Thats what happened in Denmark Open...all kids were asking the players' shirts when they lost...their reason is you have lost so you did not need them anymore....hehe...they forgot those players had other tournaments to go...:D some players felt it was insult...:D...Thats so cruel actually...

I think it is better that Maria febe is trained under Fang Kai Xiang till she is matured in her game.....if she moves to Pelatnas, they may screw up her training...as we have seen some consequences in the past.....I hope Djarum does not let Maria Febe go to Pelatnas....plus Maria Febe has more chances to go to more tournaments under Djarum....thats my opinion...time to teach PBSI some lessons.....hehe

I am not sure, Marleve Mainaky, the current coach for INA WS can upgrade our women players, if not, PBSI should consider seriously of getting someone to train our girls....if not, we have to wait more than 10 yrs to have another Susi or Mia....sad.....sad...or Krisna should accomplish his mission fast.....hehe

I heard... Cisita's club used a round-robin selection process in order to make sure the 4 GS that represented their club [and automatically Central Java province] are really the four best. Cisita did not make it this year.

As for Jenna, she is injured for a while now... It was reported that she could not go to the Bali National Circuit last month due to her injury... I think it is the injury she got while playing Cisita in the East Java Circuit SF... [maybe]...

Our choir will join you guys at Solo via its famous song which we will present at a Nurses Award Night on 21 Nov. As we sing, dancers will appear in front of us on stage to do an Indonesian number.

We will sing folk songs of some other Southeast Asian countries who have allowed their nurses to work and help the sick in Singapore hospitals, nursing homes, old folks homes, etc. Traditional dances of the respective countries will be presented as we sing along:

The men, Tenors and Basses in harmony, will begin by chanting crisply: "Ben-ga-wan So-lo, Bengawan.....(for 14 bars)".

Then the ladies will emerge with their melodious voice on the main verse whilst the men continue chanting:

(A bit off topic), May I suggest you not to bring "Rasa Sayange" in Solo as Malaysian representative song? Indonesian public would never accept it to be claimed as Malaysian song, I suppose..try to find another Malaysian song would be better alternative :)

Yes I read that it is a sensitive issue.

Nevertheless we love to sing both Indonesian and Malaysian songs in Singapore, including some easier Indian numbers. Hopefully songs and music should not have to cross political barriers. :)

Andi Nugroho is a dark horse from Central Java who is 'interning' in Pelatnas right now. He is the 2006 National Junior Champion. I saw him win that crown in Medan last year.

Pada pertandingan yang berlangsung di GOR Bhinneka Solo tersebut, Maria tampil tenang dan tidak banyak memberikan ruang bagi lawannya untuk mengembangkan permainan. Dia pun berhasil mengakhiri duel hanya dalam tempo 21 menit. Di round ketiga, Maria akan ditantang wakil DKI, Sandrawati Wijaya yang menyingkirkan atlet Jambi, Sovi Sovianti.
”Saya tadi masih adaptasi lapangan karena kemarin belum latihan di sini, tapi mainnya sudah enak,” ujar Maria kepada wartawan sesuai pertandingan.

Ooops, I just checked the schedule [that I attached several posts ago]. The Junior QF will play earlier in the day. Starting at 9am in GOR Manahan... Oh well, then I guess I will miss that... :p So, I just arrive at 3pm, check in, then watch the night QF games... ;)

On Friday, the Junior SF starts at 3pm. Senior SF starts at 6:30pm... :D Everything will be in GOR Bhinneka...

Their respective world rankings of #6 and #7 suggested a tight match and in the end, only 5 points overall separated the victor from second best. Sony may have won more points but Taufik secured the decider. The score was 21-19, 9-21, 21-16.

Taufik had more to prove than the casual observer could have fathomed. He erased the taste of his September loss to Sony in the final of the Chinese Taipei Grand Prix. And in a rivalry that is exactly 5 years old this weekend, their head-to-head results now stand at 3:2, still in favour of Sony but, importantly, it was prevented from being 4:1.



"Sony played really well today but I'm more experienced. I know I'm old but I can still fight against the younger players," Taufik was quoted by the Jakarta Post as saying.

Taufik’s comment gave nothing away, as usual, and possibly makes fools of believers. Neither man has enjoyed a higher international ranking in a couple of years.

Reversing the tables on the idea that rankings and level of fame are a means of predicting who will win, men's doubles world #9 pairing of Luluk Hadiyanto/Alvent Yulianto Chandra beat this year's World Champions and world #3 Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan to the tune of 21-18, 17-21, 21-19.

In mixed doubles, it was a comfortable straight-game win for World Champions Nova Widianto/Liliyana Natsir over Vietnam Open champions Tantowi Ahmad/Yulianti 21-16, 21-10.

The women's singles was a closer affair where Aprilia Yuswandari beat Fransiska Ratnasari 21-19, 21-19.

If statistics are all that matter, there is little to pick and choose between Taufik and Sony, or in mixed doubles with 2 pairs in the world top 4, or men's doubles as today proves. Nevertheless, at this time the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) admitted to a crisis over the wide gap in skills between their current international representation and their next generation of players. No doubt not far from the minds of the national sporting administrators would have been Indonesia's placing at the KLRC World Junior Championships a fortnight ago. Indonesia were runners-up in the team event and their best in the individual events was the semifinals of mixed doubles.

Indonesia can still rely on their singles, men's doubles, and mixed doubles. But how much longer? This is the question they are asking themselves. I think Taufik never won any Kejurnas MS title before 2007... :confused: Sandy might know this... I don't know the exact facts on this... I think in 2001 the winner of MS Singles was Sony , the 2003 and 2005 winner was Andre. I don't know about 1999 or 1997... :confused: I don't think Taufik could have won anything before 1997, he would have been too young in 1995 or before that...

ooooh that's why taufik wanted to win in the final... he hadn't had the kejurnas champion in his bag :D . in set 3 sony was leading 11-5 i thought taufik was finished.. after changing the court-side.. taufik could make it level and won it :D

..looking at the stats Krisna posted (post #146), the INA Kejurnas has always been held every 2 yrs..;)

Kejurnas was held every year in Junior Individually event, In Senior event was held Individually & Team in different years.

I'm more interested Junior Winner's record than Senior, because usually only 2nd layer Pelatnas who competed there. This year all Pelatnas players competed in Kejurnas for 1st time.

That's right. Kejurnas for the Senior individual event is held every 2 years, alternating with the team event. In 2008, we will see the team event [club vs. club], the 2006 winner was Jaya Raya. In 2009, we will see the next individual event. Maybe the winner will be Simon Santoso...

About the Junior individual event, whenever there is a Senior individual event, the best Juniors like this year's Pia and Febe and Wifqi-Alfiat, often choose to compete in the Senior category... So the winner of this year's Junior event might not be the best Junior...
