Return Match: CCC Vs Danny Tan's coaching team in August 2007

I have talked to my players and they would like a return match to be held at 9am to 11am on Saturday, 11 August 2007 at MSAC. This is the best time for our boys because they normally play during this time slot. It will cost $10 per player as well.

Playing format will remain largely the same. However, our players would like to have a best of three for both singles and doubles.

This morning as I turned over the page (from July to August) of my big wall calendar , I noticed that on Friday 24-August-2007 our venue is not available for us at CCC@Waverley.

So... if there is a hitch in your planning/organising of this match scheduled for Saturday 11-August-2007, then Saturday 25-August-2007 should be the best day to have it.

The 3 major events that require all car park spaces on Fridays this year, resulting in cancelling your booking, are as follows:

A reminder that the grass areas on Cathies Lane is ‘No Standing’ and therefore could incur a parking fine.

Please ask your team members first. My players are only able to play on this particular Saturday because they have no sport on this particular Saturday (they usually have school sports on all other Saturdays of the school term).


Chris, looks like 11/8 is the only sat day the school boys from danny tan can play.

Hence 25/8 does not looks like an option.

I will now try to get everybody to do 11/8.

So what's the structure of the matches? Is it going to be best of 3 for doubles and singles? And for the players who are in doubles only, do we have extra games?

i am actually a little bit worry as he has not reply to me yet. Looks like i would have to arrive ultra early on sat day morning to sort things out.

Singles and doubles will be ranked in order as usual. We will exchange team lists at the match - we both write our team lists at the same time.

As you can see, the major change this time was best of 3 in singles instead of best of one and it gave us two 3 setter between nick vs euikuk and edward c vs ronald teo.

It was not easy to many of us to get used to the fast epsilon shuttle and it shows in certain scoreline.

APOLOGY
For all of us who were elsewhere, i would not accept a friendly match to be held on sat day in near future since no one can make it. In fact, i should have asked for sat day afternoon. in that case some of you (andrew h, luke, schuze, jack) might be able to turn up.

LATE CHANGE
I was going to cancel friendly match when i only had 6 people but on sunday Nick + Lam came in.

After all the dust settle of Lam pulling out, I sms Patrick then Patrick getting back to me, i have less than 18 hours to find someone. I simply contact me the following (Helmut, Chiranthi, Thiru, Silvia, i even contact Melchor and Daniel) and obviously no one could come. Thiru even said if it's not a late notice, he might have a chance to play.

And Chris, i doubt that anyone who play friday nite would play sat day morning, especially the older people. And i honestly don't see the point of asking the same people again and again for friendly match.

Your match also affected our attendance of our Friday Night CCC@Waverley. Our courts were not fully utilised.

In fact, out of all you participants, only Ketut turned up to practise. And while playing Singles with me, he twisted his ankle. We were worried if that could affect his performance the next morning. :confused::confused::confused:

rest assured, with people working on sat day morning/sat day school besides affecting friday nite CCC, i would taken consideration when organizing for a sat day morning friendly match.

When i open up this forum page, i didn't believe my eye. The result is CCC 11 Danny Tan 1, quite big improvement if we compare to last friendly match result. Once again well done all. Keep up the good work.

a) bryan never play single
b) me + celine never ever partner before (should have seen danny's dad face at the end of the match, knowing that they had a chance in 1st set)
c) both me + nick has to play 2 singles each
we have done pretty well!

danny should be a lot happier this time as we play best of 3 in single and not many matches were one sided.

after my match against their no 8 single, i even encouraged celine to be our no.8 singles.

maybe we could have a women singles player next time heh?
