Choon Hann has nothing to lose, we didn't expect him to beat Chen Hong and he did. The previous head-to-head records between Choon Hann vs Soni are quite out of date. Both players have since suffered injuries and both are unable to play effective rubber sets. My pick : Choon Hann!

Don't get me wrong. I'm a big supporter of Wang Lin's. I love the way she plays. I would like nothing more than to see her do a LCW and rebound big time. However based on what I've been observing lately, I think she still has a ways to go. Let's just say at least she's on the up again.:)

When LCW was down, he was never out of the top 10 (or maybe even top 5, not sure) of the world rankings. He never had to go through the qualifying rounds. Wang Lin had trouble making the main draw. It's a different kind of down.

Taufik vs Sony = Taufik...because it is an international match....If it is a domestic match...then Sonny will win....

WIth CH out, the road to the final round is smoother now....WCH is a good player but not as dangerous as CH....WCH's style of play will not pose significant threat to SOnny.....

Then Sonny will play either SImon or KJ...I guess Sony will have no problem playing against either Simon or KJ....

Then...in the Semi Final, SOny will meet Bonsaak...I guess this match will be very intersting...but Bonsak will have been very tired by then.....

And Final will be Sonny vs Taufik....:D

I hope you're right and I would be most impressed if WCH can beat Sony. I have no chance to watch his current performance and if he has improved on his fitness since SO07, then he will be in contention. WCH is a very determined and committed player and we have witnessed his gradual but steady improvement since his Achilies tendon injury.

Taufik vs Sony = Taufik...because it is an international match....If it is a domestic match...then Sonny will win....

WIth CH out, the road to the final round is smoother now....WCH is a good player but not as dangerous as CH....WCH's style of play will not pose significant threat to SOnny.....

Then Sonny will play either SImon or KJ...I guess Sony will have no problem playing against either Simon or KJ....

Then...in the Semi Final, SOny will meet Bonsaak...I guess this match will be very intersting...but Bonsak will have been very tired by then.....

And Final will be Sonny vs Taufik....:D

And congrats to the indomitable WCH for proving to us that he is now ready to take on the best and be reckoned with. Hope he will be able to show us again that he is made of sterner stuff by subduing KJ today.

Unfortunately, if I'm not mistaken, he still misses the forthcoming WC for even the wild card entry by host Malaysia has been reserved for Roslin Hashim. If so, it will be a shame not to see him in action again, especially at home.

But will he be able to make it to the Beijing Olympics? For this, he probably will have to win a few SS and unseat Hafiz as Malaysia's No.2. A tall order indeed! ;)
