi Ahmad/Yulianto vs Chan Peng Soon/Abdul Latif Nairul Suhaida -- manageable first round tie, but, Thomas Laybourn/Kamilla Rytter-Juhl await them in the second round.
huangkwokhau 07-03-2007, 04:54 AM In the qualifying WD draw,
Nadya Melati/Devi Tika Permatasari should progress to the main draw with matches against possible 2 Thai pairs.
The main draw for WD is equally unkind:
Jo Novita/Greysia Polii vs Shinta Mulia Sari/Vanessa Neo Yu Yan -- the reunited pair should have no problem beating the SG pair, but, Gao Ling/Huang Sui await in the second round.

Nitya Krishinda/Lita Nurlita vs Soratja Chanrisukot vs Molthila Meemek -- a negotiable first round, but yet again, Du Jing/Yu Yang will meet them next.
Too bad that INA WD lost to Thais.....
huangkwokhau 07-03-2007, 06:04 AM Maria Febe will face Fu Ming Tian for WS slot in Main draw...again Anita failed repeating her fine performance against Fu Ming Tian.
INA Junior Afiat/wifgi won over abdul latif/Peng soon in very tight match...a chance for MD main draw
badMania 07-03-2007, 06:11 AM INA casualties started to pile up
In the MS, Wisnu Haryo Putro lost to a Thai player in 3 sets. Meanwhile, Andi Nugroho Saputro and Dionysius Hayom Rumbaka will face each other later tonite after they beat Chan Kwong Beng and Kang Woo Kyum respectively.
In the MD, Anggun Nugroho/Devin Lahardi and Rendra Wijaya/Lingga Lie all lost to more experienced opponents. However, Afiat Yuris Wirawan/Wifqi Windarto edged out Mohd Razif Abdul Latif/Chan Peng Soon 21-16, 11-21, 22-20. They will face Andrew Bowman/Kristian Roebuck for a place in the main draw.
In the WS, Maria Febe progresses after beating Chen Jiayuan 21-18, 23-21. She will face another Singaporean, Fu Mingtian later tonite.
In the WD, Nadya Melati/Devi Tika Permatasari also lost to a Thai pair.
huangkwokhau 07-03-2007, 06:24 AM Gu Juan upsets Huang Chia Shin and more likelt she will advance to main draw as her next opponent, Deschamps is unlikely will block her way...
Krisna 07-03-2007, 06:45 AM http://www.pbdjarum.com/upload/pic7975d01.jpg
Nugroho Andi Saputro
vs.
Dionysius Hayom Rumbaka
33403
My wish: Hayom wins! :D
Krisna 07-03-2007, 06:52 AM Yuan Kartika just lost to Zhou Mi... Nana is still playing...
INA's hope in WS... ;) ...and my favorite INA Junior... Febe!
33404
huangkwokhau 07-03-2007, 06:54 AM Hope that febe will go thru main draw....seems that Maria Elfira keeps beating Febe lately....Hope that Maria Elfira will be sent to Phillipine open by Jarum
huangkwokhau 07-03-2007, 07:32 AM Ratnasari defeated Jang Soo in 3 sets with 23-21 in final set....tough to challenge Zhou Mi as she hardly had a sweat in winning 2nd round...Zhou Mi will win unless Nana plays superbly
Dreamzz 07-03-2007, 07:36 AM i take it there isn't livescoring for this?
huangkwokhau 07-03-2007, 08:16 AM Rumbaka is set to play Lee tsuen Seng....will be exciting match....both has played Superliga lately...at least LTS is fresher than Rumbaka....hope an upset here...
Krisna 07-03-2007, 10:04 AM Rumbaka is set to play Lee tsuen Seng....will be exciting match....both has played Superliga lately...at least LTS is fresher than Rumbaka....hope an upset here...
Hayom won! Cool...
LTS was Musica's 1st singles, Hayom was Musica's 2nd singles in last week's Indonesian Superliga Badminton... :D Since they both had to play every single day for 7 nights, I think their fitness and condition should be around the same. :p
Krisna 07-03-2007, 10:19 AM Dionysius Hayom Rumbaka defeated Nugroho Andi Saputro 21-19, 21-17 in 25 minutes... But I think tomorrow Hayom will be outclassed by LTS...
badMania 07-03-2007, 10:21 AM Maria Febe is through to the main draw after beating the third Singaporean in a row , Fu Mingtian, in straight-sets 21-7, 21-12. Krisna will be thrilled by this news :D She will play against Anu Nieminen tomorrow.
The junior MD pair, Alfiat Yuris Wirawan/Wiqfi Windarto also impressed after a second victory today, this time over Andrew Bowman/Kristian Roebuck 21-18, 21-16. They will face Howard Bach/Bob Khan Malaythong tomorrow. Not too bad, a 1670 addition to their WR point by next week :D
Krisna 07-03-2007, 10:23 AM Wooohhhooo! Febe in! Thanks badMania!
badMania 07-03-2007, 10:24 AM Earlier, Anggun Nugroho/Nitya Krishinda also progress through to the main draw after a 21-16, 21-19 victory over Chris Langridge/Joanne Nicholas. They will face Chen Hong-Ling/Chou Chia-Chi tomorrow...another manageable tie IMHO.
Krisna 07-03-2007, 10:29 AM Febe defeated 3 Singaporeans today... [how come they lumped so many Singaporeans in her qualification draw. No national separation or something?!?]
Febe vs. Yao Lei 21-9, 21-8
Febe vs. Chen Jiayuan 21-18, 23-21
Febe vs. Fu Mingtian 21-7, 21-12
And yes, badMania, you are right [as usual]. Febe and Wifqi-Alfiat need the 1670 WR points ahead of the Asian Juniors and World Juniors... Better seeding means that Febe don't have to play Sania Nehwal or the good Koreans... and Wifqi-Alfiat can avoid that tough Malaysian MD Junior [forgot their names]...

Lim Khim Wah/Mak Hee Chun (dunno if they are eligible as juniors anymore) or Mohd Arif Latif/Vountus Indra Mawan?
badMania 07-03-2007, 10:38 AM As expected, Zhou Mi beat Fransisca Ratnasari easily 21-16, 21-4 in the last match today.
huangkwokhau 07-03-2007, 10:41 AM suprisingly that korean WS did not make it at all..Seo and Jng soo young all lost...
Krisna 07-03-2007, 10:42 AM Yeah, something like that... Lim-Mak! [if they're not eligible, good then...]
huangkwokhau 07-03-2007, 10:42 AM As expected, Zhou Mi beat Fransisca Ratnasari easily 21-16, 21-4 in the last match today.
as expected as Ratnasari played 2 matches that lasted 3 tight sets each......there is no energy to play zhou Mi..even she has...still tough to beat ZM...
huangkwokhau 07-03-2007, 10:44 AM Febe defeated 3 Singaporeans today... [how come they lumped so many Singaporeans in her qualification draw. No national separation or something?!?]
Febe vs. Yao Lei 21-9, 21-8

Fu Ming Tian also played WD as well...thats tough to play all 5 matches in one day.....hope Fu Ming Tian learned this lesson.....
Krisna 07-03-2007, 10:47 AM If Febe defeats Anu Nieminen tomorrow, then she will get 2720 WR points... That means, after this week, Febe will have more ranking points than Pia Zebadiah... in the PBSI calculation... Thus, Febe can be INA #3 sooner than I thought...
Krisna 07-03-2007, 10:49 AM Fu Ming Tian also played WD as well...thats tough to play all 5 matches in one day.....hope Fu Ming Tian learned this lesson.....
I don't think she has... Last year, during the Singapore Satellite, she played 5-6 matches per day as well... In her last match against INA's Maria Elfira, she could not move smoothly anymore... Poor Mingtian... :o

I thught Maria Elfira can be number 3.......
Krisna 07-03-2007, 11:01 AM I thught Maria Elfira can be number 3.......
Although I also think Maria Elfira qualifies to be INA #3, because she is better than Maria Febe... :p [fact: Maria Elfira defeated Maria Febe so many times lately] ...the PBSI rankings said otherwise. Just visit www.pb-pbsi.net (http://www.pb-pbsi.net) ... ;)
Further facts to strengthen the opinion that Maria Elfira should be #3 is: the defeated Pia Zebadiah in a very lopsided straight sets last Friday during the Superliga Badminton. Pia did barely defeated Maria Elfira a few days before that with a long rubber set. But after Maria figured Pia out, last Friday was not even close...
As for Nana [Fransisca Ratnasari], Maria Febe defeated her in a one-sided straight-set win in INA Open this May.
huangkwokhau 07-03-2007, 11:12 AM so we can count on febe and elfira for future players...
apontoh 07-03-2007, 12:11 PM I hope Maria Kristin can break into the top 10 soon. when was the last time INA had a WS player in the top 10?
edwin 07-03-2007, 01:06 PM I hope Maria Kristin can break into the top 10 soon. when was the last time INA had a WS player in the top 10?
My guess would be Lidia Djaelawidjaya in around 2001??? But don't know for sure.
edwin 07-03-2007, 01:19 PM My guess would be Lidia Djaelawidjaya in around 2001??? But don't know for sure.
Make that Lidia Djaelawidjaya in 2002. She retired in the middle of 2002, but in the early part of year 2002, her ranking was still within top 10.
roller 07-03-2007, 04:21 PM I don't think she has... Last year, during the Singapore Satellite, she played 5-6 matches per day as well... In her last match against INA's Maria Elfira, she could not move smoothly anymore... Poor Mingtian... :o
I believe these young Singapore players (sourced from China) do not have a choice and they have been asked to play both singles and doubles matches. imho they are singles players and it felt weird watching these singles players play doubles. The only specialist doubles players we have are Li Yujia/Jiang Yanmei and the Saputra brothers.
