Broken Strings

after you break the strings on a racket, you cut them to prevent uneven tension distorting the frame. However, whats the best way to cut them. I cut them from the center, going in a clockwise spiral outward. However, this is not the fastest method.(this may equal more time of slightly eneven tension).

The other ways to cut are to cut diagonal across the face, or half the mains, half the crosses, then the rest of the mains, then the rest of the crosses.(this can be done with a good knife really fast if you do it right.) but, which method is best for the racket???

Choice 1: cut diagonally w/ a big pair of sKiZZorz starting from the 8:00

Choice 2: cut the MAINS first..then cut the CROSSES..=)

i dun recommend cutting the mains unless its realli low tension n stuff..otherwise lotta times it mite warp the frame before its cut..=)

i always cut from the centre crosses upwards, then downwards.

A knife might not be the best choice, especially if the string tension is low. A string cutter or a pair of scissors might be better choices. I usually start from a bit lower right from the center, and cut diagonally. At the end, clean up the left over pieces, on the 4 edges.

ya, a knife probably isnt the best, but i remeber cutting a few strings a while back with a really sharp knife, and it worked pretty well, so thats why i mentioned it
