Are you talking about sweat bands? Players use them to reduce the amount of sweat on their hands, so that they have a better hold on the racket.

Or its a tennis elbow brace, maybe.

If so, I wear mine as a reminder of a close family friend that died of cancer. Many others wear it probably for comfort or as a fashion statement.
