Concur wholeheartedly. The 4900 is one of the best all-around rackets you can buy and one of my top three for bang-for-the-buck at $125 retail, $100 street price.

The new 7490 is supposedly an incarnation of the 4900. Does it play the same?

Nope, unless I tested the wrong racket. The 7490 is much more endloaded.

I think I will stop thinking and just get one. :)

I prefer the 4900; tried, true and proven.

Hi DinkAlot!

I have been using the 4900 before but I find it difficult for smashing and doing dropshots from the baseline. Now I bought a 7490 and it solved a lot of my problems. One thing I really like about the 4900 is that it's a great defensive racket. Can you share more of your experiences on the 4900? :)

Again, it's a great all-around racket. Difficult for smashing, I can see but dropshots? That's not the racket, that's probably your swing. But then again, everyone swings different and the 7490 is (obviously) more suited to your swing.

Thanks DinkAlot! I guess you are right that it's in my swing. I sometimes use my old 4900 and I'm still amaze of its defensive attributes since I can swing it faster than my new 7490.;)

I do not recommend the Millennium 5 series since they are not durable. Try the new Millennium 7 instead. :)
