I recently bought a second at900p and it only has stripes on one side of the frame and my other at900p has stripes on both sides
fwi, one's a 4U CD model and one's a 3U SP
Does anyone know why they're different? I see on Yonex's website that at900 is supposed to be striped on both sides...

Where did you purchase the rackets? Maybe 1st verify whether they are real or not. Which one "missing" the stripes?

Can you post the ser# and cond code of the SP racquet? Also, I assume the top racquet with white string is the SP version, right? By the way, is the grip different fro the SP vs the CD? Can you take some clear pictures? thanks...

Correct me if I am wrong, The ser# doesn not add up. Yonex made 10,000 racquet in 3 days?
Is the grip the same?

the_oro

the cd was $260 at the time, the sp was $220
An authorized dealer is not allowed to sell other coded rackets.
$220 for an SP? You got ripped off because an SP purchased from an authorized dealer is like around 170-180 CDN.
Put it this way, I spent about around 160-170 CDN for a JP AT900T.

In general, I find goods in TO <= the prices here in Vancouver so it's kinda bizarre that you got your JP for so much cheaper... it's even cheaper than the prices my friend quoted me from HK... Mind sharing where you got the JP for 160-170?
I bought it from a secure undisclosed location.

lets just say this..don't buy SP rackets..crap @$$ QC..and no warranties ne where..if you can afford a SP..all u need to do is fill in a couple more hundred dollars HK for a JP racket..therefore, we can conclude..DON'T BUY ANY YONEX RACKETS CODED WITH ANYTHING ELSE OTHER THAN <CP OR JP>..then your quality will be reassured..=p

well..funny u say that..one thing you have not noticed is that your grommets are so0o0o banged up its not even funni and the holes outside those grommets are jammed so break your racket will break any second..and..over-tensioning your rackets when they can't even take that much just shows your mis-care and disrespect for your rackets.

It's normal for yonex to make a flaw. One of my mp77 didn't have the yy symbol printed on one of its side. The shaft of one of my at700 was not inserted properly into the handle and it can be seen clearly when placed on a table and looked from the butt of the handle where it is clearly tilted and not facing flat. I also came across several threads about flaws from yonex.
Another question that arise is the theory saying that sp,th versions etc are of lower quality compared to jp and cd versions.
I dunno who made the hypothesis and who proved it making it a theory, but that's what people are saying. For instance a store in Penang is only selling Jp version because according to the seller, jp version can be strung at higher tensions compared to sp version.
Well in my case, both of my at700 had cracks on the inside top when strung at 28lbs. The ti7, ti3 light are worse still. It'll be distorted and break anytime with a high tension.

They import racquets from SP to sell for cheaper, but no warranty for those that want it. I went there a while back and saw a new Ti-10, and many racquets that were SP coded.
The question is, are you willing to pay for the rip off price or get it directly from the authorized dealer which is allowed to the coded racket.
Athelete1234
08-21-2007, 03:40 PM
I go for CD, but I purchase from lees. Warranty is always a plus, because sometimes, accidents may happen.
True Athelte, but since Yonex Canada is not bring the models like 3UG4 and G5 for the AT900 so, customers will have to purchase else where to get what you want.
Athelete1234
08-21-2007, 03:50 PM
I agree with that, but when the specs are to your liking, there's no reason not to purchase from authorized dealerships :).
Yep, that's true! Assuming they are authorized to sell the coded racket.

Lee's is very close to Yo's, about 2 streets away. The price difference is pretty small too. Yo's sells AT700 for $235, Lees sells for $238.50. Both CD coded.

Ask Yonex.

There are no authorized dealers on Ebay as the dealers are not allowed to sell there. You can purchase rackets online, as long as they are an authorized dealer. Other than that, if you want to go some other route, it is at your discretion.

But what $$ are you going to save seeing that your wage is earned when strings break and/or new rackets are purchased!?!
A lot of other people save up money too (just like you) and are willing to expend all that they've saved to purchase a new racket when their current one breaks since we all love the sport of badminton and can't go by a day without it. String tension in many ways is a matter of personal preference. Just like car owners tuning their vehicles ... each approach their setups differently but in the end, its what makes themselves happy that matters. And sometimes what makes them happy is not what makes the stringer happy , but a professional stringer would recognize that if the customer asks for it, then they're paying for your badminton happiness.
String it up and save up.

was looking at 6 of taufiks rackets lined up after stringing in sudirman cup (with taufik written on the paper grip), they were a mixture of "IP" and "SP", but I could not see the country code on the SP ones because the cone serial bit was gripped over, the IP ones did not have SP on the shaft.
was gonna take a pic with my n95, but the stringer was already giving me evils from picking the rackets up! :crying:
