View Full Version : racquet undergroung
Hello all, I just found a racquet buried a few inches underground. Wierd huh! Anyway, it's a bit muddy so is it OK to wash a racquet with a wet cloth. I can easily put a new grip on anyway. Plus the head of the racquet is bent to one side. Is there any possible way that I can get the head fixed to it's original shape.
Sorry I spelt the heading wrong. It's supposed to be racquet underground.

Did it have a stake pounded through the sweet spot? ;)
So anyway is there a way to wash it and get the head fixed to it's normal shape?

Question is: is it worth going through all that trouble?
Washing it is not a problem (or wiping it down with a damp cloth). Getting the head frame fixed might require some effort but depending on how bad the damage is, it is possible.
What kind of racquet is it? A Boron 2? :D
No it's a classic Carlton racquet and I wouldn't mind going to the trouble because they are pretty rare now, at least where I live.

i thought the shaft is made of steel and it should be well rusted (ie. weak). Josh, is the metal in good shape so that it wouldn't break into pieces in court and risking injury to others?

lol, this whole conversation is absolutely hilarious!!
Has it occurred to you that maybe the racquet was buried for a reason? ;)
A warped head is can't really be fixed successfully, unless the racquet is made of steel perhaps.
"Hmm... I have this brand new Carlton racquet, in perfect condition. I think I'll bury it in the garden, as I've done with the rest of my most precious posessions!"
Cooler, There is no rust on the racquet whatsoever, it's just that the head is badly busted. Generally speaking, the top of the head is pointing at about a seventy or seventy five degree angle to the left. Also Mag, do you really think that someone buried it because it was a precious possesion??
Josh, what I meant was that I think somebody threw it away because it was irreparably broken.
Josh, are you for real? Or are you just joshing?

Dear Josh,
I believe that the fellow who buried this racquet had purchased a new one, and as any decent badminton player would do, he had a proper ceremonial burial to mourn his departure with his beloved Carlton racquet. Are you sure you didnt see a tombstone erected above where the racquet was dug up?
The only other plausible explanation is that you have discovered the tomb of a great Egyptian Pharoh who played badminton at an advanced level, and the racquet is cursed.
I hope this helps to sort things out :)

...or possibly the racquet was buried and was being watered and fertilized every so often in order to sprout a tree with stuttlecocks as the leaves??
PS Im just joking around Josh!
