Hey Ive been playing badminton for about 2 years at Leland High school and now since ive graduated im going to San Francisco state for college. I noticed that the south bay has a heavy concentration of badminton clubs while San Francisco state has barely any (that i have seen so far). Does anyone know where i can find one near SF State? Or a place to play?

Bay Badminton will be the closest club to SFSU when it opens.

if you want san francisco, there isn't really a club, but there are gyms you can play at night and in the morning, and the best part is its free entrance, just bring shuttles and a friend to play...here are the places to play:

glen park
tuesday night at 6:30pm to 9:30
wenesday morning at 9:00am to 12pm

lawton gym / lawton/28th
thursday morning
dont really know the time

6th street and folsom
wenesday night 6:00pm to 9:00pm i think...

castro gym
friday nights...dont know the time

one thing you can try is University of San Francisco Gym on Sundays afternoon, but you have to pay for a pass.

anyways, hope that helps

there is also South San Francisco High School, that's where i played with my friends. The thing is, it's 5 bucks a pop, and you might not get a court even if you're the first one there. It's crowded, you're sharing courts, dimmer than before (it used to be bright now it's dimmer and it's the bad kind of dim because it's that you can't see but it's not because it's dark but overexposure).

she can go to ggbc2 at emeryville. there are few good players from berkeley that goes there, look for ggbc2 in this forum.

on monday, there were few good players at least B level play.
and on thursday, its ladies night, $6 entry fee otherwise $8 all you can play.
it is also challenge court night, and sometimes the A players shows up and play. good luck...

i just went to lawton, and i highly DON'T RECOMMEND IT AT ALL. There's only 5 courts and there's no doubles line. I know, you're thinking hey isn't that really bad? No, because the people are hogs. The old people who play there a lot hog courts and don't share even if there's like 20 people waiting. AND they'll play singles or have 1 v 2.
