They are the World Champion and their opponents should be the one who feel unlucky to face them, not the other way around. That's how true champion should be? Furthermore, Kido/Setiawan should be 1 level higher that their opponents listed above except the Korean pair in SF, at least on paper, we are not talking about facing Fu/Cai, KKK/TBH or Choong/Lee. If they can't live up to their ranking isn't it better that they skip this tournament due to the so call back-to-back tournament? Pressure in Olympic will be 10x higher and is better for LCW to improve his exposure when under pressure prior to Olympic. To me, is the process that he has to go thru and better be now than later? So if he fail then continue to try and learn from experience.

I think he has a simple philosophy these days : if the body can take it, he will play to his utmost coz he wants to win the prizes. But if he loses, he will not be too hurt even if fans call him inconsistent.:D

「YONEX 2007中華台北羽球公開賽」18日無畏中度颱風韋帕 (http://tw.news.yahoo.com/article/url/d/a/070918/13/krm1.html?)來襲，會外賽依舊如期在台北縣新莊體育館點燃戰火，台灣選手首日戰績不錯，共計有男 、女單3人，男、女、混雙7組搶進會內賽，曾於2004年贏得中華台北公開賽女單亞軍的邱翌如，單日連闖三 關，是會外賽唯一取得晉級資格的我國女單選手，下一輪將遭逢從未交手的新加坡 (http://tw.news.yahoo.com/article/url/d/a/070918/13/krm1.html?)好手刑愛英，邱翌如賽後表示，有信心拿下勝利。
取得晉級會內賽資格的台灣選手除邱翌如外，男單─薛軒憶、方耀霆，男雙─陳宏麟林彥叡、鄭浩宇林偉翔，女雙 ─劉淑芝王沛蓉、彭筱筑鄭婉慧、蔡佩玲楊佳臻、黃美菁陳虹瑜，混雙─王沛蓉王家閔。其中王沛蓉王家閔與馬來 西亞 (http://tw.news.yahoo.com/article/url/d/a/070918/13/krm1.html?)鄭靜儀吳偉慎的對戰，雙方鏖戰三局，最後我國搭檔才以21：19、20：22、21 ：11艱苦獲勝，會內賽首輪將遇上韓國的李孝貞韓相訓。
18日會外賽最受矚目的台灣選手，莫過於都拿過全國女單排名第一的邱翌如、黃嘉欣，兩位同年級生一同力爭上 游，甫於8月拿下印尼 (http://tw.news.yahoo.com/article/url/d/a/070918/13/krm1.html?)挑戰賽女單冠軍的邱翌如較被看好，先後擊敗馬來西亞鄭靜儀、中國香港伍家信，而黃嘉 欣首輪輪空，第二輪以2比1辛苦擊退台灣新生代好手劉怡均，隨後邱、黃兩人狹路相逢，誰贏得比賽就可以搶進 會內賽。
一開賽，邱翌如掌握先機，一路壓著黃嘉欣打，首局以21：15獲勝，決勝第二局，黃嘉欣力圖反攻，一開始取 得6比1領先，但邱翌如隨即改變打法，以平抽面對球場順風狀況，果然打法較保守的黃嘉欣一路失守，先被邱翌 如追成7：7，隨後更無法化解對手攻勢，最終邱翌如就以21：15、21：17擊敗黃嘉欣，取得晉級會內賽 資格。
