As a Chinese, to me, these two are very much different... Do Indonesians also think Taufik and Taufiq very different?

As for non-Chinese, I think those two names are a bit confusing...
As for Indonesians, I think Taufik and Taufiq are almost the same in terms of the names, but cos Taufik is very famous, badminton mania won't be confused of those two, not like the unfamous LU Yi and LI Yu (not meant to disrespect them).

Lu Yi and and Li Yu sometimes make me confused (not sure for others), can be swapped one another. But I can understand if they are totally different if they are written in Chinese characters, as you said. Just my foolish can't understand Chinese characters (though my parents can write and read Chinese quite well).

"Taufik" and "Taufiq" are in Indonesian already :). Even if you write them in English, they are still "Taufik" and "Taufiq" as well.

Officially Taufiq Hidayat Akbar's last club before leaving indonesia was Jaya Raya. However unofficially it was another club called SURYA BAJA in Surabaya, Indonesia.

After he left PBSI he was not happy with living in JKT and the Jaya Raya sort of gave up hope on him. So he moved to Surabaya and join SURYA BAJA. His hometown is pasuruan around 1 hour away from Surabaya.

In 2005 he travelled around from SINGAPORE to TAIWAN to play and coach for small clubs or even to train with their national teams.

In 2006 he was signed by a 1st division danish club LILLEROD (http://www.badminton-lb.dk/) to play in the danish league. That year he helped LILLEROD to get promoted to the Premier League.

In 2007 he moved to another 1st division club TRITON ALBORG (http://www.triton-aalborg.dk/). So now he is offcially under this club. They are paying his expenses to go to a few tournaments.

During Denmark off-seasons he still go to SINGAPORE to help train with the ir national team.

So this is a short story of a travelling badminton player and I wish him well today against SONY. May the best man of the day win.

Nitya Krishinda used to partner Nadya Melati in the Juniors up to mid of this year and she only started to partner Lita Nurlita mid of this year (5 events so far). So, I am not surprised that their partnership still has yet to gel. A R16 showing in the SS event this year represents their best result. We'll see how they fare in today's match and the upcoming French Open. A couple of wins will do them good.
