At the end, it was yet another near miss for Choong Tan Fook/Lee Wan Wah as they lost in straight sets 15-21, 19-21 to Fu Haifeng/Cai Yun. The Chinese pair looked hungrier as they were out to avenge their 2nd consecutive losses to the Malaysians. Choong/Lee had a chance to win the second set when they were leading 14-10, however, it was unlucky that Fu/Cai managed to capitalize on their lapse of concentration to win 8 straight pts. Choong/Lee managed to narrow the gap to 19-20, but, they couldn't force the deuce.
