Hey there guys..i've been arnd awhile viewing the topics n stuff...this is really a good site..:)
So..i need some opinions on which racquets to choose:
the Yonex Armortec 900 Power and Technique...
what is the difference between them?one smashes harder and the other one provides better control?
I've been playing badminton from the age of 7 and it's been 9 years now...
Since this year January..i've been experiencing slight pain at the arm joint while trying to smash...so i don't really do that often...if anyone could tell me more information regarding this problem it could be nice!it's not muscle sprain or pain..it just became like that....
So i don't really smash much at court...most is just no-power smash but too far for the opponent to return...in singles mostly i just let them run here n there...
So umm...which racquet should i get?the Power is looking good as it can smash nicely as i heard...but the Technique seems perfect to control the court...Ahh!i'm :crying::crying:
Appriciate ye'all's help!thanks!

The racket doesn't smash. It's you who do the smashing´, the racket is just a middle man between you and the strings :-).. WHich one gives you the fastest smash, depends on your own arm speed and technique. At900P has the POTENTIAL of a harder smash, but it all comes down if you can swing it fast/hard enough..

From what you describe you should focus on getting your arm rehabilitated... Neither the 900 Technique or Power are very good for a drop, lift, defence type of game.. And I think both of them have quite much vibrations, so they are not friendly if you have arm probs..
If you cannot get better in the arm, I would say NS7000 or NS7700 or SOTX LG-300 or AT700 would be better options.

I have also been experiencing pains in my shoulder area or arm joint if you will. It has gotten considerably better, because a while ago everytime I played badminton it would be a slight lingering pain, perhaps similar to yours. I took a break from badminton and strenuos shoulder activity for a while and I have picked up playing badminton for about 2 months now. My shoulder has gotten considerably better, howerver its still not perfect, I need more rest now between the times I play. As for what I believe it was, I think it was probably an overuse injury like tendinitis in the shoulder or possibly a rotator cuff injury. But look, I am no doctor. I strongly suggest if this is a problem that you consult a proffesional about you injury. There is a sticky regarding the restriction of giving medical advice in this website. There are proffesional websites where you can go seek medical advice, but the best thing to do is go see a doctor, just be careful with your injuries.

hmm, u sound like pushing for powerball product to him. haha. anyway, i think u should consult doctor for this kind of thing? i cant comment much though. For racket i think AT900 might be demanding for u.

i guess i'll pay the doctor a visit..i went once last time and he simply diagnosed and said that i sprained my muscle -__-"
btw..how come u recommend NS7000/7700 ,SOTX LG-300 and AT700?
is it because it's lighter?
@killersmashes
what is powerball?:pwhere can i get it uhh..?i'm from malaysia..n how does it help also!@_@...
@silver
it's actually not Yonex AT900..it's another brand recommended by the racquet shop i used to go..the brand is Dchamp...the design is almost same as the AT 900 but of course..it's not the real one...quality wise it's somehow like Grade A++..
the price for a yonex at900 is too much for my budget i guess which is around RM300...
I do want a good quality racquet..i've seen FLEET/IMPACT break into 2 when my friend used it to smash...*ah..this is starting to become a"what kinda racquet should i buy thread ">_>..

It's easier on the arm with less heaadheavy and less stiffness (given that there are good vibration dampening in the handle).
I would also suggest to string with less tension until your arm gets better.

Yep if you have arm problems and littel use of a smash then the AT's dont sound like the racquet you should choose. See a doctor and or sports physio and get the arm treated before going for a stiff and head heavy racquet. For now probably better off with something medium stiff, light and with a widebody head to reduce arm pain.
