It should be an interesting match between two young guns:
Kenichi Tago (JPN) vs Tan Chun Seang (MAS) -- I think Tago will prevail in front of his home crowd.

Wang Yihan is still inconsistent, she failed to reach main draw here. Let's see her effort next week in Taipei. Japan SS provides 7 courts than normally using 4 courts, that's good for time efficiency!

I thought this refers to "Pre-First Round-Qualification". This enables those players who do not qualify directly into the main draw, because of their low world ranking, to have a chance to fight for a few selected places in the First Round of the main draw.

It is called Promoted from Qualifying . That means the player originally was supposed to play in the Qualifying Round. But she/he need not play as there was a withdrawal from the Main Draw and hence she was promoted from the Qualifying Round to the Main Draw.

There is also a PFR, which means Promoted from Reserve List. This mean this player originally had no chance to play. But she / he then was given a place in the Qualifying Round 'cos someone from Qualifying Round has withdrawn or someone else from Qualifying Round has been promoted to Main Draw.

See MS Qualifying Round Pei Wei Chung -> he was PFR.

Wang Yihan's game was just too off today and Kim Moon Hi was too lucky. Wang could have won easily but it just wasn't her day. Easy kills either go to the net, wide or long. :crying:

I must say that Kim has improved a lot from the last time I saw her play. She knows how to use her height to her advantage. I think she is a player to watch in the coming games.

Not just that. TCS played one full tournament locally before JO. How fresh can he be against JPN's rising star? Wouldn't be surprised only one MAS MS left standing after R1.

I agree. Kim Moon Hi is not yet in that category. Confidence is still lacking.
I will put my money on WMC, she is not as tall but she is fast and already a seasoned player.
