Greetings,

At Suppertime@CCC after our Wednesday Session on 18-July-2007, I mentioned to DoublesPlease that I love quotations. :):):)

And that I have posted 2 quotations in a thread@Badminton Central in the last 24 hours.

So... if any member@ccc hear of good quotations, please add on to this thread. :):):)

====== * ======
I believe that this is true...

"Mankind would lose half its wisdom built up over centuries if it lost its great sayings. They contain the best parts of the best books"

Thomas Jefferson, 1743-1826
President of the Untied States of America
====== * ======

====== * ======
And to DoublesPlease...

This is the exact quotation that I wasn't sure when we were at Suppertime@CCC;

"We can be cured of depression in only fourteen days if every day we will try to think of how we can be helpful to others"

Alfred Adler, 1870-1937
Austrian psychiatrist
====== * ======

====== * ======
And to our members@ccc...

"Good, the more communicated, the more abundant grows"

John Milton, 1608-1674
English poet
====== * ======

====== * ======
And to our trainees@ccc...

"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime"

Chinese proverb

And this is what we hope... for trainees who attend our CATS (Coaching And Training Sessions), that you will enjoy Good Badminton for a lifetime. :):):)

Greetings,

A member@ccc asked me what were the 2 quotations that I have posted in a thread@Badminton Central.

The quotations are listed here, below...

====== * ======

"For one word a man is often declared to be wise, and for one word he can be judged to be foolish. We should be careful indeed what we say."

Confucius, c.550-478 BC
Chinese philosopher

====== * ======

"Through zeal, knowledge is gained, through lack of zeal, knowledge is lost. Let a man who knows this double path of gain and loss thus place himself that knowledge may grow."

Buddha, 563-483 BC
Indian religious teacher and founder of Buddhism
====== * ======

And they were posted in kwun's thread, ANNOUNCEMENT: new Karma system, located at:

Greetings,

A member@ccc, hkhung, posted an idea... but mentioned that it's a crazy idea.

But it reminded me of this quotation...

====== * ======

"There is nothing in the world more powerful than an idea. No weapon can destroy it; no power can conquer it, except the power of another idea."

Anonymous
====== * ======

And what hkhung is talking about... can be found in this post located at:

Found this saying that I like (and I thought I'll post it here before I forget it).

"When people walk away from you, let them go...

Your destiny is never tied to anyone who leaves you, and it doesn't mean that they are bad people.

It just means that their part in your story is over."

"Success is going from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm." - Winston Churchill

(....in which case, I'm the most 'successful' badminton player in history! :rolleyes:)

"We make mistakes; other people commit sins."
-cobalt; eminent philosopher and guide.

You know something; Whenever we find a saying that inspires something, there is always another that counteracts it. :D:D:D

Example:

* "Good things come to him who waits"

-versus-

* "Time and tide wait for no man"

:D:D:D

But then we have (Who said this?)... "If you don't make mistakes, you don't make anything".

and

(Who said this?)... "The wages of sin is death".
