I have seen some people applying some sort of cream eg. counter pain to their tighs, arms, knees even though they have warm up or stretch enough.
Is this helpful to their game?
Pls enlightern me.
Thanks

It's called 'deep heat' or have similar properties to help the muscles warm up a little while stretching. It could help to make a more thorough warming up of the muscles.

I certainly do especially when I felt that I donot have enough time to a full warm up or my muscle is a little tight.
These creams help in warming up the muscle, and in come cases help to warm down too. So you can apply both before and/or after a game.
Of course, it should not and cannot replace a proper warm up, but add as a supplement only.
The brand I use is Tiger Palm, it's called "heat cream" or something like that and comes in small tube.

Just make sure you wash your hands properly afterwards, or it could be painful.....

me too. i usually warm up but still i use the heat rub for certain areas like the above the knees, shoulder, around the elbow's area and my wrist. sometimes the small of my back too and calf. i never skip the warm up but i feel like when i use this heat rub, it is better and the pain or soreness after playing have minimized tremendously. :D i use the mentholated kind. heats up intially, then cool down later. sure helped me with my soreness. :) and yeah, dont rub your eyes after applying these cream. or even your face. it will transfer the stinging sensation. ;)

I really like Bengay. But not for warm up, it's mainly when I'm sore/cramping to try to heat and loosen the muscles.

i just remember I used to play with this guy who rub this kind of cream generously on his hands and legs, so much so that when on court, you can smell the cream even you are in the opposite side playing against him! It is not annoying but can be quite amusing!
