It Is actually good sign for CHN start to send their players for lower grade tournament .. YW/ZJW ..erm.. Still don't understand.. Mayb this pair will be quiting at very last minutes..
I am surprise that a "mini" size country also have an interest to held a badminton tournament.. Is that their 1st ever edition?

This week, Belgium has US$15000 tournament....I know for sure that last year, it was US$ 50,000.00 now it is US$ 70,000...I would like to see more US$ 7o K to 120 K tournament.....I am surprised that Netherland only has US$ 50K this year....too bad...

Too many tournamnets on that week, we willhave Macau ( US$ 120 K), Bulgaria ( US$ 15 K international challenge) and Bitburger Luxemburg ( US$ 70 K)

This is good news. I am surprised they did not send Pia and Tommy... Those two made more sense... And by the way, yes Endra Kurniawan is based in Germany. Playing for a certain club there...

The organizer of Bitburger Open is much better than Macau how to handle one tournament. Live-streaming and related info are available through Bitburger web. There's also Player's party, WoW!

In other side, Macau which has higher level and total prize-money, seems all BC members once again will ask to our friend Rudy Huang as a volunteer to give us update result.

Who knows in 2010 Germany will become one of SS host?! Just 4 non-Asia countries of 12 SS installments, not good prospect to popularize bdm globally...

I agree that a Germany Super Series is already better than a Swiss Super Series... And while we are already going off topic, might as well say this: delete Singapore Super Series and one of the China Super Series [why need 2 like now?].. :p Just make them just Grand Prix Gold tournaments with lots of cash prize [like Chinese Taipei Open]... The excitement generated by last week's Chinese Taipei Open was pretty good...

What we do need: one USA Super Series... ;), one Australia Super Series... ;), and one Nigeria Super Series! ;)

JIANG YANJIAO should win the tittle here...the most dangerous contender for her is WANG YIHAN...
as for WD it should be YANG and ZHANG
THIS two categories was the easier to predcit

I guess chinese's obligation to German's badminton....Yes, I think this is so. There are some agreements between the associations that they do send a top player(s) to certain tournaments for support.

I remember in one old report of Dong Jiong having to play in the Denmark Open whilst there was a very important National China games going on at the same time. DJ had to play in Denmark because of the associations commitment. My coach mentioned this arrangement existed as well. I don't about recent years but the appearance of ZJQ/YW certainly points to the same thing.

Higher bitrate would be welcome if you can spare it :) Now it's around 250 kbps I think and it already looks poor at 200% let alone full screen ... 350 or 500 kbps would be better/great. Otherwise no problems at all  Thanks!

If it is ins Luxemburg...why BWF still listed it is..I have casked BWF and it was confirmed that Bitburger is by Luxemburg, nor Germany.

Could you explain to us? Thanks;)
..the location of the tourney is in Saarbrücken, in Germany. Luxembourg, itself, borders around Germany, France & Belgium. So, technically, eventhough it's called the Luxembourg Bitburger Open, the tourney itself is in Germany.

Here's the "translated" version of the official website:
http://translate.google.com/translate?langpair=de|en&u=http://www.bitburger-open.de/cms/index.php&hl=en&ie=ASCII
Here's the map. Notice Saarbrücken in the lower right hand side. The city of Bitburg is towards the middle, up north, also along the border;):

Hmm, the two upsets so far in MS division are top-seed Wacha lost to CHN youngster Lu Yi and third seed Anup Sridhar defeated by home player Marc Zwiebler. I guess MAS Lee Tsuen Seng has bright chance to win title here.

In the Bitburger Open, second seed Jiang Yanjiao advanced with an easy win over Jill Pittard of England. The other two Chinese had to beat seeded players to advance. Zhu Jingjing trounced 7th seed Larisa Griga of Ukraine 21-10, 21-10 and will face top seed Xu Huaiwen of Germany in the quarter-finals. Judith Meulendijks, who elected to play in Europe rather than attempt to repeat her stunning Macau Open victory last year, could not escape Chinese domination as she fell to 2006 World Junior Champion Wang Yihan (pictured) in straight games.

In the men's event, Lu Yi had an easy win over top seed Przemyslaw Wacha of Poland before having more trouble with Peter Mikkelsen of Denmark 21-13, 17-21, 21-18. He will be joined in the quarter-finals by compatriots Qui Yanbo and Wu Yunyong, along with two Danes, two Germans, and second seed Lee Tsuen Seng of Malaysia

Do you know how old Lu Yi is? Is he Chn's youngster? In his profile in BWF:
http://www.internationalbadminton.org/playerinfo.asp?playerid=14868
looks like he has been around for 5 years, since 2002.

Yet, he has really good performance in this tourney so far, tomorrow he will meet a tough Dane Joachim Persson [4], and if he can handle this, he most likely will meet Lee Tsuen Seng [2] of Malaysia in the final.

In the Women Singels, the Chinese player dominate the semifinal, with Zhu Jingjing (who has just upset top seeded Xu Huaiwen 21-19; 21-19) will face Wang Yihan (after won over 4th seeded Ella Diel).
In the other semis, 2nd seeded Jiang Yan Jiao will face the 3rd seeded Juliane Schenk.

It seems like it will be All Chinese Final in the WS.

Meanwhile, in the Women Doubles semifinal, the top seeded Yang Wei/Zhang Jiewen most likely will win over Shruti S Kurian/Jwala P Gutta, and will face with Pan Pan/Tian Qing or the English Joanne Nicholas/Natalie Munt in the final.

I smell it will be All Chinese Final int the WD, too.

Another CHN success story beside Macau Open. Lu Yi, Wang Yihan and top-seed Yang Wei/Zhang Jiewen delivered victorius for the Great Wall yesterday...

The surprising result, Lu Yi (his age is 21 or 22?!) has defeated top, second, fourth seed in this tourney, Wacha-Lee Tsuen Seng-Joachim Persson en route to win MS title.
