That is my wish, but I know full well that it may just be a wish... If Peter Gade is as young as Lin Dan, just may be it is more realistic. Unfortunately, Lin Dan is superior in terms of power, fitness, speed, and pretty much all physical attributes. Unless Peter Gade can figure out an effective strategy for tomorrow, otherwise his chance of winning is slim.
But anyways, the usual...

LCW has been famous for being Mr. Quarter finalist for most part of this year:cool:... and be prepared to see him live up to that status again tomorrow. If by chance, he could get pass Chen Jin, then just maybe you can claim him being back to his top form.

The only thing that can not be doubted about Lin Dan is his fitness... and unless it is very far into the tournament, or else it is quite difficult to be sure that there isn't enough in the tank for Lin Dan in the next day's competition.
In case, you didn't know.. I am a big fan of Peter Gade, but I much rather be realistic about his chance, than making a claim that he will win tomorrow.

Wow... I should have known that most people only look at the "ups" and the "downs" are always ignored... When you say "someone is back", it should be thought as coming back from a set-back, and in LCW's case, only results after WC(his set back) should be considered, or else everyone can claim "everyone" is back after winning a match or two.

Not agree! Won so many matches in a rows or i said unbeatable mean he came out from his downing time.. Lost 1 match in WC does not mean he is down and need JO to prove that his is back..
Again not 1 match or 2 as you said.. if u want to count.. then should start counting from round 1 till final match on Indonesia/Philippines Open.. That is alot of matches..
We can only said he want to bounce back due to his slip in WC.. But we cannot deny that he is back to his top form already after a long "downing period"

2 exits in the second round....with both of them expected anyway :D So, Team INA is quietly making a good progress.
MEN'S SINGLES
Park Sung Hwan vs Taufik Hidayat -- the way is clear for Taufik to enter his first major SS Final this year.
Chan Yan Kit vs Simon Santoso -- similarly, Simon has a chance to qualify for his second Final this year.
MEN'S DOUBLES
Tony Gunawan/Candra Wijaya vs Shuichi Sakamoto/Shintaro Ikeda -- a tricky match for the veteran pair, esp since the Japanese have been gaining some momentum lately. However, they should prevail.
Tadashi Ohtsuka/Keita Masuda vs Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan -- the Jap pair gave them some problems the last time they meet in the WC. However, with the path cleared for them, it will be a disaster if Kido/Hendra are not to win tomorrow
Hendri Kurniawan Saputra/Hendra Wijaya vs Luluk Hadiyanto/Alvent Yulianto -- what a result against KKK/TBH today and Luluk/Alvent could go on to the semi-final (or even all the way to win their first title since 2004?)
MIXED DOUBLES
Flandy Limpele/Vita Marissa vs Han Sang Hoon/Lee Hyo Jung -- with Vita involved in a tiring WD match today, I am afraid Flandy/Vita could loss to the fitter Han/Lee.
Sudket Prapakamol/Saralee Thoungthongkam vs Nova Widianto/Lilyana Natsir -- the World Champion is gaining confidence with each match, having beaten two relatively strong pairs. They face another tough match tomorrow, but, I believe they will prevail yet again, having beaten Sudket/Saralee four times without reply in the past two years (3 last year and 1 this year).

Great opportunity for TH to advance to final with a lot easier path than LD, LCW, PG and CJ. Those 4 guys will 'kill' themselves mentally and physically...therefore, if TH fail to go to final or advance to final and lost, there should be no excuse...none at all.

A matador keeps his name alive by beating fresh bulls.
Not by beating ageing bulls or by getting beaten by young bulls.

I think you are talking about LD's half? Then TH has BP, CY and BCL. I dont see these three are any inferior to LCW, CJ and PG (especially taking into account that BP has beaten all 5 Chinese MSs recently -- Has he lost to any Chinese MS this year? ). So TH is lucky, in the sense that these big guys are already out, but the draw is not as favorable to TH as you implied.
In fact, TH may prefer to play against big names like CJ then to play against Simon, who can match him technically and knows every of his tricks.

As for the present, from the facts of today:
Taufik is in the quarterfinals of JO. Taufik proved to be undefeated so far this week... while...
Bao Chunlai, Chen Hong, Chen Yu, and Kenneth Jonassen are not in the Japan Open quarterfinals. Those four were all seeded in Taufik's half of the draw... They are ranked #2, #3, #7, and #8. But their ranking was created in the past, so it must be irrelevant, huh?!? :pLin Dan is in the quarterfinals too, should we all be sceptical and surprised then? Because his accomplishment as a two-time World Champion happened in the past...  All of Anup Sridhar's, Chen Jin's and Peter Gade's accomplishments happened in the past too... So they have to prove themselves now! ;)

Agree, with one exception...on Flandy /Vitta...
Vita can recover quickly.....
TODAY WILL BE ANOTHER GLORIOUS DAY FOR INA TEAM.....:)
What a good day to start with!!
Note: Despite Vita/Lyliana's loss yesterday to the Chinese 1 WD, I am very optimistic that the tomboy pair are the strongest candidate to win GOLD in BEIJING 2008....Very optimistic man....!!!

i have said before in another thread, TH luck out in a favorable draw. Only 1 big name (BCL) and he is out. In LD's ladder, he got big names like lcw, chen jin and peter gade.
And who is it to blame? At the announcement of the draw, he has a pretty tough road ahead (Chen Hong in R32, Shoji Sato in R16, Kenneth Jonassen in QF, and possibly Bao Chunlai in SF). These players HAVE BEATEN Taufik before.

Well, I don't agree with you. TH deserve to get QF or even as a champion here. If you think that TH on got luck in a draw, then we also can say LD luck out in a favorable draw in another past tournament.
I think we must see the player from the ability and mental strength than draw luck out.
