Just wondering who's going to attend the Japan Open this year. I will be there for the first two days and from the QFs through to the Finals. Will be touring Japan again the week before the tournament and playing some badminton again with my club friends :).

I'm seriously considering a trip to Tokyo to watch the Tokyo open. How far is Grand Prince Hotel Akasaka from the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium? Is there a train from said hotel to the venue? Thanks !

Yes there is a train station Akasaka station. Just walking distance from the hotel. But it will be hard to find your way to the stadium. You can either go to Shibuya station and walk about 25mins to the stadium or you can stop at Harajuku station. I'm not familiar how to go by train, but that is what i did before. But then when i stayed at the official hotel, they have the official bus to go to the venue. Taxi is too expensive.

Thank you Ants. What hotel is near the venue? I want to stay in the official hotel but I'm not sure if I could take the shuttle bus from the hotel to the stadium. I did that in Malaysia but I'm not sure if they will allow me to do that in Tokyo. I know how to take the train in Tokyo because normally I use the train going around. Normally, I stay at the Shinjuku area. I think it will be better to stay in a hotel near the venue. Maybe you have some suggestions.:)
You can stay either in Shibuya Tobu Hotel ( nearest to stadium ) or Shibuya Excel Hotel Tokyu. Excel Hotel Tokyu hotel is much better since its located in the shopping area.

You're right. It's down the road across the hotel for the Tokyo Metro Marunoichi line, transfer at Yotsuya station to the JR line towards Sendagaya. :)
