I've seen qualifying rounds in All England and China Open before. Typically, they are played on just one or two days before the main tournament starts. Yes, you can go and see the qualifiers - I don't think many people do though.

you're a bit late!! most of the seats in the finals are limited to the expensive ones. anyway, you can buy the tickets at any Tom Lee outlets.

anyone here sitting in section 7 or 8 during the semis and section 2 for the finals?

i will definitely be there for HKO. but probably only limited to evenings unfortunately. but in either case, there should be a few members around so let's have a gathering!
