World Championship07 OFFICIAL BC GATHERING - Sat / Semifinal 1pm @ stadium food court

Hi Guys and Gals,:)

I wonder if you like this proposal. I can get my friend to book the facility at the Vista Komanwel Condominium which is about 400m away from the Bkt Jalil Stadium. Its just opposite to the sri petaling lrt. Starts Saturday 9am till semifinal kick off.

Suggestion here is to have a fruit cocktail party there. meaning BYO. There is a badminton hall where you can have a check on your friends game (1 parquet court) and after a tough game, you can then jump into the pool for a cool dip and relaxation just next to it. There are shower facilities (pls bring your own towel and underwear ok; I dun have spare) and after the gathering, you can pop over to the semifinals game in the afternoon. The BYO party can start from 9am. For those who wants to play, please contribute RM$5 for the game fee.

As for food, you can roughly bring about minimum $10rm (the more the better of course la) of fruits, rojak, nasi lemak, satay, roti prata, fry beehoon, wanton mee (pls avoid pork or non halal items). (Bring it in small packets so that people can just try a little; the idea is not to get bloated). Fruits can be Durian (hee haha, pls bring best one la, I oso want to try!, rambutan, mangosteen, dokong-langsat, oranges, apples, mangoes). There are drinks available on the local shop there.

Suggestions welcome.:D and Names please.

PS. Pls bring your own superman trunk & goggles ya. Else, you'll be knocking on other swimmers. haha.

For accomodation near the area, you can contact the site below. There's a bus $2rm a day which will go to Bukit Jalil near the place I think. Also can walk if you want to. Pls book early. Opposite the fishing pond also got a new small hotel. Just next to the Tim Sum and bak kut teh place.

For those who want or keen to go, better book early as I am very sure, its going to be full. The last time for the Malaysian open, its difficult to get tickets to go into the Stadium Negara or even the recent Taufik & Lindan first round match. Reason being that there are bound to be a local to qualify for the semis or finals. Lots of supporters will be going. Crowd could be a problem.:D

Am not sure if the thread is really on. Sekali cancel. My site is more convinient and simple lah. After makan, cool dip, then go watch the semi finals game. Can have a game some more. Since you are from Ipoh, can tapau some KeiSee Hor Fun, Pamelo, Guavas, mango from tapah, chicken biscuit, curry chicken bread from kampar? Am sure others want to have a taste of it. Also, you can put the price there so that they can personally order it. It'll be fun to allow some to taste some of the exotic food from various places in malaysia. Boleh ka?:D

Ppls from penang, pls bring rojak and laksa. Any cendol volunteers? You can list down what you'll bring so that it'll be interesting to share it. If you are from south, can bring the kajang satay lah...

If given a choice.. I would prefer d gathering held in place with food catering services.. Coz u wouldnt know the foods/fruits u bring to the venue will be enough or even too much to swallow..
One Question : WHO WILL VOLUNTEER TO CLEAN UP THE MESS after gathering??

I guess, it can be separate, reason being some prefer it after the game and some prefer it before the game.

Morning will be convinient coz you can exercise have a game, cool dip and refresh yourself before going. Am not sure if late evening will be a good idea for some schoolers or girls. For foreigners, please be careful and not simple go to quite and secluded area as crimes may be an issue.

I can also organise a mini WC tournament at Bkt Jalil (at least close to it lah). 11 points new systems. Doubles event. Random partner will be chosen. There will be winner pool and looser pool. So that everyone gets a chance to play. Winner get tossed into the pool, looser eats durian (just kidding).

The game can start 10am till 2pm where the semis starts. If no time, we'll toss coins.

Its just some light food, no heavy drinking allowed. There are bins for you to throw away the stuffs. Tables and Chairs available.

Pamelo take the good one from the tapah rest highway lah... good one about $14rm one I think (the aunties or uncles will know how to choose). If you really serious about it, also get me the guava, 1 bag of the seedless ones and 1 bag of jambu air. I'll pay you there. If the others coming, then i think your boot will be full liao...

..time-wise and location-wise, yes, i think it's much better as having this gathering prior to the Semis will not "tie up" people's time after the Semis have ended..Just imagine it like a picnic-brunch type gathering;):cool:...But yeah, concur with hcyong, i think the people in the other list might have to be re-informed abt the possible change and if they're up to it or not...:)
Now, will extremenanopowe and hcyong be willing to organize and provide the necessary items(ie. foods, drinks etc.)??:confused:..I think if you guys are able & willing to do this, i think others will be more incline to come and join, as there will be less hassle for those attending/coming. All they have to bring and chip in is some monies..Afterwards, we all can clean-up together and go together to the venue..Just a thought..

the latest status as i understand is :

1. there will be only one gathering and it is proposed to be at the vista komanwel condo (place not yet confirm but extremenanopower will confirm the venue by tomorrow) eating area starting from around 9am up till the time the match starts at 2pm (semi final match). we will most probably go together in one big group to the stadium. wouldn;t that be a laugh when one big group of people walking together into the stadium. :D

2. there will be catered food and all those who attend are expected to pay some money for the food.

3. those capable are welcomed to bring fruits of all variety for our foreign friends to try and that includes local food too (like laksa from penang and such).

thank you very much for the offer but i will be going with my mother who will take this opportunity to visit her grandchildren and attend a kenduri. in KL i will be staying at my sister's house and my cousin (who cant go to the gathering but will be there for the semi final matches) will send me to the gathering place and meet me later at the stadium. i hope she does not cancel on me. or i will have trouble to go to the gathering and the stadium. :)

Yes. The food court near the TMnet booth and near place where KKK authograph session is.

:D :D :D i was late getting to the stadium due to last minute problem with my transportation. reached the stadium just in time to see the match between malaysian doubles players against indonesian doubles players. i was really near to the court. can see clearly the players. bought the orange noise making thingy. was disappointed malaysia lost but had a great time in the stadium deafening atmosphere anyways. i thought i missed the chance to meet other BC members. but i stuck around a bit after the final match of korean vs japan. took some pictures near the big shuttlecock and lucky me, I saw ants. he took me to meet the other BC members who were gathering at the food court inside. we took pictures outside. i think there was 12 maybe 13 of us including my cousin. i knew the members was planning to go eat satay but my cousin was itching to watch her EPL matches and since she is driving, i couldn't exactly put my foot down, hahahahahaha. i hope the guys had a great time getting to know each other during the satay dinner. wish i was there. i would have loved to enjoy some durians with you guys. sad i missed you ctjcad. hopefully we will all meet again sometime in the future. :)

The gathering was not as big or as many that i expect. One reason is due to time constrain and i'm unable to do some organising since i travel alot as well. Maybe next time i will ask help from the Fellow Msian BC members to help out. Well i did ask...but some cant. Anyway hope can have a better gathering next time elsewhere.

I think the size is ok. More chance for personal one-to-one talk. It's good to finally see the faces and the personalities behind the handles and the impersonal wordings.
