MS:

Lin Dan vs Ng Wei
Dicky Palyama

Taufik
Hafiz

Bao CL vs Lee SL
Shoji Sato vs Lee HI

KJ
Wacha

Park SH
Chen Yu vs Joppien

Susilo
Chen Jin vs Roslin

S Santoso
P Gade

Sony
Lee CW

All the Chn players (Lindan, CJ, CY, BCL) plus Sato, there 5 seeds got a tough draw in early rounds, and Sato could be the only seed fail to pass the first 2 rounds. Poor Sato. I'm not surprised if one of the Chn players stops early, based on their current forms.

All the other 11 seeds (Palyama, Taufik, Hafiz, KJ, Wacha, Park, Susilo, Santoso, Gade, Sony and Lee CW) should advance with no problem at all.

..to gauge how LHI will perform in his 1st "big" tourney back after being absent in high level competition for quite some time:p..But perhaps, being the "freshest" and having more training time (under Li Mao), amongst any of the top competitors, will help him in some ways..;)

Here are my choices for the tricky match for R2 :-
Shoji Sato vs Lee HI
- Sato will be the 1st seeded player to crash out here

The old Williams said, the saddest thing was to see Serena and Venus fight each other in early rounds.

With slightest chance, Malaysia got all there players evenly distributed on the draw. They can only meet each other when there is no any other foreign player left.

take a look:

MS:
Q1: Hafiz
Q2: Lee TS
Q3: Roslin
Q4: Lee CW

MD:
Q1: CTF/LWW
Q2: OSH/TBS
Q3: Mohd/Mohd
Q4: KKK/TBH

sounds like pre-arranged? Hope Malaysia can sweep all the medals.

Though they are separated evenly in the draw.. It is very highly for All the MAS MS players to advance beyond R16..Except for the favorite LCW.

Lin Dan has a 3:0 sweep against Ng Wei and 3:0 sweep against Dicky Palyama

Taufik has a 3:0 perfect record against Hafiz

Bao CL lost once to Lee TS 0:1

KJ dominates Wacha 3:0

Chen Yu total controls Park SH 3:0

Chen Jin never met Susilo yet 0:0

P Gade ties with S Santoso 1:1

Lee CW is neck to neck with Sony 2:2

Often, for those "no-hopers" (sorry for the strong word but such players do exist) in winning the title but potential spoilers (e.g., OSH/TBS who beat the then off-form CY/FHF early this year), we would rather them being drawn in the same quarter of the hot favourite so that they may help clearing the path or to wear the hot favourite's major opponent(s) out by dragging their games to 3 sets.

Lee TS could repeat his victory over Bao. Not only LTS beat Bao before, but also it's Bao's first match to play LTS, while LTS will have played an unknown underclass player in the 1st round already. So LTS will be more familiar with the court, drifts, and lights.

Sharp analysis. LTS can be dangerous when energy level is high. With MAS crowd, even more likely for an upset.

I made the following prediction on August 3rd, 2007. 12 days before it started.

MS:

Lin Dan vs Ng Wei
Dicky Palyama

Taufik
Hafiz

Bao CL vs Lee SL
Shoji Sato vs Lee HI

KJ
Wacha

Park SH
Chen Yu vs Joppien

Susilo
Chen Jin vs Roslin

S Santoso
P Gade

Sony
Lee CW

I made almost perfect prediction except for Taufik. I think I always overrate and overestimate Taufik. We should have foreseen Taufik's failure from his recent continuous bad performances. A Vietnamese can beat Taufik, why not an Indian?

The badminton 1st law should also be modified. The 1st law says "Taufik will win whenever he wants to". Now Taufik claimed he wanted to win the WC as a gift to his daughter. Now the question is whether Taufik is a lier or he just cannot win when he wants to?

Maybe the 1st law should be stated as "Taufik will win whenever he's ready".

when he lost, he did not want to win or he was not ready

when he lost, he did not want to win or he was not ready

Yeah. You got it.

That's way it worked before. Everytime, when Taufik lost, then he was said not want to win.

But this time, Taufik did say he want it so badly for her daughter. So "the 1st law" got some problem to fix.

So, hm..., let's say "when he lost, he's not ready yet", yeah, sounds pretty good.
