Lee Chong Wei will take the mens inspite of getting a walkover in the semi's. He has been consistent in the SS circuit winning Indonesia.

Rest will go as robin7 has mentioned...

My heart wants CHEN Hong but my mind says LEE Chong Wei.

Koo/Tan will probably win the MD.

I would like the young Korean mixed pair to take their first title (would it be?) but the #1 INA mixed pair might be too much for them to handle.

Zhou Mi is too experienced for the young Zhu Jing Jing.

I hope the TPE pair will take their first title of the year.

Similarity with Asian Junior Champs final

MS - CHN (Chen Hong/Chen Long) v MAS (Lee Chong Wei/Mohd Arif)
WS - CHN (Zhu Jingjing/Liu Xin) v CHN-born (Zhou Mi/Gu Juan)
MD - CHN v MAS
XD - KOR v South East Asian top seed

Well, I fail to find a link for WD, but good enough.

Prediction:
CHN to lose all finals, and INA to take XD. Chen Hong and Han/Hwang will come close.

Yes, their confidence level right now is high.. especially LD who defeated LCW last tournament... they don't want to play another tourny before WC because a loss would damage their confidence... :D (my theory is realistic right?)

Yes... i totally agree with you...if they didnt play 4 any tournament (bfore the wc) their confident level will increase... but in that time surely the other player will improve their skills..:cool::cool:... I think,if they just take part in the tournament, they will practice while increase their ranking point...plus,if they keep fighting with outsider player, they will know the weakness n the strenght of their opponent....So,they will know with whom they should be alert... what's the difference between mainland, native and china chinese??

well, good question.

Mainland chinese means chinese in the mainland China. The opposite is non-Mainland chinese, could be taiwan chinese, hong kong chinese, american chinese.

Native chinese means chinese in their homeland. The opposite is overseas Chinese.

China chinese means chinese in the country of China.

so the scope is like these:

Native Chinese = Mainland Chinese + Hong Kong Chinese + Macau Chinese + Taiwan Chinese

Native Chinese = China Chinese + Taiwan Chinese

China Chinese = Mainland Chinese + Hong Kong Chinese + Macau Chinese

so
Native Chinese > China Chinese > Mainland Chinese

see, yannie understands well the difference between mainland Chinese and native Chinese, or China Chinese. Because native Chinese includes Chinese in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau, and China Chinese includes Chinese in Hong Kong and Macau.

I meant CHN domination in badminton. And I meant I'm going to lose interest ***in badminton*** if that continues. Other than that, life goes on as usual. I've been visiting China for 6 times in the last 7 years and I may set my personal record of visiting China twice within a year if my planned trip to Wuhan will take place in October (I went to Guangzhou a few weeks ago).

CHN dominating a single sports events in Badminton will seriously dampened the Olympics Spirits ! We were in DANGER of losing this events being held for future OG IF the situations continues ! IOC will probably drop badminton frm OG ! So hopes CHN will considering on it & ot being too selfish . They shld follow the examples of KOR on Taekwondo & JPN on their KarateDo in which both countries helps out developing this sports in other countries.. They even did not send their participant in World Cup for this 2 sports (in several single exercise).. To raise a new World Champions for another countries outside them to have a chance of winning the world title ! I doubt CHN Badminton Association can do the same on that...!

China domination can be a plus for badminton during its growing (popularity) gain. Imagine if botswana dominate badminton, badminton would never be in the OG. IOC wouldnt dare to drop badminton without china's blessing. It use to be (and now) that US dominated sports are a shoe-in for the OG. Look at tracks and field, so many events of similar sport (eg, sprinting). China is the next big wig, and dont forget russia, india are making progress in badminton too. By "we don't like China dominates badminton", we didn't mean that China should just give up or give away, but we hope other countries will catch up (perhaps with China's help). China doesn't have to dominate the games (e.g., sweep 80% of international titles - pretty much the case nowadays for those tournaments that China send all their best to) to ensure the game's popularity in its own country and keep badminton in OG. China is influential but not THAT influential to stop IOC from dropping particular games from OG. Instead, if China keeps dominate the game, causing other countries to give up or don't give their best (i.e., their governments and their sponsors cut down their sponsorship), thus worsen the imbalance, IOC would perceive badminton as a one-country game (i.e., only popular within one country, no matter how big and how influential the country is) and therefore the game will be dropped from OG.

OK.. then could u pls explain Y CHN cany follow the footsteps of KOR / JPN for developing the interests of Other Countries in Taekwondo/ Karate respectively! Today.. More countries participating in those 2 events compare v Badminton.. Pls correct me IF i am wrong !

China has also been playing a big part in promoting wushu as an international sport. In the past world meets, CHN team often withdraws from about 1/4 to 1/3 of the individual events (if not, they could easy achieve clean sweeps year after year) to give other countries' athletes the chance to become world champions, thus increasing those countries' interest in supporting the sport. Those CHN athletes who were forced to withdraw might be upset but they knew it's for the sport's good - and they just took turn to withdraw (or if one athlete is good for winning 2 or more golds in different categories, they could just withdraw from one of the categories).

MS: Native Chinese (chen h) vs Overseas Chinese (lcw)
WS: Guang East Chinese (zhu jj) vs Guang West Chinese (zm)
or: Canton Chinese (zhu jj) vs Hong Kong Chinese (zm)
MD: Malaysia Chinese vs China Chinese
WD: Taiwan Chinese vs Mainland Chinese

Why should LCW should be Overseas Chinese and different from the Malaysian MD when the MD are Malaysia Chinese. Overseas Chinese refers to someone who was born in China but migrating to overseas. LCW was born in Malaysia. Raised in Malaysia. Trained in Malaysia. But his skill was perfected by Chinese and Malaysian coaches.

Currently, Chinese coaches are sharing all the prize money with their players. In order to have more income, the chief coach will send the best players to the SS tournaments in order to grab away all the prize money and also to prevent foreign countries players from collecting too much points from these tounaments.
So, they will continue to send their best players to sweep 80% of international titles for the sake of their personal income.

Well, I wouldn't predict a match result by just analyzing one player's mentality. I could say LCW also desires to win this to boost his confidence in the upcoming WC - if he couldn't beat CH, how could he beat LD? He certainly wants to prove it LD won't be able to stop him to become the first MAS player to be the world champion. He has also been a real fighter whenever he is motivated. So, all things being equal, I won't just look at one player's mentality to predict the outcomes.

That's why we argue that this will harm the sport in long term if the trend continues.

OK.. then could u pls explain Y CHN cany follow the footsteps of KOR / JPN for developing the interests of Other Countries in Taekwondo/ Karate respectively! Today.. More countries participating in those 2 events compare v Badminton.. Pls correct me IF i am wrong !because china is a communist country. This is so obvious. kung fu wont be like today without bruce lee.

btw, there are many ex chinese pros that are available as coaches, cheap too but no one wanted them. Zhao jinhua, yang yang, plus many others. How come they were not utilized by other countries? Don't blame china. China doesnt hold secrets of badminton like kung fu. China is a weakling only decades ago, they learned from scratch, something ANY countries can do. china werent even allow to play ibf sanctioned tournaments or join IBF in the early days. Stop whining about china domination.

U can blame kung fu on china but not for badminton.

Just plain bias stupidity to say Chinese made products are low in quality and some European or Japan made product is high quality...
Off topic abit. I am not being biased here but the fact is China made products are usually low in quality comparing to Japan or Euro made. Thats the fact we all knew very well. But thats healthy for us because we can have better product mix. Now even low income earner can enjoy watching badminton coverage on a cheap China made LCD TV.:D

Do u seriously fink that ZJH/YY interest in coaching a badminton team??? No source ever mentioned that any offer by them self.. I have come across from frans working in mass media that they never even fink about coaching.. so its no the matter of any countries want them.. Its just their personal choice..
CH/ZM is still in their playing days.. Y should the quit & become a coach at the moments?

Well, I wouldn't predict a match result by just analyzing one player's mentality. I could say LCW also desires to win this to boost his confidence in the upcoming WC - if he couldn't beat CH, how could he beat LD? He certainly wants to prove it LD won't be able to stop him to become the first MAS player to be the world champion. He has also been a real fighter whenever he is motivated. So, all things being equal, I won't just look at one player's mentality to predict the outcomes.
i support your opinion
at least chance of 50:50 for straight set n 80:20 if go for rubber, LCW will win

China does not have the prerogative to promote badminton around the world. (I am not saying they shouldn't or they don't, just that they don't have the responsibility.) Korea promotes Taekwon-do, Japan promotes Karate-do and China promotes Wushu (how come all so violent?) because these originates from their own country.

It is not China's fault that they dominate badminton. It is not other countries' fault also. But it would be nice if other countries close the gap. We still see others (Taufik) winning the most important title.

We didn't blame China. We consider promoting badminton in other parts of the world an option, not responsibility, for China. Our argument is simply that China's domination in badminton will do more harm than good to the sport. That's all.

That has been confirmed on the first day of PO (i.e., last Wednesday). The point gap between KS/MH and KKK/TBH is 1,000+ but Kido/Markis has skipped PO. Therefore, as long as KKK/TBH won their R1 match, the points they earned were sufficient to overtake KS/MH.

That has been confirmed on the first day of PO (i.e., last Wednesday). The point gap between KS/MH and KKK/TBH is 1,000+ but Kido/Markis has skipped PO. Therefore, as long as KKK/TBH won their R1 match, the points they earned were sufficient to overtake KS/MH.

hmmm, good news again:p, thank U for the explaination....U R so good in this....and I still rooting for KKK/TBH to win today.....go for it MAS..:D

LCW will be officially move back to world No.2 on coming Thursday.

My apology! LCW will still be World No.3 on coming Thursday. I've miscalculated the WR just now. Of course, the gap between CH and LCW's WR points will be narrower (412 points, compared to 502 points now). If CH does not enter to WC and no other player catches up (i.e., LCW must at least advance to the same round eventually with CJ and BCL, and at least one round less than Gade, and at least 2 rounds less than CY), LCW will move back to world No.2 by the end of WC.
