One of our members@ccc suggested that we should have a special thread@Badminton Central just for ANNOUNCEMENTS ONLY.

And from this Announcement Thread, we can direct/provide our members with links to our various threads, where certain subjects of discussion or conversation are occurring.

This is a good idea because CCC has grown bigger and some of our members are disoriented when they have a look at our forum for their first time...... so let's try this out. :):):)

Hi all,

As a part of the ongoing improvement of facilities, MSAC is undergoing a full replacement of the carpeted surfaces on its ground level.

While is expected that these works will have no impact on the day-to-day business operations, please be aware of the potential barriers and hazards that may occur as a result.

The first stage of the process will begin after closing on the night of Thursday 13 September and involves the area between the centre management staircase all the way down to the basketball courts.

The old carpet tiles will be removed, the sub-floor grinded and treated with a complete moisture barrier.

The installation of the new carpet tiles will commence on Monday 17 September and is expected to be completed by Friday 21 September.

The second stage commences on the night of Monday 8 October. It will repeat the process outlined above in the main entry / reception area and is expected to be completed by Wednesday 10 October.

Good News arrived today...

MSAC told me today, 27-December-2007, that we could have our CCC sessions there during January 2008, for every Wednesday and Friday night. :):):)

It is decided to just have our CCC Social Sessions there @MSAC on Wednesday and Friday nights. CCC Coaching would only be at MSAC on every Sunday morning.

Hello Chris and all CCC Members,

Just wanted to introduce our club in San Francisco, CA, Golden Gate Badminton Club 1 & 2, also known as GGBC 1 & 2. My name is Sally and I'm am the Executive Director at GGBC. I was just browsing around BC during the new year and couldn't help noticing how totally enthusiastic your CCC group is! We are far apart geographically but having the same love of badminton brings us all closer together doesn't it ;)? I have been to Sydney and Melbourne many times and I love Australia but those were not in my badminton days :rolleyes:. Now we have badminton friends in Aussie and will certainly look you up if we go "down under"! We would be so happy if you can visit GGBC one day to hit some feathers together and talk "bad" talk!:D Alot of badminton clubs have opened in our Bay Area in the last 2 years, so if you came, you'd have plenty of action till exhaustion! Blissful exhaustion :p!

It's certainly a pleasure to meet here with you (hope you didn't find me intrusive!:p) and I wanted to present to you with our 1st GGBC monthly newsletter. We hope we can communicate with Badmintonites around the world and spread the Badminton "bug" together! Hope you will find the time to go to our GG site to read it. This is a sad post/thread.

I am in distress... my mother back in Malaysia is terminally ill with luekemia at her death bed.

I could be called back to Malaysia at any time. When I am away in Malaysia, we will need our members to continue organising our CCC Badminton sessions.

Our CCC communication is based here at Badminton Central.

I wish that all you members could continue with our regular sessions and communicate here at Badminton Central.

Also when I am away, we will need someone to pick up Llewellyn for our Friday sessions@Waverley.

And for our Wednesday@MSAC, we will need someone to organise our sessions.

For our Saturday and Sunday training sessions, members can decide to turn it into Social Games sessions or cancel them all together. Please let me know so that I can cancel our permanent bookings@MSAC.

We need to communicate here@Badminton Central ASAP.

Many players have asked: When will MSAC be closed for CCC Badminton because of the 2009 Melbourne Grand Prix?

Answer: MSAC will be closed on Tuesday 24-Mar-2009 and will reopen on Tuesday 31-Mar-2009.

Therefore, for our CCC Badminton sessions, we will not be there on:
25-March-2009 Wednesday (for our Social Games), and
29-March-2009 Sunday (for our Coaching and Training).

Please mark your calender.

So far, many of our Thursday night players have not joined Badminton Central yet. We hope that they are reading our thread here.

Important notices/announcements can be made here.

Last Thursday 12-Mar-2009, only 4 booked in, but 18 turned up. The 14 just assumed that every week is the same (which we hope it should/could be). But don't be surprised that sometimes unforeseen situations can happen.

At our Thursday CCC at Aqualink Box Hill, we organise things this way:
(1) If our venue is available, we shall always hold our sessions
(2) Since we have only 3 courts, it is best for us not to exceed 24 players

So far we have held 9 sessions here. And we have never exceeded 24 players. But we can see that our numbers are increasing gradually. Soon we will need to follow like what we do for our Wednesday CCC at MSAC, when many players are wishing to attend.

Just received a phone call from Waverley Christian College (our CCC Friday venue) saying that workers fixing some glass panels above the entrance area could not be completed. Therefore it's not safe for us to play tonight, Good Friday 10-Apr-2009.

We need to inform all CCC players that our session tonight (Good Friday 10-Apr-2009) could not be held.

Staff from Waverley Christian College said that they will put a notice at the gate for us.

Again, we are hoping that our CCC players are reading our threads here at Badminton Central.

Please be informed that our CCC Karaoke Party (Saturday 16-May-2009) will be using a Karaoke System which can rate your singing compared to the song sung by the original singer/artist.

It is based on a percentage score. If you can score 100, then you are singing very close to how the original artist had sung it.

The restaurant told me that there will be a bottle of wine (as a prize) for our best singer.

Let's hope this will attract more CCCers to attend. :D:D:D

CCC Karaoke Party: Saturday 16-May-2009 (Latest info)

The restaurant boss has phoned to inform me that he would instruct his kitchen to start preparing our food at 5:00pm. I have given him the link for our Karaoke thread. He would read the thread himself before instructing how much food is required to be prepared.

This is good, because we can now keep our 'Booking In List' open until 5:00pm.

Please be reminded that it's an AYCE (All You Can Eat) Buffet. We shall serve ourselves from a sumptuous variety of dishes from a table/sideboard.

I have been asked to collect the money ($25 per head). Regarding our Karaoke Competition, may we have a volunteer to monitor the highest score for our singers?

Last Friday, 09-Oct-2009, was our 170th Friday CCC Session at Waverley Christian College. Our 1st Friday session started on 28-Apr-2006. We have played at WCC on 170 out of the 180 Fridays. The 10 times we did not play were because the gym was not available for us.

For me, travelling across Melbourne (from north-west to south-east) to organise our sessions there has become tiring. I would wish to take a break, starting from the beginning of November 2009. I hope to take a break over the coming Spring/Summer months.

Is there anyone who could take over the organising of our Friday sessions at Waverley?

Please respond if interested. The college needs to know who will take over the responsibility for the conditions/keys/security codes of the gym.

We had 14 players attending.

We had a meeting to discuss about our future sessions. One suggestion is to have our players to be committed to a term of sessions, say for 3 months. But only 2 are wishing to be committed.

Therefore, we shall now suspend our CCC sessions at Aqualink Box Hill until further notice.

On Thursday 15-Oct-2009, it was our 40th Thursday CCC Session at Aqualink Box Hill. Our 1st session started on 08-Jan-2009. We have played at ABH on 40 out of the 41 Thursdays.

The only Thursday we did not play was because it was too hot (on Thursday 29-Jan-2009), when the temperature reached 44.4 degree C at 4.44pm (click here (http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1082219&postcount=101)).
