ok thing is im an under 17 badminton player/year 11 student, i love the game, its fantastic, so much u can do with it but up untill now ive just been knocking about with my mates, booking courts etc along with one session a week by steve foster( i live in mk where england players train) but ive never really thought about drills etc lol will they really help my game, now bucks picked me up all im doing is movement drills and its so boring and knackering and i jus wanna do it for fun but there going on about potentle etc lol, i want to be good but i dnt want it to be boring, normal drills are ok but movement lol thats all i seem to be doing, so boring,,,:crying:

however i do want to be good and with no training i beleive i could be good, advice to improve appreciated!

1) welcome to BCBF.
2) happy for your game.
3) may be you got talent, but it will only take you so far. keep up the good work and drill. it will only make you better.

ps. drill are suppose be boring. that is what make you tougher.

not necessarily ....... when i started doing drills i found it repititive and boring....but as you do it more you'll enjoy the 'movement flow'..:)

and yes, there's no better way to improve so love drills! In UK where badminton isn't as popular maybe people don't know how important drills are.... in competitive countries like china, they have an amorphous talent pool of kids who had done footwork drills since a really young age.....such that it's a near-impossible task for late starters to gain the skill and experience needed to even compete with those high level players...drills are in fact so indispensible
