It has been another good day for Team Pelatnas. All, except for Taufik Hidayat and Hendra A. Gunawan/Joko Riyadi have won their matches. It was a classic match between the two good friends with close scores in all the sets. Lee Chong Wei is definitely improving and he will pose a credible threat to Lin Dan tomorrow.

Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan will be involved in another tussle with fellow compatriot Luluk Hadiyanto/Alvent Yulianto. Kido/Hendra beat AG/Joko 21-18, 21-16. Meanwhile, Luluk/Alvent continued their recent comeback with a semi-final placing after they beat Shen Ye/He Hanbin in straight sets. Their result here equals their last year's China Open feat. Will the coach impose team order tomorrow, thereby saving Kido/Hendra's energy for the Final against possibly Fu Haifeng/Cai Yun? Anyway, Kido/Hendra should advance to their first SS Final of the year.

Lilyana Natsir/Vita Marissa thrashed the Japanese pairing of Kumiko Ogura/Reiko Shiota 21-10, 21-10 to reach the semi-final of a SS event in their first try. I personally think that this pair will turn out to be better than Jo Novita/Greysia Polii :cool: The new pair will face Du Jing/Yu Yang tomorrow. A win will always be a bonus.

A quick look at the "Statistics" on the different events for both men and women seem to confirm that attacking play in the form of "smashes" and "net play" score most of the points for the players/teams.

Of course a large portion of the points also come from "Other" which I interprete as partly points scored from opponent's unforced errors like hitting and serving out.
