Koo Kien Keat/Tan Boon Heong beat their seniors Choong Tan Fook/Lee Wan Wah in 3 thrilling sets (21-18, 17-21, 23-21) to lift the Macau Open Men's Doubles title.

They saved 4 match points in the rubber but just needed one to clinch the victory.

What a great comeback for the youngsters but a bit unlucky for the veterans. Both pairs played tremendously well.

Congratulations to both pairs.

yeah! i remember that one! frustrating MD match for all Msian badminton fans!

Lee-Choong won the 1st set against Lundgaard-Eriksen and were leading 12-5 in the 2nd until Lee had a dispute with the umpire regarding his delaying tactics while receiving serve and get yellow card for it. From that moment on, the Msian pair crumbled and went on to lose the entire match. DAMN!!!

Not only you miss the action, I as well. I call up the starhub and they said that they did not coverage badminton due to lack of sponser. As you know in Singapore, badminton is not the main sport compare to soccer. I really disappointed that I cannot witness the succeed of my heroes especially in the semis and final.

Just watched MD Final and I have to say that it's a very entertaining match to the end. I only managed to catch the second set when it was 7-1 to Choong/Lee. They dominated the game until they had a huge 8 pts lead at 16-8 when Koo/Tan staged a comeback and narrowed the gap to 20-17. However it was a little too late as Choong/Lee eventually took it 21-18.

The third set was quite even, although Choong/Lee appeared to be more aggressive initially. There was an entertaining rally when Koo Kien Keat performed an incredible act of saving the bird when he was down on the floor. That resulted in a disruption as he had to be treated for a minor injury. Choong/Lee had a 11-10 at the interval. From then onwards, it was tense with scores going back and forth until it was 17-16 to KKK/TBH's advantage. Suddenly, Choong/Lee nailed 4 consecutive points and had 3 match points at 20-17. The younger MAS pair showed their mental strength and managed to save them all, thanks to Tan Boon Heong's clever serves. Choong/Lee had another match point at 21-20 and so nearly won the match, only for KKK/TBH to save it again after a return shot that could not pass the net. Eventually, KKK/TBH won the rubber set 23-21. What a match!

Koo Kien Keat/Tan Boon Heong certainly deserved to win today and they show that they are still a top contender for the Gold medal in Beijing 2008. It should be an interesting few months leading up to the big event next year.

The umpire refused Taufik to change the shuttlecock when both players agreed to. That caused Taufik a point. Taufik and his coach argued with the umpire at the interval. The commentator said that it is ridiculous.

Wow,what a great MD match showing by the veteran and the younger one.The both pair were in good form and play each other so well.I discover that KKK smashing very powerful today and TBH net play was also improving,this is a very good sign.Although CCF/LWW lose the match,but they are really in good shape despite of the age factors.Malaysia is really proud to have both of them.
