I am 15 years old and a fairly good badminton player by many peoples standards. I was top in my school last year and the year before. I realy want to start playing competitive matches, tourneys, ect, but I don't know where or how to get on to the scene and what paths I should take. I know there are many of you like me and I would be greatful if you could shed some light on the subject.

well, does your school have a coach? If not you could get a coach cos that's probably the best way

Since you are a junior, there are a number of places but the first place should be the Badminton BC site (www.badmintonbc.com) and you can check out the tournament schedule for 07/08 (just released). Obvioulsy there are various other non-ranked tournaments organized by the various clubs (e.g. Yumo, ClearOne/Two and RichmondPro). There used to be a Lower Mainland Association which organizes a couple of junior tournaments over the school year but I don't know if they are still in operation. Maybe Badrad can assist here as he used to go through this with little Badrad.
Good luck...
