Lets start with "Why China lost the WD?"

that is absolutely amazing.

to be able to beat the current stable of Chinese WD doubles players in their home turf. i think this must be the first in recent history.

the INA girls have very good defense and they excel over the CHN girls in their shuttle control and shot placement. they read the rally very well and often can get to the shuttle earlier. mistakes were plenty in the first game but they played better and better as they went on.

i am glad i stayed up to watch this match. congrats to Vita and Butet!!!!!

LYB is very mad now.....dont go near him....

ZTT is such a liability in the YW-ZTT pairing. She's good, but I think she's makes too many errors at crucial points. Her mental game isn't that good, which was one of the reason why YW-ZJW was such a strong team because YW/ZJW were overall a consistent strong team.

Yeah but you could sense this momentum building up as they eliminated seed after seed. After a while you too start to believe that they could do it, and they did! Vita/Butet and WACHA are the best stories of CM 2007

we have said from very early on that Butet is an excellent player and if she plays WD she can make a very strong WD for INA. Vita is probably the next best that INA has to offer and this shows that it is still possible to beat the Chinese.

Incredible, CHN denied a clean sweep on a field that they usually conquer so easily. And much more so unbelieveable that who stole the title is Indonesia which usually not strong enough in WD department:eek:

Knowing LYB, he'll probably stand by the YW-ZTT pairing despite the lack of coordination the strong Indonesian women exposed between the two. ZTT's game just doesn't work well with Yang Wei's it looked like.

Yes, what a performance by Natsir/Marissa! Esp Natsir is such a gifted player, her racquet skills and anticipation is excellent.

what a match. i think natsir and marissa played the right gameplan, which is the tricky placement that troubled the chinese greatly. they were very calm even though they were caught up at 13-15 after leading 13-10. ztt could be dangerous especially at the net but she made quite a handful of silly errors.

well done to lin dan for winning his home event!

I suppose this is the first time since China began to actively participate in international badminton competitions (i.e., since they entered to TC/UC and won UC back in 1980s) that they send the full force of WD out to a tournament and yet fail to win the title in this category. Am I right?

Du/Yu beat Wei/Zhang in 3 games in qf, and Yang/Zhao beat Gao/Huang in qf ... wonder whether LYB will resume reinforcement of team order (if it did exist in the past anyway) soon?

Congrats to INA squad for punching a hole in CHN's strongest armour, the Women's Doubles. Could have been 2 for 2 too, with the Men's Doubles. Cai Yun wasn't playing that well today and INA MD had an even chance, had the service faults, receiver fault and bad line call not derailed Kido/Setiawan's chances.

WCH did well though, except for his control over the draft in the 2nd game.

Glad that Gao Ling/Zheng Bo won the XD. Even though they are rank No. 3 in the world but to me both of them is the best XD in the world. ;)

Actually it is ironic....INA did not win any titles in Indonesian open ( quite embarassing )but won 1 title in China...hope PBSI learned lesson and send more younger players to improve their mental, especially playing against chinese...

Lilyana/Vita menjadi sejarah bulutangkis Indonesia yang mengakhiri paceklik gelar juara pebulutangkis pelatnas Cipayung Padahal, nomor ganda putri selama ini dipandang sebelah mata karena kualitasnya tidak kunjung meningkat.

Melihat sejarah sejak 2004, nomor ganda putri hanya baru bisa bicara di kejuaraan berlevel satelit, bintang dua, dan empat. Tercatat, saat kejuaraan Asia 2004, pasangan Rani Mundiasti/Endang Nursugianti meraih gelar juara. Sayangnya, keberhasilan tersebut tidak berlanjut, hingga Rani/Endang baru kembali juara saat kejuaraan bintang dua Belanda Terbuka.

Jo Novita/ Gresyia Polii yang diduetkan sejak 2005 hanya meraih satu gelar di kejuaraan bintang empat Filipina Terbuka, tahun lalu. ''Kemenangan ini membuktikan kepada dunia bulutangkis internasional bahwa ganda putri Indonesia bisa bersaing melawan China,'' ujar Lilyana. Pada pertandingan kemarin, pasangan yang kali pertama diduetkan di China harus menjalani partai menegangkan.

Bagaimana tidak, harapan menyelesaikan pertandingan dengan dua set kemenangan ternyata berubah jadi tiga set. Bertanding di set pembuka, pasangan asal klub Tangkas Jakarta ini terlambat panas dan harus menelan kekalahan pertama 12-21. Tidak ingin jadi pecundang, dua dara ayu pelatnas Cipayung ini langsung menggebrak di set kedua dan terus unggul sejak poin pembuka hingga posisi 19-14.

Lilyana/Vita yang mengandalkan permainan net berhasil merebut kemenangan di set kedua, 21-15. Set ketiga, Lilyana/Vita harus menguras tenaga lebih keras lagi. Saling kejar mengejar poin terus terjadi. Mulai 8-8, 13-13, dan 15-15. Setelah itu, Lilyana/Vita langsung melejit menambah poin hingga 20-15. Meski Zhao/Yang sempat mencuri satu poin, tapi dewi fortuna tetap berpihak kepada pasangan Indonesia ini, yang akhirnya memboyong gelar juara perdana Super Series ke Tanah Air.

Pada pertandingan lain, Indonesia juga memiliki peluang untuk mengawinkan juara ganda putra-putri. Sayangnya, Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan gagal menaklukkan juara dunia ganda putra Fu Haifeng/Cai Yun. Kekhawatiran Kido/Hendra akan ketangguhan fisik dan mental tanding Fu/Cai akhirnya terbukti. Pada partai final ulangan 2006 ini, Kido/Hendra menyerah 15-21, 16-21 dalam waktu 31 menit. Wow...Lilyana Natsir/Vita Marissa have done the impossible, beating 3 Chinese pairs, the 4th seed Wong Pei Tty/Chin Ee Hui and a top 10 ranked Kumiko Ogura/Reiko Shiota en route to winning the title. Both Du Jing/Yu Yang and Yang Wei/Zhao Tingting beat their compatriots Wei Yili/Zhang Yawen and Gao Ling/Huang Sui earlier, so, beating two of the top 4 pairs in front of the home crowd was simply an incredible feat :eek:

I was unable to watch or follow the game live yesterday afternoon due to some family matters. Neither was I able to access the Internet until this morning. Imagine my shock and joy when I read Kompas (yeah, I am in SBY now) at 7:30am local time. Unbelieavable indeed :cool:

True to my prediction, this pair is definitely going to kick some butts...and will be stronger than Jo Novita/Greysia Polii to emerge as INA's no 1 pair for both the Olympics and Uber Cup next year!

IMHO, Jo Novita is simply too weak and should be replaced! Greysia Polii deserves a better partner than her. Jo Novita/ Gresyia Polii yang diduetkan sejak 2005 hanya meraih satu gelar di kejuaraan bintang empat Filipina Terbuka, tahun lalu. ''Kemenangan ini membuktikan kepada dunia bulutangkis internasional bahwa ganda putri Indonesia bisa bersaing melawan China,'' ujar Lilyana. Pada pertandingan kemarin, pasangan yang kali pertama diduetkan di China harus menjalani partai menegangkan.

Bagaimana tidak, harapan menyelesaikan pertandingan dengan dua set kemenangan ternyata berubah jadi tiga set. Bertanding di set pembuka, pasangan asal klub Tangkas Jakarta ini terlambat panas dan harus menelan kekalahan pertama 12-21. Tidak ingin jadi pecundang, dua dara ayu pelatnas Cipayung ini langsung menggebrak di set kedua dan terus unggul sejak poin pembuka hingga posisi 19-14.

Lilyana/Vita yang mengandalkan permainan net berhasil merebut kemenangan di set kedua, 21-15. Set ketiga, Lilyana/Vita harus menguras tenaga lebih keras lagi. Saling kejar mengejar poin terus terjadi. Mulai 8-8, 13-13, dan 15-15. Setelah itu, Lilyana/Vita langsung melejit menambah poin hingga 20-15. Meski Zhao/Yang sempat mencuri satu poin, tapi dewi fortuna tetap berpihak kepada pasangan Indonesia ini, yang akhirnya memboyong gelar juara perdana Super Series ke Tanah Air.

This INA WD is not new actually. Already tried at Indonesia League 2007 and they are very solid. Tangkas badminton club made this WD LILIANA/VITA MARISSA, so I think PBSI see is good result for then at Indonesia League and try this one for China Master SS and result also good..

In case you aren't aware, WD in Malaysia is called "beregu wanita" whereas Indonesia calls it "ganda putri".

Greysia is excellent on both offense and defense. And so feisty too... Very spunky... Mentally very tough. I like her. She has fire in her eyes... ;) I talked to Greysia a couple of times in the Indonesian Superliga Badminton. Greysia is nice to me... Firda too. I actually like all of the Jaya Raya girls... Friendly bunch of people... :D

Basically Kido said that Umpire cheated them....( diakali wasit), literraly umpire fooled them....he did complaint about it and at the same time, He praised a good play of FHF/CY.

"Usai" = finished/completed

Actually in this final, I might agree with the players ....as Service judge faults most of foreign players' service, I did not see one for CHN...4 service fault equals 4 points to opponents....also 2 for ENG if I am correct...Does not mean that they would win but at least the score could be tighten...;)

In NSS, 4 service fault equals 8, not 4 points to opponents. Eg if A is 5 and B is 3 before wrong call,A would have been 6 and B 3 if correct. Instead it becomes A is 5 and B 4. So what should have been 6-3 becomes 5-4. So even one wrong call can determine the wrong winner.The worse thing about service fault calls is that it is likely to jitterbug the poor victimised player so he cannot continue to play his best.It's the easiest way for the sj to decide the match outcome.Never underestimate the power of the sj.Umpire is nothing compared to the sj's sleaze.
